Hubby and I were craving for Korean fried chicken and searched up places on Ubereats to try. We were sold on this one and placed an order for golden original and spicy golden original. The chicken was yum and super crispy! I highly recommend their spicy golden chicken. My eldest doesn't eat spicy food but she said the flavor was too good and would suffer through heat haha. Food also came with pickled radish. Highly recommend giving this spot a try.

Really this should be 3.5 stars, but I'm lowballing to offset their current rating.Friendly staff and a generally bright, clean (takeout) atmosphere doesn't make up for overseasoned, mediocre crusted, DRY chicken. Dry, dry, dry. How do you dry out a thigh?RANT and I'm aware this is my own personal rant, but when I order a whole fried chicken (for $33!) I want to see just 4 possible pieces: leg, wing, breast, thigh. Not a random jumble of similarly sized mystery pieces hacked out of a chicken carcass. Having fried many a chicken, you in theory would butcher the thing into these chunks because 1. it's a more shareable meal and 2. the pieces would all be cooked in a similar time so you correct for less over- / undercooked pieces (a whole breast and a whole wing don't cook in the same amount of time). BUT... have I mentioned the chicken was still DRY? You also may create the *appearance* of more chicken with numerous mystery chunks, but you don't know what you're biting into with each chunk (bone? gristle? excessive mediocre crust? dark meat instead of white, or vice versa?) and in actuality you're just increasing grease and crust, not chicken. Having been forced to consume fried chicken as tenders, nuggets, fingers, strips, boneless wings, etc. everywhere else I mourn the loss of just whole pieces of actual chicken... End rant, and apologies if none of that matters to you.

We were really excited to try this place out, since we've heard great things about the friend chicken! The ambiance was very calm; there's two tvs with random shows / news on and great taste in music running in the back. The server was very nice and accommodating, which is why I'm leaving 2 stars. It did take 20-25 minutes for us to receive our order so we had extremely high expectations. We spent around $14.99 for the small (8pc) honey garlic boneless & $12.99 the boneless combo with honey garlic boneless, steamed rice and a side of pickled radish w/ a drink. Honestly, the combo wasn't a bad deal and the serving size was alright. The first one or two pieces were great - it had flavor but the chicken was alright. However, the more we ate, the more we noticed it was 95% fried batter and barely any chicken. We didn't understand until we saw the other low reviews regarding the boneless, specifically the lunch combo. In addition, our rice wasn't the white rice we were expecting - it looked old. It's unfortunate how things turned out but both me and my significant other had really bad stomach aches, most likely from how much fried batter we consumed. We started eating on 11/28/23 at 2:40pm -- 4 hours later and we still feel sick. I saw in an older review that someone had gotten food poisoning before so that may be the case :(

Food poisoning. I ordered Sunday evening and woke up Monday with an upset stomach. I called the restaurant early morning and left a VM of my symptoms but received no call back. I called the restaurant in the afternoon in hopes to get a partial refund due. A cashier answered and I asked for a manager. He asked me what I had ordered (Chak Chak Chicken, Garlic Chicken, and Galbi boneless wings). He added he didn’t think their food would make my family sick and I shared I wouldn’t have wasted my time calling if it weren’t for the symptoms . He continued saying no one else had called reporting symptoms of food poisoning. At this point it’s clear he didn’t want to continue helping me so I asked if I can get a call back from a manager. Never heard since and they lost customers.

Craving a taste of Korea's finest fried chicken? Look no further than bb.q Chicken in Lakewood! These chicken wings are the definition of crispy, juicy, and bursting with flavor. Our top picks? The Gangnam Style and Spicy Galbi wings! But honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. And don't even get me started on the Rose' Ddeok-Bokki - it's a flavor explosion! Dip a chicken wing into that sauce, and you're in for a taste bud party! What we tried:- Honey Garlic Wings- Golden Original boneless wings - Spicy Galbi wings - Gangnam Style wings - Rose' Ddeok-Bokki- Cheese Sticks- Fried Dumplings- Cheesling FriesLove the wall art!! Great service!!

This bbq chicken located in Lakewood. My favorites are their Honey Garlic and Spicy Galbi flavors boneless, and their yummy Rosé Ddeok-Bokki with cheese (a K-food delight) tastes also very yummy. It's the perfect meal for any time, any day. Service is super fast, indoor is neat with cool vibes. I had a great time, definitely will come back!

If you want a totally different fried chicken experience, I’d recommend bb.q it’s always a hit they always bring the flavor with all their sauces. Korean fried chicken is a new concept that’s taking over the world and I’m glad we get a piece of it here in the US. Id definitely recommend the Galbi boneless wings or the Soy Garlic ones the flavor just can’t be beat, it takes a while to cook the food but it’s so worth it.

Amazing Korean fried! One of the best I’ve had in SoCal. I had boneless chicken in cheeseling and honey garlic flavors. They were crispy and very flavorful. Totally remind me of Korean fried chicken in Asia. The flavor is different from Americanized Korean fried chicken.I love that they give white pickle radish as a side for the chicken. In Asia, it’s pretty common but it’s very rare here in LA/OC. The radish was very good. I recommend with any chicken dish!

The worst BBQ chicken location I ever been to.I ordered the lunch special with white rice and soy garlic chicken with diet coke. The chicken was not crispy although it took 20 minutes to cook. They do not seem to be using the same or similar breading for the lunch special chicken or this location just sucks. The cypress or buena park locations are way better. Can't forget about the rice too. The rice was so freaking old that it was turning yellow. Absolutely dry and disgusting. By the look of it, the rice was cooked at least two days ago. Also the cashier didn't seem to care for his job. I don't expect anything out of a cashier at a fried chicken place, but the dude just doesn't want to be there. No emotions, professionalism or whatsoever.

I had no idea that Korean fried chicken was a thing until the couple who own my dry cleaning service recommended this place. Then my Korean American friends were like yeah it's a thing. So I tried this place and wow the chicken is insane. So far I've tried the galbi, honey garlic, Gangnam, secret sauce, and one of the spicy ones I can't remember (but it was HOT). All were really good. Not all are spicy so there is something for everyone.
