4.5 stars We arrived on a Thursday morning and found that there was very little free parking. Paid parking is plentiful and we had to walk a bit to find free parking. The inside of this place is just great. Plenty of art and plants make this place really feel cozy and great place to hang out. We ordered a scone with peanut butter ube butter, a black sesame latte, and a pandan latte. The lattes took a while to come out, but the scone came out fast. The scone itself was solid and the addition of the PB-Ube butter was nice...it really brought creaminess to the party. Once the lattes came we gave them a sip. The black sesame latte was fine. I was unsure about the addition of activated charcoal, but I didn't really taste it. I would have wanted to taste more black sesame. The pandan latte was very good. It had just the right amount of sweetness and was very satisfying. I definitely want to come back here, as it seems like a cool night time hang out spot. On an unrelated note: the bathroom smelled GREAT! (not sarcastic)

Disappointed in being charged a service fee on top of paying for food. I know the economy is not well at the moment, but this should be reflected on the menu price. NOT a fan of being nickled and dimed.

First of all, even though I didn't give 5 stars, this place absolutely worth visiting to try out. I like how they have different special lattes on the menu and the staff is super friendly. Very patient and passionate! Seating area is super cute as well. I'd avoid being here on a Sunday. First time I came here on a Sunday and it was way too busy. They only have one register so the line is long and waiting to order your stuff takes 15-20 mins. If you are up for a second coffee or anything, you'd have to wait another 15-20 mins to order. It kinda sucks.. they also kindly asked customers to put the dirty reusable dish back to next to the restroom, which is fine and happy to do so but I think if that's the case, I don't think I need to give 18% (minimum) tip. I'd just give a 10% max since I do your job that I'd tip you to do, isn't it? Tried their scone flights. I wasn't impressed. Scone was well made but a bit too sweet for me. I like its flaky and soft inside. The butter I chose was ube, maple cayenne, and fig honey. The flavor of these butter are subtle. They seem very "watery?" Anyways, I wasn't impressed with the butter. It's not as good as I thought they'd be but I'd order the scone again. The two latte (brown sugar cinnamon and black sesame) are awesome. Coffee bean is a bit sour type. It's not overpowering sweet! Beautiful art. They have oat milk available if you have lactose issue.

Delicious! Get the pandan latte!! I always get pandan whenever I see it on a menu. I don't even really know what the flavor is...but I know I always love it! It's sweet but not overpowering. I also got a scone with the peanut butter ube butter. It was pretty small for the price, but I was on vacation so whatever. The scone itself was very soft so I enjoyed it. The peanut butter ube was good, but didn't stand out that much. Metered parking out front, but we parked in one of the neighborhoods and just walked over. Most of the seats were already taken in the morning, but they had outdoor seating available.

Great spot for coffee and lunch. I know a lot of reviews say it's a great place to work from, I have to say I disagree. This is an awesome coffee shop and it has wifi, but it also plays screamo/hard rock music which isn't the most conducive for working and they only allow laptops at certain tables. Will definitely be back but sans laptop.

Very hip, great staff, awesome menu. Love the atmosphere here and they're always playing good music. Sometimes a bit too loud, but the nice outside seating solves that issue. The pandan latte is definitely my fav, and their scones are a must. Especially at happy hour prices.Parking: Parking behind the building.

Best Coffee House in La Mesa, California. There is something about this cafe that makes you feel like home. I just love it. The freshly baked sugar scone is delicious, it comes with your choice of butters. Love the Fig & Honey butter, it is so yummy ???.I highly recommend this cafe, it has a positive vibe and the price is affordable.

I love stopping in here for a beverage. I’ve enjoyed their cold brew and their hot tea alike. They also make a mean chocolate chip cookie! The atmosphere is relaxing and the shop provides plenty of seating so it’s a nice place to take a break or get work done. It’s definitely “positive vibe” themed here and it’s rather infectious. The prices here are very fair! It’s refreshing to get a coffee and a pastry for ~$5

Truly exceptional service, good food, and pretty good coffee as well.If you can try the guava butter, they seem them by the scoop, as a flight of different flavors and even as $5 cups if you end up liking one a lot.

Wonderful community atmosphere, delicious coffees and food. Baristas are friendly and I love the energy of Public square. It does get busy and when that happens it can take longer than usual to get your order, which is a bummer. It seems like they need to hire more people (at least to cover down those busy hours). I haven't tried using the "to go" pick up window but I've watched it used and it seems pretty efficient.

The food is good, but the food comes separately so be prepared to eat cold food until the coffee is ready. The structure is good, the cafe is beautiful and the food is delicious, but there are not enough employees to provide adequate service.

I've been wanting to come to this location for a while now but parking definitely can be tricky. Most of is street parking or in the back there is a small area for parking. On a Friday at 11-12 o clock it was packed and had to park kind of far and walk to the shop. The brown sugar latte was perfectly and really enjoyed it. The espresso carnitas was also super delicious and I would definitely get it again. The space is great for homework, lots of plugs and variety of seating at tables or chairs or couches. They also have a table set aside that isn't allowed for laptop usage, and is mainly there for conversation and talking or eating which I think it's really really great. They also have an outdoor space as well that is shaded.for all my parents, they have a kids menu and some kid friendly options like apple juice or apple sauce pouches. Overall! Really great job! Would like to return again!
