Good food. They make the food cook to order and it comes out hot and fresh. They have a retro video game in the front that you can play for free. Its a little pacman game. Its a small family own restaurant and the employees are super nice.

Went here yesterday. I was looking for something really good and came across this on Google, just a couple minutes from my house and ordered the pastrami burger, Kimchi spam and rice with fried egg on top and sweet potato fries. OMG everything was sooooo good??cant wait to come back again. I didn't catch the girls name that served me. She was really nice ? highly recommend this place

Tried their Pastrami sandwich, didn't feel like driving to The Hat. Pastrami is just ok, it's slightly better than your average burger pit but the roll they use is similar to the too soft super market rolls which was a disappointment. Will not be back.

Around the Grill is a local eatery that’s known more for its sizeable portions than for the taste of its food. While it may attract those looking for a hearty meal, the breakfast burrito, a staple of their morning menu, tends to emphasize quantity over quality. Wrapped in an oversized tortilla, the burrito is packed with ingredients that, unfortunately, lack the expected flavor and freshness. The general ambiance of the place is decent, but it doesn’t quite make up for the underwhelming culinary experience. Around the Grill might suffice for a quick, filling breakfast, but it falls short for those seeking a truly tasty and satisfying meal.

Where do I start? First off, I wanna say I was a patron of Spooners for the last least seven to eight years before it was sold and became Around The Grille. They had great Korean food and it was evident by the amount of Korean kids from the university that often frequented the restaurant. Spooners was sold and it's a new business now with some Korean food items from the old menu so we decided to try it.We walked in and no one was up front. After about five minutes, a woman walked out of the bathroom and two guys in the back made their way up front. The woman said she was the manager when I asked if she was the new owner. We ordered a Cobb salad, a spicy beef soon tofu soup (me), a pork soon tofu soup (the hub), and an order of 12 sweet and spicy wings. We tried to get a variety of items from the new menu. As we waited, we noticed how hot the place was. After a few minutes, we got up to move near a fan towards the back of the restaurant and the manager said they were having problems with the AC unit at the front of the restaurant so the back was cooler. Would have been nice to have been told this when we first walked in and not let us sit up front with no air. Cobb salad came out first and it was good. Veggies were fresh, bacon was good, and we ate all of it. Salad dressing was blah, typical kind one would buy at the market. Next up was the soon tofu. It was bad. Oh so bad...My beef was not in any way spicy and the broth was horribly bland and watery. Zero spices. The beef in it was actually bulgogi, it was sweet and cooked so much it had balled up into hard, sweet meat ball. That was a bit odd. My husband's pork soon tofu was no better; also bland, not even med spicy as he requested. They gave us a bottle of Sriracha to spice it up. Uh, WTH?! When we thought it could not get worse, the wings came out. We have been fans of their sweet and spicy wings for YEARS so we were very excited to finally have them after a long hiatus. These wings were orange and not their usual glossy, honey color. They were not sticky and sweet. We took a bite and the wing tasted like it had been tossed in Sriracha sauce! No sweetness, no honey, just salt and vinegar. They were over salted, orange, and to make it worse, RAW! We called the manager over and she explained she made the wings herself (why is a manager making food?) and that the cook from Spooners had personally shown her how to make them. I don't know what happened but these were NOT those wings. We showed her that the wings were RAW and she said they "have been having a problem with the fryer." Maybe don't sell wings then? WTH?! She refunded our wings as they were horribly inedible. All in all, a horrible dinner. So disappointed. They need to remove all of their bastardized Korean food items from their menu and stick with the sandwiches and salads.Don't say I didn't warn you.

Found this place while driving around in La Verne after getting fitted for my bike and decided to give it a try. Ordered the pastrami sandwich with zucchini fries and was surprised about how much they give and how good it was. The staffs were pleasant and made me feel comfortable with the menu. The restaurant have an amazing menu with different options to try. Will come back next time to try the other items on the menu.

I love the food here! This is the perfect place to stop by if you’re craving comfort food. I ordered the Galbi with rice and salad and it was delicious. The Bulgogi beef was good as well - it was flavorful and not dry at all like some places. The onion rings and zucchini fries are also amazing. You can really tell they use fresh and high quality ingredients. The restaurant is clean and they have a beautiful patio outside. The staff is super helpful and nice. I will come back to try the rest of the menu :)

UPDATE. After I posted a 3 star review, I was offered a comp meal.Alexia, the manager said that they have improved the bacon and burger meat, so improvements were made. This time I ordered the “Around the Grille 3 meat burrito”. I was pleasantly surprised by a tasty, very large burrito. It was so big that I saved half for tomorrow.I will return soon.On my first visit, sorry to say that my bacon burger was not very good. The burger did not have much flavor and if I didn’t look, I wouldn’t have known bacon was on it.I’m willing to try again later, maybe the burritos, etc will be better.Service was friendly and dining area looked tidy.

Curious, I looked up pastrami sandwiches since I wasn't in the mood to head out to The Hat and wanted to try something new.I checked my Yelp feed and checked out a number of spots, and Around The Grille came up with a lot of positive reviews. Adventure time!I believe this restaurant used to be Korean, but I never tried it out. I ended up adding bacon to the sandwich, and it was a tasty addition. The sandwich itself was flavorful, and it didn't taste as salty (in a good way). The fries tasted awesome, and I believe the ranch is house made. All-in-all, a great first experience, and I hope this place does well. Since it's been hot, I'd suggest sitting in the back where it's cooler. It's got a nice chill vibe, and I think the ambiance is reflective of the La Verne. The lady who took my order took time to chat, and she was super friendly. Best wishes to this place, and I second all the pastrami sandwich reviews that I've seen. Thumbs up!

Around the Grille needs some serious love from the Yelp community! This is our second time in and it has been great each time. The food as a whole is good. We have not had anything that wasn't fabulous. The ramen is really good. The pastrami sandwich is fabulous. House made fries also great. The service is great. You order your food and it gets brought to the table. Fast and friendly. This place needs to be as packed as other places here in downtown La Verne.
