Although it wasn't a very luxurious atmosphere, I was surprised by the high quality of the food. In particular, the avocado and eskimo dishes were creamy and special. A very good value house.

Our first time here at Umi's AYCE Sushi and I never had the opportunity to eat at Joe's Sushi so I can't give the comparison review. The best part of lunch was the service. Our server was wonderful. She was very patient and gave a great explanation to the rules of the ayce option. As for the AYCE sushi menu, it was very average. Of the sushi, rolls and appetizers I ordered, there was nothing that stood out as spectacular. Other than the nigiri sushi, everything else had a lot of sauces and filled with a lot of spicy tuna or imitation crab. For the $33.99 price during lunch, I don't think I fully got my monies worth. During the time we went wasn't busy so it was fairly quiet and not a lot of people so we were well attended to. It was nice to finally give this place a try, but I think it's a one and done.

Not great. A waitress didn't seem very friendly. Got served a coke with no ice and she also didn't like that I asked for teriyaki sauce. While waiting I was reading a sign that said " if you don't finish your food you with be charged extra . Food was good but the service wasn't great .

All you can eat sushi! The sushi quality was fabulous and it was plenty of food to fill up my 23 year old son ! The price was great for the quality and the amount, seven of you are not a big eater... service was fast and friendly! I recommend!!!

A friend and I thought we'd check out this all-you-can-eat sushi spot since we enjoy those types of places. We were welcomed by a very friendly server, and even though the place seemed a bit modest upon entering, the warm reception made us decide to stay. After taking a look at the basic menu, we were a bit hesitant but decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately, the rolls were rather basic, lacking in flavor with thin cuts. We wish we had left when we had the chance; you might find better all-you-can-eat options elsewhere.

I wanted to give this place a better review but my experience was uncomfortable. I came in on a Sunday night and was seated immediately. Before even entering the restaurant, one of the kitchen staff was smoking a cigarette. Kinda gross to think someone handling food was smoking regardless if they wash their hands after, hopefully. However, the person who sat me and the waitress that served me were probably the only pleasant part about my experience. Here's what I noticed: it was a normally busy dinner hour for restaurants and while it was nice not having to wait, there were also maybe 3 other tables occupied... and they had just mopped the entry way. It reeked of bleach from the entrance, past the rest rooms and the kitchen, to the seating area. Unless there was a spill, why are the entry points and seating area wet during peak business hours? And furthermore, bleach... maybe not a great idea to put into the aroma if you plan on serving food during peak dinner hours. What I ordered: hot tea- good standard tea, calamari tempura- came with spicy mayo not tempura sauce which was off putting and the calami was just fried and crusty, miso soup-probably the only thing that was good, spicy tuna hand roll- tuna tasted old paired with sriracha, Rainbow roll- fish was not fresh, Paradise roll- fish not fresh and I think they load it with so much sauce to try and cover up the bad fishy taste, Tuna, salmon, shrimp sashimi- fishy not fresh. I had one round I forced myself to finish to avoid paying for left over pieces when I should have spoke up to communicate but felt really awkward to do so after a group of three women literally walked in, was about to sit down, took a look and wiff of the environment, and walked out. The sushi chefs looked like they weren't even surprised, they just giggled to eachother. I paid $50 for one round of AYCE sushi and left hungry then came home and it went right through me. On my way out I ran to my car because there was a sketchy man between the restaurant and liquor store. What I will say is they have a really nice rice to fish ratio for both their hand and cut rolls and sashimi. This place has potential. I want this place to do better. They just reopened this spot from what used to be Joe's. I went once then and didn't return because it wasn't great then either. I'm bummed my experience wasn't great like others have had!

This place is great. Just as good as all the busy ayce sushi spots. You should check them out. Loved everything i ordered and no wait.

First time there under new name. Food was fresh. Portions of nigiri, slices of fish were decent but very little rice, not regulation size or balanced. Tempura was excellent. Not thickly batter but Light and very crispy, sizes of veggies were generous, shrimp acceptable. Gyoza was well seasoned and wonton nicely fried. Don't over order as they will only Allow you to leave two piece of sushi before they charge you for wasting food. They will allow you to take some home, but they will charge you accordingly.

Every time we come I try to take pictures of our food but we gobble it up before I get the chance. The chefs and other staff members are so nice and welcoming ?

Tried the AYCE option here during lunch time on a Saturday. The food was delicious! The fish tasted really fresh. The rice ratio on the sushi rolls was good. There are some AYCE places that pad their sushi with a lot of rice, but not here. Everything literally melted in your mouth. The service was excellent. We were probably their first customer of the day and when we walked in literally everyone greeted us and were happy to see us. The waiter explained everything on how AYCE works at their restaurant since it was our first time there. The waiter took our orders as soon as we were ready and the food came out just as fast. We started with the spicy garlic edamame, shrimp tempura and the gyoza as appetizers but I didn't get picture because they were literally that good. Then we moved on the Salmon, Tuna, Blue Fin Tuna Nigiri and the CA, Black Dragon and Golden Cali rolls. This was just our first round and everything was delicious. The rest of the photos show our second round. The ambiance was chill as well. The music was not too loud, I was able to speak to and hear my friend just fine. The place itself looks very clean. It's literally a hidden spot in the middle of Lakewood. The price for AYCE was reasonable for the quality of food we got. We would have spent more at other sushi places where the quality was not as good as here. You definitely get a good deal with everything that they offer. We have decided that this will be our go to sushi spot.

Great quality at a very competitive price. They also had gifts for the month of December. Would definitely be coming back for all celebrations.

I was disappointed to see Joe's close during the pandemic, but Umi lives up to the memory. It's great to have my regular sushi place back in business and it's as delicious as every. Come and get your ayce sushi here!

The service was great. The variety of hand rolls, sashimi, baked and fresh rolls were very flavorful. I definitely recommend this place for an all you can sushi experience!

Came here for a lunch date and it was pretty empty! We were lucky to find a parking spot since the parking lot was pretty small. We had gotten the lunch ayce and I thought the sushi rolls were decently sized! They're small 8 pieces which makes it easier to try more rolls! Not a big fan of the spicy tuna but that might just be my preference! Service was top notch and I wish I've gotten their name
