Only had their ribeyes and carne asada here and not often at all. Really a big splurge. The butchers are always helpful and welcoming. The ribeyes are great for me if I'm eating alone. I'd have to go to Costco if I'm feeding more people. It seems like el toro has a richer flavor. The carne asada is also a high quality meat but I'm not a fan of the marinade- too sweet or too much herbs. A street taco at a hole in the wall is more satisfying if you are in a street taco mood.

Staff is always helpful and knowledgeable. Quality is good, I do like another butcher slightly more but it is quite a drive, so el toro is my usual spot. They always have the cuts I like and have no issues cutting something for me if I'm being extra lol The taller butcher gentleman is always funny too so I enjoy having small chats with him.

Great place for meat and seafood, but they don't sell live lobsters and no Maine lobsters either, just California spiny tail.. (no Maine ). But I've bought sausages from here and they were perfect! And well priced, I tried a Tomahawk cut and fillet steak.. If the price was less, I'd stop going to Costco.. but it is what it is.. Service is great, real knowledgeable butchers.. and they sell other items to complement your meat.. I do wanna try the hamburger meat from here, maybe next time

I have ordered three things from there... A leg of lamb which turned out awesome, a sirloin roast - couldn't be any better. And four sandwiches that were delicious.

Nothing is ever second rate at this store. I trust it with all of my celebrations, like upcoming Thanksgiving prime rib.
Phone-in pickup order with Bob for wild boar was very convenient. We needed this for an ethnic dish. We had a party of 9 that agreed it was tasty, almost like bison. So 5/5 rating on this experience. Next time I would be very interested in wild boar belly cut and other wild fish and game.

Great spot ! Delicious Carne Asada but at $21.99 a pound it’s expensive. Missing the good old days when it was $14.99 a pound. ☹️

We visited this business for the first time; the gentlemen (employees) were all nice and professional. We purchased deli items, seafood, and meats. And received a great tip on a Kettle Korn in Laguna Hills.
