Every time I'm here, I'm served well by politie and friendly people. The atmosphere is always positive and casual. Plus, the beer is delicious! I'm picky, and I always find a good, flavorful beer that I love. They also accomodatie bigger groups. Highly recommend!!

Too many breweries in town serve the same old dreck: IPAs, IPAs, and (for a little variety) Double IPAs. It gets old fast! And that's coming from someone who has at least one IPA in her fridge at any given time. One of the many ways Shaddow Puppet stands out is its huge selection of beers, which change frequently. There were stouts, amber ales, blonde ales, sours, a gose, and even a cream ale in addition to a fun array of IPAs. There's definitely a good drink for everyone there. The staff were really friendly, too! I got lots of smiles and nods hello. The bartender was more than happy to answer questions about their brewery and let me sample a few riskier choices. It was a lovely atmosphere! In terms of the beers I tried, the blood orange IPA was by far my favorite. It was tart but not overwhelmingly so. It was reminiscent of the Blood on the Tracks IPA, but with stronger blood orange flavor, which was great. I ended up going back for a full pint of it. The Good Dog Hazy IPA was excellent. As a dog mom, I'm a sucker for anything with a cute dog on it, but luckily this beer had a good design and a good taste. Solid hazy that might supplant Hazy Little Thing's permanent spot in my fridge. I was nervous about Mega Buzz, as it was a double IPA, but the presence of honey made me want to try. And it was great! Definitely hoppy and nowhere near as sweet as mead, but really well-balanced and mellow. I could drink a lot of that stuff! The only disappointment was the Cinch vanilla cream ale. I was hoping for something like a Cali Creamin', but this fell short of that. It was a little too mild and, maybe my palate was shot by all the other beers, but I couldn't taste any vanilla. That being said, this brewery is a must-try for any beer enthusiast in the area. Everything is brewed on-site, the staff are affable and knowledgeable, and the beers are darn good! Can't wait to swing by again.

Bring your own food or come visit a food truck. This place is fabulous. Great spot to hang. Have a beer. Watch sports. Enjoy! They even offer $3 5oz pours. You can try the WHOLE menu!

Super nice staff, lots of indoor seating. The place is kind of hard to find, but GPS helps with that. I love how many beers they have, I just wish there were fewer IPAs. This is definitely a local hang out spot and they have food trucks twice a week so check their calendar to see who will be outside. Add outdoor seating would you?

1 beer down, went to order 1 more and close my tab, was told I already closed it. Told bartender I handed her my card earlier and that i left my tab open. Bartender insisted I never gave my card. (Thought I was being pranked or being taken advantage of while buzzed)Was told to ask the table I was with if they had my card. (They did not have it obviously) Went back to the front, only then did she thoroughly look through booklet of cards and apologized. Sick prank, dude

The bartender, Lisa, made my husband and I’s experience here absolutely wonderful! We moved to the area not too long ago and she was so kind and extremely knowledgeable. We were celebrating and couldn’t have picked a better place. Will definitely be back!

We were looking for a brewery that also had something to eat, for date night. We hit the jackpot! Fantastic beers, love anything hazy and all IPAs. Their selection was imaginative and delicious! Atmosphere was busy but the crowd was chill, we were very comfortable. There was also an amazing poke truck out front. (There are always different food trucks that are scheduled so check that out) Beer and poke go hand in hand, so my husband and I were thrilled. Can't wait to come again!

Definitely the best in town. On par with the best and brightest in the denser Richmond/Oakland brewery community. Like everyone, IPAs are vastly overrepresented (overrated!) but they do those well and they also keep a good variety of other styles, including sours (my own personal biased favorite) — all developed with care and success! Friendly barkeeps and a nice taproom round out the picture. I'd go every day if I could.
