I've been here a few times the owner is very sweet and greets himself. This event was a month ago but their hours said open at 12pm so I arrive and it's closed I check the hours on the window and it says the same thing open at 12 when I call he answers and says no we changed our hours.. we drove all the way there for nothing. I give this place another try with my friend there's only a few other people there not busy at all and our roll takes almost two hours to come.. 2 whole hours I think it's because he doesn't want to hire another chef to help him out which is unfortunate because one guy can't handle the whole restaurant. I think this place is great if you have a lot of time to kill but I personally won't be returning.

Everyone here is extremely friendly and makes you feel like you are a regular. First time here and the food was amazing as well as the service being very warm and welcoming.

We went around 7pm on a friday night. We were seated right away. Super cool little sushi place. The staff is warm, receptive and attentive, overall really good customer service. But, the real stars here are the sushi chefs. Simply fantastic. I got the chef sushi sampler, the chef came over and asked me how I liked my sushi. These guys knocked it out of the park. I will be back, hands down totally worthy of a 5 star review.

I placed an order today on Grubhub. I ordered Lake Murray Roll, Albacore Special Roll and Spicy Scallop Hand Roll. The Albacore Special Roll was good, the Lake Murray roll was ok, a little bit too lemony. The spicy scallop hand roll, however, was horrible! I have never had a scallops hand roll with cooked scallops! It pretty much tasted like boiled chicken on a hand roll. Also, I am not sure if their rice is sushi rice, it didn't taste like it was made with rice vinegar and sugar. I wouldn't go back here for sushi.

Best sushi on town, love every single item we ordered, the presentation is beautiful and the fresh. Highly recommended.

Ordered takeout and they were missing 3 items - of course we didn't know until we got home. Ordered through Yelp so it couldn't have been a misunderstanding, bad connection, etc. Good thing we were hungry and ordered extra. Rolls weren't that great - heavy in mayo and light in flavor. Better than grocery store sushi but not much better. Almost everything is spicy so it's tough to order for kids. We should've dealt with traffic and gone to Umi (Point Loma) or Banbu...

They are out of wasabi. How do you run a sushi place when you are out of wasabi. I asked for extra wasabi and ginger and got none of it. Called back t ask if I could come pick some up and they just said they are out of wasabi. NEVER go here, the fish is also grey and smells like a*** Worst sushi in La Mesa.

This is a hidden gem. The fish is fresh and the rolls are as good as any high end sushi restaurant. Welcoming staff and great prices.

So the order took awhile but that is probably due to labor shortage. The minus comes from when we ordered and they brought out our sushi in 4 different placements. Usually you bring it out all at once. He is the weird part, they have a different price for cash or credit. What is this a gas station? I have never seen this before. A little shady.

Came here with five friends, and we all agreed that this was hands down the best sushi place we have ever been to. Super satisfied and definitely will come back

If you love Gnats flying around your head, waiting a crazy amount of time (even though you are one of two tables in the restaurant), eating off broken plates, and music so loud you can't have a conversation, than this place is great for you! Along with over priced sushi you can "enjoy" your meal with a complimentary smell of marijuana. As we were about to leave a spider, who was quite large, decided he wanted to join us and climbed down from the wall. Unlucky for him, he met his match of a used napkin and is now sitting in the trash. Over all not a great experience and will not be returning.

The bluefin tuna is TO DIE FOR. Exceptional service, everything we ate was amazing. Our kid's enjoyed the chicken bowl and Cali rolls and the sushi was A+ quality. Highly recommend the pickled wasabi - I'm not a fan of regular wasabi but this pickled wasabi was on another level. We will definitely be back.

Great food, but best team around. We're very picky when it comes to sushi, but this place won us over.
