This turned out to be a great find. Everyone loved their food. It is clearly made with care and the recipes are delicious. Good portions at reasonable prices. They have a good size patio area as well as plenty of indoor space. We loved the fun repurposed seating like church pews and theater seats.Special shout out to a seriously spicy bloody Mary.My wife only at half her breakfast burrito as it was quite large. She loved the roasted green salsa.Myself and others enjoyed their take on shrimp and grits. Such a great combination of flavors. Not that many people there for Sunday brunch time which was surprising as so many people wait in line for brunch at other places not nearly as good.Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs, just curb at sidewalk

Nice decor and music. Service was poor. Had to ask several times for water. Wasn’t asked for another drink until they picked up our plates. Side of of potatoes and table salsa were great. Guacamole was too salty. Bloody Mary drink was more like a smoothie. Combination azteca - enchilada de mole was good. Tamal was overcooked rendering the masa too mushy. Overall, food wasn’t terrible but not good enough to make me want to come back a second time and definitely not accurate enough of an experience to rate it anything beyond the 3 stars

This is the best medical restaurant. Everything is delicious and well made. They use the best ingredients and the food is out together with care.

Very well-presented high-end Mexican food. Prices are higher than one would expect at a California Mexican restaurant but the food quality is refined and the price per plate is appropriate for the refined menu.

Bummed to have to write this review, but my family and I went to Balvinas excited to try a new Mexican food place local to us. Arrived at 515 to an empty restaurant, no server greeted us as i think just the manager was there. Once seated the manager to 10 plus minutes to get our drink order with no other customers in the restaurant. We ordered our food, and after about 30 minutes our plates arrived. I had ordered the lamb shank Borrego. Took 2 bites first was hot second was ice cold, so cold I had to send it back as it must have just come out of the refrigerator. The lamb shank came back after additional 15 minutes boiling hot. At that point all others in party had finished their food, so we left. No apology, no compensation for poor quality. Not sure how this place has gotten the reviews it has so far.It is not kid friendly at all. No kid menu. Just 3 items and only if you ask them.

Wow! Incredible! The food, service, and ambience are superb! We ordered the Queso Fundido (first time trying it), Mole Poblano, and Pozole Verde with a nice glass of Baya Baya… We were beyond satisfied! We will definitely come again as I will try everything on the menu.

Bit of a crowd gathered as we waited for the doors to open at 5. Food was good, they were very knowledgeable about ingredients and allergies and willing to substitute as needed.Dietary restrictions: Were gluten free and out server was very knowledgeable about ingredients and willing to sub sauces to accommodateParking: In a shopping center with plenty of parkingKid-friendliness: They have high chairs

Came in for breakfast. There was two sets of family there. We ordered an appetizer took 20 minutes for that to come out . We are now waiting 45 min for our breakfast. A party of 4 came in after us and they have ordered and gotten their food while we are still waiting. The server hasn't come by to say I'm sorry it's taking a little longer. Nothing. We keep getting ignored . I will definitely not come back again. Service is slow. Server is not attentive . Pros when the food finally arrived it was good. But definitely not the worth an hour wait to get our food.

I found this restaurant via yelp when my son and I needed to find a place in Laguna Hills. Reviews were accurate. Excellent food! I got the Huevos Rancheros and my son the Chilaquiles. Probable the best Huevos Rancheros I've ever had (didn't care for or eat the potatoes) and my sons good too but too spicy for me. Coffee also was excellent. We'll come back here again as it's excellent and a good mid point for us to meet from Redondo and Carlsbad.

First time trying this place and I have found a new local favorite place. The food was 10/10, service was amazing, and the place is nice and beautiful. I had the steak and eggs it was great. If you're trying to have a nice brunch or dinner this is your spot.
