We had takeout from this wonder BBQ last night. They are serving Grab and Go from the Elk's Lodge Kitchen. We ordered two beef rib and two pork rib dinners. The dinners came with a choice of two sides. We chose the beans and potato salad. Our meals came hot with a roll and butter each. The serving size was great, generous. This is just not only BBQ, it is dry rubbed and smoked in a real southern smoker. Better than any BBQ in the area. This is like BBQ we have had in Texas. There was a lot of meat on the ribs, the beef rib dinner has one beef rib, it is about 12" long, huge. My mother said this was the best BBQ she has ever eaten (she's 82) There was sauce supplied, but you don't need sauce. The meat is tender and falls off the bones.

I finally tried them out at the Lakeside farmer's market after driving past on many prior Sundays. Sadly, I doubt I'll be back. I got a $20 plate(awfully expensive for a farmer's market) with ribs, brisket and 2 sides. I meats were ok but that fat was not fully rendered so they were not as appetizing as they could have been. For the sides I got the beans and the smoked veggies. The beans were pretty good but I was very upset that the veggies had clearly come out of a frozen bag and not what I was expecting. There is an organic produce booth right next to them each week and I can't for the life of me figure out how they serve frozen vegetables when they could get wonderful fresh and organic stuff 10 feet away? The next time that I crave BBQ, I'll go to Phil's where the quality and value are much better.

Tried them out at the Lakeside Farmer's Market. Took almost 10 minutes just to make two plates, service was very disorganized. The meats (ribs and brisket) and smoked vegetables tasted like they use A LOT of liquid smoke. Maybe their other items are better.

Great Food and Service. Very friendly. I got the Sampler Plate. The food was great. The meat was well cooked and not overpowering but Still have great flavor! You don't even need the sauce but it's great as well and only kicks it up to another level. Well Done!

Sunday BBQ stand @ corner of Los Coches/E. Main:B E E F R I B S...... special order ($30.00 Pre-paid) Was promised (6-8) ribs...... was given only 5. They had almost no meat on them. Not even enough for the dog! Shame on you guys! On the (+) side, BBQ sauce tasted great! Probably had more meat in it.Mike in Lakeside

This little BBQ "engine that could" amazed these taste buds as well as the family's!My mom had the pulled chicken sandwich with coleslaw and mac-n-cheese - she almost licked her plate! My husband had the Polish sausage, which just came off the smoker sitting behind the tent. It was juicy and well-smoked. I had the mac-n-cheese with pulled pork on top (yes; it's real, look at the pics below) -- pork was nice and smoky; mac was creamy. Oooh, the baked beans tasted like my grandma's - sweet Southern-style.There are two BBQ sauces - one "mild" and the other "hot". My mom and I tried the mild version, which was sweet with a little kick and matched the meats perfectly. We'll definitely be back to the Santee Farmer's Market for more BBQ!
