The ambience of the restaurant was superb! The food on the other hand was not so great, the guacamole was mediocre and not worth $15, the main entrees were not warm and we had to send one order back as it was done incorrectly. Overall not a pleasant experience and definitely not worth the price overall. I don't think I ever plan to return.

I have been told to stop into this restaurant for years. It was Taco Bell when I was growing up. My wife and I went for dinner and I was very disappointed. Service was super slow. Yes they were busy but it shouldn't take 30 mins to get our food. The chicken on my meal was definitely per cooked. Very blamed and just not good at all. My wifes dinner looked much better than mine. She enjoyed the margarita. If it wasn't for the guacamole they would be getting 1 star. I don't understand why they are so busy. NOT GOOD AT ALL.

Went there twice and each time found chicken bones in my enchiladas they don't do a good job shredding the chicken and they are overpriced

gotta say, I grew up eating El Ranchito back in my hometown, Huntington Park. If I'm being honest: Not the same. What makes me come back again and again is consistency. It's been lost here. Therefore, I must refrain from any future visits. I gave them an overall 2 Star only because of the smiles given when first contacted. I had the Azteca burrito as I've had for over 40 years, and my wife had the chicken fajitas, and my granddaughter chose the Beef ...what looked like cut-up flautas Coliolingas or something like that anyway, the cook must have been sleeping because where did the flavoring go? WHERE'S THE SAZON? Anything, I don't care. Luckily, there was cheese to drown out the flavorless beef.
Great food, margaritas and staff! Our fav maexican spot! Our family comes here at least once a week.

I’ve been to several Avila’s and have thoroughly enjoyed meals there, until tonight. We visited the Lake Forest restaurant and, after a 40-minute wait, were escorted to a table to find out it wasn’t for us. Back to the waiting area for another 10 minutes. Okay, not a big deal. Once seated, four of us ordered and ate full meals with margaritas and beer. When plates were cleared the waiter repeatedly asked if we wanted anything else. Finally he told us we had to leave—after just 1 1/2 hour. I’ve heard of a two-hour time limit explained upfront, but this stunned all of us and was a real bummer.

Worst service ever not only was our food cold , had to ask for water almost four times. The waiter was so rude. The salsa was awful, the chips stale. Been here a few times and it gets worse every time. Won't be going back
