I had a long day so I decided to go to roam since it always held good memories of family eat out nights but this time when I went there they completely messed up my order and when I got home I noticed since it was takeout and I couldn’t drive back since it was to long and I had school the next day plus I couldn’t eat the burger since it had cheese and I’m lactose so I didn’t know if it was lactose intolerant or not so it completely wasted my money and worded my day

Roam is underrated and it's not burning. If that wasn't a dad joke, I don't know what is. We love Roam. The burgers are consistently good and the service is flawless. My current fav is the Chalet burger; my wife gets a custom order. Burger King's famous lyrics ("hold the pickles, hold the lettuce, special orders don't upset us") were written for my wife. If you're wondering what this has to do with a Roam review, you're not alone. Anyway, back to Rome (and "Dad" returns)... I've also enjoyed the Tejano and Sunny-side (sp?) burgers. I prefer the beef version too. The Turkey burger tastes a bit "gamey," and I don't want to start visualizing my burger's ancestors. Finally, here's a shout out for those of you who need to put on pounds: thumbs up to curly or thin fries and milk shakes.

Service has gone downhill here. We used to come here weekly, but now they can’t seem to execute properly on an order. It should not be that hard to follow instructions, especially when orders are placed online. Unless and until the service improves, we won’t be coming back.

Used to be better, not good, just better. Although they have finally stopped serving raw ground meat, the place has consistently gone down hill. It's filthy and run sloppily. After advertising how healthy their food is and how the produce is organic, I got a sticker left on my tomato proving otherwise. I guess we are done with this establishment. Just annoying that most places get their tip before proving they've actually earned it.

Came here with my husband to get some lunch, the food was really good, we got burgers, but didn’t realize till we sat down that it didn’t comes with fries, so we had to order fries separately which was out of the ordinary since burgers usually comes with fries. The atmosphere of the place was lovely. This place usually has quite of bit of people no matter what time of day.

Presentation was good. Burgers were just OK. Small beef patty. We were asked how we wanted them cooked, but it really doesn't matter. The patty is small and the bun is huge. Was not impressed for the money spent We were greeted nicely but that was about it. We will try another location and see if it's any better.

Disappointing. Hamburger overcooked, oversalted, tasteless and quite small. Ordered seeded roll; was delivered unseeded roll. Onions are chopped. At Roam's prices, the customer deserves a nice slice of onion. Based on my one visit, the glowing reviews here are hard to believe.

There are a lot of specialty hamburger joints in central Contra Costa County, but one of the hidden gems of the region just may be Roam Artisan Burgers. Located in the La Fiesta Square Shopping Center in the heart of central Lafayette, Roam Artisan Burgers comes from owners and business partners Joshua Spiegelman and Lynn Gorfinkle, who have brought their concept of providing freshly made hamburgers from locally sourced supplies such as farmers and ranchers who they insist are dedicated to traditional methods of agriculture. This model of contentious environmentalism stretches all the way to the crafting of their restaurant's interior by using reclaimed wood and LED lighting and energy efficient appliances. I have experienced this welcoming atmosphere first-hand by being able to visit with friends their Union Street location in San Francisco, and their soft-opening of their now closed location in the uptown neighborhood in downtown Oakland. When a group of friends wanted to get a quick lunch after a day of shopping in nearby downtown Walnut Creek, the last place that we wanted to dine in was the chaotic downtown area there, so I suggested we go off the beaten path, at least for people in this area and head towards downtown Lafayette in visit a new place. Getting off the Central Lafayette freeway exit and finding this location of Roam Artisan Burgers was the only real challenge as downtown Lafayette's streets are so narrow and one-way only depending on where you turn. Thankfully, La Fiesta Square has its own parking lot, with metered parking, mind you, which is still only a quarter per fifteen minutes, so be sure to have coins on you at all times. When we arrived after the main lunch hour, they were not packed with very many customers, as there was no line to order. It's all fast-casual concept here at Roam Artisan Burgers as you order at their counter, which also serves as a bar, in which they also have beers on tap, and they give you a number to take to your table while you wait for your order to be created. The menu at Roam Artisan Burgers is separated into their Burgers, Sides & Salads, Drinks & Shakes and Kids. What is so unique about dining on their signature burgers at Roam Artisan Burgers is that you can order your option of main protein from Beef, Turkey, Bison and Veggie. Since we were craving burgers we knew we wanted burgers and there were a lot of good options to choose from. I ordered their Heritage which featured applewood smoked bacon, aged white cheddar, butter lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions and aioli, and my friends decided to split their French N' Fries which truffle parmesan fries, brie, avocado, caramelized onions, greens, Worcestershire sauce and stone ground mustard. To pair with our meal, we shared an order of their Sweet Potato Fries. And since we all love milkshakes, we ordered and shared their 12 ounces sizes of their Salted Caramel and Mint Chip shakes. Once we found a table to sit at, we went and got complimentary filtered water at their condiment and utensil station. It didn't take too long for our shakes to be brought out first, and they were such a delight, as they were made with Straus Family Creamery Organic Ice Cream and they were so thick that the only way to drink it was with a spoon! Then came our burgers and sweet potato fries, of which the burgers were split in half per our request, and they were hearty and delectable as they were filled with an abundance of fresh ingredients. We also loved our Sweet Potato Fries as they filled us up, and our shakes were the perfect dessert to make our meal complete. I cannot wait to come back to Roam Artisan Burgers as their burgers are unique enough that with every visit you can get a whole new experience. I can't wait to come back and try their "new" Fried Chicken Sandwich. I do acknowledge that their prices are on the higher side, as their average price is over fifteen dollars for their signature burgers, and our total bill was $56.55 before gratuity was added in. But I am glad that Roam Artis
