This place came highly recommende, unfortunately it did not live up to the hype. We arrived around 11am, which is when they open. We were seated right away in a comfortable booth. The customer service was phenomenal, hence the 2 stars. We ordered the bean dip as an appetizer and chips and salsa were free. The bean dip was not good at all, almost a bitter taste. The salsa had no flavor at all. The chips were just meh. I ordered the chicken enchiladas and my hubby had the chicken tacos. Neither was very good. The chicken in both dishes tasted old. The enchilada sauce itself, also had a bitter quality. The rice and beans were just ok. Sorry to say, this place did not live up the ratings. Oh well.

Very bad service. We went for lunch on Sunday and my daughter and me were ignored we had to leave. We placed order to go and it was never done.

A family restaurant of two generations. They pay attentions to details. The taco salad is better than most I tried.

We went here for lunch. We order and I was told the internet was down to pay with my card. We pleaded order and we waited 30 minutes later nothing. I went to front to ask and my order wasn't even placed. I told them again and they said it's almost out and still no internet so we waited another 20 minutes we were being ignored and nobody saying anything to us. So we just left this place has no customer service what so ever.

Our favorite Mexican food in town. The staff is always friendly & attentive. Eric is the best! He remembers our favorites & treats us like family. The atmosphere is casual & comfortable. We highly recommend this home town restaurant.

Not bad for a Friday night casual outing dinner. The ambience was a typical Mexican restaurant vibe and decor, but a little noisy but no dings because it was a weekend. Food was very good. The Chili Colorado was well prepared, the meat very tender and the tortilla freshly made. My wife had the crane asada, steak prepared to satisfaction. It was a busy evening so no dings for the extra wait before the food. Our server was on point. Friendly and always checking back. Overall, I'll be back.

I had dinner here last Saturday. I ordered the Surf & Turf burrito. The burrito was dry and flavorless. I expected something tasty for $23 bucks. Also the red salsa that's served with the chips was bland. I didn't realize it was this difficult to find a good sit down Mexican restaurant in Livermore.

We drove from San Jose and Oakdale to meet up for dinner last night at El Charro and we had a fabulous night with great service, fabulous drinks and great food. We really enjoyed all the margaritas. The stuffed poblanos, burrito mojado, shrimp chimichanga and shrimp tacos. Whew we were stuffed and so happy. We were there for two hours and never felt rushed by the staff. Excellent job, we will be back again.

I agree with Jessica B's review on the price to size ratio. The food flavor was very good but my burrito was just small. It actually was a good thing as when I usually order a burrito, I eat the entire log and it is too much. However, I could have taken part of it home for later, hence the single star removal. Food taste and quality wise, it was five stars. Very happy with the flavor, just bump up the size a bit. See photo for size analysis. Interior is nice to look at the memorabilia on the wall from the 1950's Livermore rodeo.

Used to be hit or miss here but the chips and salsa are good and the grilled prawn taco plate is delicious, my new fave place after Anita's closed.

Myself and a couple friends went here on a Tuesday night because Taco Tuesday! However, only certain areas are given the Taco Tuesday deal so we had to move tables. My friends enjoyed their food. However, I found my food to be bland and bad. I got a quesadilla which did not look cooked but was very greasy. Additionally, the meat inside was not well seasoned and was dry. I also asked for a side of rice and beans and I got ramkins filled with rice and beans. The beans were fine but very bland. However, the rice tasted worse than the pre-made Spanish rice you can buy in a microwavable pouch. If I go again I'll try something else but it's unlikely.
