Wayyyy to expensive, to have your expensive dinner served in a parking lot, we never got asked if we wanted more drinks or if we needed anything else, wayyy to expensive for the servings, never going back!

Second time visiting this restaurant and once again it did not dissapoint. Ropa vieja with maduros and congri was delicious. Tried their flan for first time. Was delicious! Im not a fan of flan. The texture is either rubbery, mushy or too sweet buy the flan here was the Best flan I've ever tasted. Firm, but smooth texture with delicious topping. Definitely making this restaurant one of my favorites.

I do a lot of food reviews & try new places. I really wanted to like this place but I must say! The staff was not friendly at all. I felt like i was overlooked & shouldn’t be there.The food was not great as I thought it would be. I am domincian & also I have tried the Cuban sandwich. When I saw it, I looked it at like why is it so small? It was mostly bread! You barely got any meat in it! for the price thats not good. The rice was warm! I’m guessing they have it sitting out! Overall it looked like the food was rushed when it was made. The drinks are small! They gave me the smallest glass for a cocktail! For the price I thought it would be a bit bigger! That was disappointing.Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place at all. I truly wish I could but I wouldn’t bring my friends & family here!

I have just moved to OC and glad to have a great time at Isla. Food was yummy - the plantain chips, ceviche, sautéed garlic butter shrimps, oxtails, yuca fries, cocktails, etc. Ricardo was very helpful and gave us some great suggestions. Great service and atmosphere, would love to return soon!

My second round here was disappointing as they cut back on food quality. I ordered Ropo Vieja and the beef was awful. I complained about it then was approached with an attitude from the manager. If you don't care about food quality then you will appreciate the ambiance here.

I am a foodie reviewer(ig:jwardhooper22)..We were here for my wife’s birthday dinner. The restaurant was very beautiful and clean on the inside and they had a huge patio with a big covering over it and there is basically no door to the restaurant you just walked through the patio. I thought that was pretty cool. It’s in a good area in space. The lighting is very intimate and dark so taking food pictures, you will definitely need a light. I ordered my food, I think it was the big chicken plate, and it came out in three minutes and that was odd because That is way too soon. The food was warm and the chicken bone at the end was cold. So they gave me a plate that was just sitting there. I still ate it because I’m not the type of person that will take back meals. But for future references please make sure you make food fresh for your customers.other than that, the whole experience was really good and the staff was really nice and professional. The food was good, but it was missing some. Didn't seem to me like authentic Cuban. I think it was more like a fusion between different Caribbean cuisines. It was good tho. The lechon asado to me needed some more citrus. Had mostly tender and moist meat, with some dry chunks mixed in. Ropa vieja was delicious, no complaints. The pollo asado isla was also good, but to me needed a citrus kick. Papas rellenas and tostones preparados were delicious. Cocktails were tasty, but a little weak. Tajin on glass to me was unnecessary. Service was good, but nothing special. Atmosphere was good. Live music after 9pm was cool, but super loud so we left. Couldn't have a nice conversation. The place is cool for a date night, but nothing really stuck out. I liked it, but probably wouldn't return. Especially with today's prices, restaurants gotta bring it. I think 3.5 stars is fair.
