I took my wife and mother-in-law to the Mother's Day brunch at the Lafayette Park Hotel. The buffet option was exceptional, with plenty of very fresh seafood options, a number of vegetarian and non-meat options, cheese and fruit, as well as an entrée from a predetermined list. The dessert selections were incredible! Luis was our server and was absolutely fantastic! He catered to our orders exceptionally well, was attentive and ensured we had a great experience. Overall, fantastic experience to celebrate the wonderful ladies in my life.

When we arrived the staff wanted to first seat us in the bar, and even though main dining room was almost empty it took them a bit to find us a table there. First strike. ( we had a reservation) My filet mignon was pretty tasty but was not done to how I ordered it. I ordered medium rare - it was at least medium- almost medium well. Second strike. Side of potatoes very lackluster. Brussels sprouts were good. Dessert special - chocolate torte - very lackluster- not much taste. Third strike. Won't go there again for dinner.

We had a gift certificate for dinner, and we were delighted with the food and the couple next to us who have gone there for a long time. The wait staff was ready, friendly, answered all our questions and did not compete. They work as a team! We can't wait to go again.

For a mid-day nicer dinner out in Lamorinda, we've often opted for the bar seating section of Park Bistro but we sat in the main restaurant this time. The restaurant recently was renovated with new upholstery on the chairs and paint -- it is subdued and attractive but a bit institutional feeling in the main restaurant. The bar area is nicer but it struck us as very dark in there (light outside at 6pm but it looked like 10pm). The color choices on the fireplace wall are dark gray which would be lovely in winter, but overall we felt like it looked to dark for the time of dining for us. Appetizers were good -- I like the deviled eggs but item has changed somewhat (used to have thin cut bacon on top, now a crouton). The pulpo/octopus appetizer was delicious. Mary's Chicken, always a standard, was a bit dried out this time, and my husband's beet salad was generally good but a couple of the golden beet slices were fibrous as in not roasted enough. We had 3 glasses of wine between us, the octopus, eggs, beet salad, and Mary's chicken entree - tab was $160 before tip. So it's not an insignificant cost.

Avoid this place if you’re local. If you’re staying at the hotel - idk, maybe eat at the bar. Atrocious service. Tables were bussed by our server before our bill was taken. Two or three words was said by our server in each interaction. Unbelievable.

The filet mignon was one of the best I’ve ever eaten. The broccolini was perfectly al dente and the potatoes were on point. It was a wonderful meal.

My only complaint is that it took a long time for our dinner to be served. But since the food was delicious, if that's the trade off (taking longer to prepare), then I'm OK with that. But if it was some other reason, like forgetting about our order, etc. then that would not be acceptable.

Paige is AMAZING. Burger was just OK last night. I really wish they bring the all day menu back. I miss the French Dip and the Heff (Rueben with Bleu cheese). If it weren't for Paige it would be average

The food and the service are impeccable. I live in New York. Travel to Europe and all over the world. The staff one is better than the next. They are so thoughtful and sweet. Adore this place

We arrived before our spa treatment and enjoyed ourselves a beverage. And after our treatment we went for a late lunch and the food , drinks and service was wonderful. Maxwell , the bartender was very helpful and attentive. I've been several time and will definitely be back.

Snooty hostess with an attitude...beyond rude! Had reservations for brunch for our friends birthday. Asked to be seated in cozy bar area...hostess said they hadn't served brunch there for last 4 years, though we had been seated there twice in the last year. Oh well, we waited along with six other parties, two left after a while. After we were seated our poor waiter said we had to get the order in immediately as the kitchen closed at 10:30...wow, we had a 10:00 and barely got our order in. He was the only waiter for the entire dining room and seemed totally frazzled so can't fault his bad attitude. Weird to offer brunch on a weekend and have it end at 10:30. Not good. Food was OK but not hot. Really it is obvious that the restaurant only caters to hotel guests who don't know there are so many wonderful options nearby. We will not return after having this experience.

We enjoyed our late lunch leading up to the 2024 Pliny the Younger at the Park tasting. Shared the deviled eggs, I had the crabcakes & my dining mate had the grilled cheese & tomato soup. We enjoyed everything & was amazed how Krissia not only took care of us but pretty much the entire diningroom...bar included. Had been a while since we dined here so will be back.

This was my first time having breakfast at this beautiful Bistro. The staff was courteous and always checking on our table for anything we may need or want. The food was delicious and the ambiance of the Bistro was lovely. We will definitely be going there again.

Went to dinner there in Valentine's Day when I arrived I was told that I had no reservations after receiving confirmation. Waited 20 mins for a table after being seated we got water n then they left us for another 20 mins. Came and got the drink order left us another 20 mins. Out of a four course menu we only received 2 items salads an soup. The portions were so small it felt like we weren't even eating anything. It was hard finding our waiters and management finally came over at around 930pm to apologize about the wait for the food and we never found out what happened. I was given 3 complementary drinks but nothing to eat while waiting, and the drinks were given to us so slowly we stopped wanting them. It's now 945pm with no food, we waited until 10pm without receiving any updates or the food is self and we got seated at 830pm. Told the manager we needed to leave and he took care of our meal and right when we said that our food was ready after all of that we almost didn't want it but we took it anyway. Overall won't be come back EVER!!!
