This place has been opened for ten months - how could I have not known about this? Until my neighborhood friends recommended this place. No more making the drive in traffic out to Savoy in Alhambra when craving for Hainan chicken rice. It's a small restaurant tucked behind Popeye's fried chicken adjacent to Auntie Anne's pretzel and Jamba Juice. They have a limited menu that specializes in chicken rice. For my first try I kept it simple with Hainan chicken rice to go order. There is regular and a larger size portions. The perfectly sliced boneless chicken sits on top of ginger chicken broth flavored rice comes with minced cucumber slices, and three sauces sambal, soy sauce, and ginger sauce. There is also a small side of chicken broth. The chicken tastes clean, no MSG detected. Next time I'll be back to try the fried chicken. No cash accepted, pay by cashless credit card or Apple Pay at the kiosk.

We went for our second visit and decided to get two different meal items Again, we were not disappointed the food was delicious.

Inside you order at the kiosk and sit outside where you are brought your food. It is $3 extra to get a bigger chicken piece so I was worried the $13.50 plate would not be enough food. Spoiler--it was a lot of food! Truth be told I have never had Hainan chicken at a restaurant. This one definitely tasted different than the Vietnamese version my mom makes, but it was still very tasty. It comes with a soup cup as well. The spicy cucumber salad was crunchy and had a slight kick to it. The cream corn wasn't something that I expected at an Asian restaurant but we ordered it regardless and it tasted great and somehow was fitting with the meal. I personally do not like sitting outside but it was fine. The restaurant is small inside with no seating. The cashiers were really nice as we asked them for recommendations. They also brought the food out to us.

Yup! Maxwell Chicken Rice that serves up delicious Singaporean Style Hainan Chicken Rice adds Ribs & Rice concept. Maxwell wanted to make sure everyone's tastebuds were covered and satisfied. Platters includes Rice and Salad or Pickled Cucumbers Korean Style Beef Back Ribs Garlic Black Pepper Beef Char Siu (BBQ Pork) Sweet Chili Pork Ribs Before I have to get into talking about the proteins of Ribs & Rice, their pickled cucumbers are so good! I love how their pickled cucumbers are seasoned well, a hint of spice and a really good balance of salty and a lil sweet. I have never tried pickled cucumbers this delicious and I normally hate cucumbers. My top two flavors include the Garlic Black Pepper Beef and Char Siu ( bbq pork) . The Char Siu is a great classic of Chinese BBQ Pork with a sweeten glaze and goes so well with a nice of rice and cucumbers. As for the Garlic Black Pepper Beef, these pieces of beef is ultra tender and instantly delicious. Overall, I am pretty excited that Maxwell added their Ribs and Rice menu of beef and pork. Drop by Maxwell today! Maxwell is located right behind the #Popeyes . Remember this spot is more of a take out spot but if you want to eat ASAP, there is a front patio to enjoy your food.

Easy ordering through electronic kiosks near the front door Hainan chicken plate is delicious! The chicken is tender and juicy. The plate comes with rice and dipping sauces. My favorite is the spicy red/orange sauce, but mixing all the sauces levels up the flavor! The fried chicken is also well done here. Crispy skin with tender, flavorful meat. Can't go wrong with either option. The garlic noodles are flavorful, and I most recently added chicken to them to make it more of a meal. The egg noodles.... The cream corn side is one of my favorites. The sweet crunch of the corn and its creamy texture was delicious. Order prep is quick, the staff has been kind, and talking is kept to a minimum since the ordering is through kiosks, but if you have questions, I'm sure they'll be happy to help. The inside of the restaurant is minimal, with no seating available. All the seating is outside under the patio. The outdoor seating is shared by the other food businesses next door. I'll be back.

I go to Maxwell's quite often. Their Hainan and fried chicken are the best in Orange County. I live pretty close to Maxwell's and this is my go-to place if I want to eat something delicious and healthy! The owner and staff are pretty friendly every time when I stop by. I've ordered from this place a few times for my friends and family when they come visit us and they all love the food here. Thanks for opening up your restaurant in La Palma!

I've had three things from here so far: chicken rice, garlic noodles, and char siu bowl. It was all okay. The soup and sauce that comes out with the chicken is a bit bland (and I genuinely love chicken rice), noodles were a bit too greasy, and the pork is way too sweet. I thought third time was the charm (and maybe the new menu with the ribs were gonna be a hit) but I think everything I've tried was missing something or just didn't feel satisfying. It's a bummer because this is one of the only places near me that has chicken rice.

Food was delicious for both the chicken rice and BBQ pork. Soup and sauces were excellent. One person crew - cashier, cook and server. He did it all as fast as he could. No seating inside but have available tables and chairs outside sharing with other stores so I guess cozy outdoor ambiance. Value proposition could be improved as I didn't think I got $17.95 worth of food for my Hainan chicken rice.

I enjoyed my Hainan chicken rice here. It's mostly boneless although I did have a bone in chicken wing and it is poached perfectly. The rice is very tasty and the ginger onion sauce was spot on the chicken. It came with a cup of soup and some pickles on the side and felt the portion was a decent size. It's close to my mom's house so I will definitely come back. I was so excited to dig in I forgot to take a photo!

Chicken Rice: The chicken was very tender and juicy. Generous with all the condiments, the ginger scallion sauce is not oily and gives a more fresh/clean taste to the dish. The rice is one of the most flavorful chicken rice I’ve had in LA yet.Fried Chicken: Fried to perfection. Thin and crispy all around, batter was well seasoned, so juicy on the inside.

I have only tried their Hainan Chicken plate and it was as good and tasty for me. I could have given the place another star except for the lack of indoor seating. Still, this place is good for a quick meal.

Finally got to try the Hainan chicken and rice plate here for the first time today. I also added a fried chicken leg on the side since it was fairly cheap. Although nothing was truly outta this world, everything was pretty solid from the soup to the rice to the chicken to the sauces you dip the chicken in. If you enjoy Hainan style chicken then I suggest you give this place a shot.

I can't believe it's taken me so long to try this place but it is amazing. One of the best chicken joints around. I know everyone raves about their hainan chicken rice but you cannot sleep on their fried chicken! Wow. I did not expect so much flavor and crisp out of it. Totally underrated. Try it asap!!!

I would come back here. I enjoyed it. The chicken was moist and juicy and warm, and the rice was a flavorful heap. I got the large portion with dark meat. The sauces are more on the salty side, the servings of each were more for dabbing than for full on dipping like other places are ie. Savoy. I wished the portions of the pickled cucumber were larger to balance out the larger portion of chicken and rice. Didn't get too much of a feel for the staff. The guy cutting up our chicken and serving us (I assume he was the owner) seemed pleasant but you could tell his mission was to work and fulfill orders. Two things they can improve on. First, I agree with another review, the complimentary soup was flavorless. It just seemed like the bland water they used to boil the chicken. It's not really a soup. It tastes similar to the water you get after you boil dumplings. And two, I wish they had indoor seating. It was cold and windy outside. Other than that, food was fresh and savory and customer service was fine.
