nice decor and staff was friendly. if you know anything about good chinese restaurants, you'll know already that this place is white-washed. to be fair i didn't try the drinks, but the food was overpriced and bland.

This is one of the top Chinese restaurants that I have eaten at. This restaurant has been at this location for at least 20 years that I recall their Peking duck which is tea smoked, never disappoint. They have one of the best walnut prawns in the Bay area. the service is excellent and their wine in liquor bar is exceptional.

Exceptional food...The BEST in the Bay area for Chinese food...HANDS DOWNThe drinks are spectacular too.Parking: The parking has dwindled considerably because they are building apartments in the parking lot. We had to go round a few times but we found a spot finally.

Lovely place and a good vibe to hang out with family or friends. Great cocktails. Lychee Margarita is my favorite. Tried veg fried rice, crispy eggplant, sautéed string beans, Veg pot stickers. Everything was yum. Pit stickers cud be better.

Nestled in the heart of town, Uncle Yu stands as a beacon of exceptional dining experiences. From the moment you step inside, you're enveloped in an ambiance that seamlessly combines warmth, sophistication, and a touch of whimsy. The decor exudes elegance, with tasteful accents that reflect the restaurant's commitment to creating a memorable atmosphere. The service at Uncle Yu is simply unparalleled. From the moment we were greeted at the door to the final farewell, every staff member went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was nothing short of extraordinary. Attentive without being intrusive, they anticipated our needs and provided impeccable service with genuine smiles, elevating our evening to a truly special occasion. Now, let's talk about the food. Oh, the food! Each dish presented a symphony of flavors meticulously crafted to perfection. From traditional favorites to inventive culinary creations, Uncle Yu's menu offers something to tantalize every palate. The freshness of the ingredients was evident in every bite, and each dish was a testament to the chef's skill and creativity. Pictured is the Fried Rice, Mongolian Beef and Duck Spring rolls! Drinks are Mango Cosmo (in the martini glass) and Mai Tai

I thoroughly enjoyed uncle yu’s plump steamed dim sum and the even plumper and steamier hostesses. However his wagyu beef felt like a waste of a cow. Additionally I believe that uncle yu is guilty for false advertising as I struggled to find the vineyard. Overall eating at uncle yu’s at the vineyard in Livermore, California was not only an incredible feast for my stomach, but for my eyes as well! 23/47.98 would eat again!Wheelchair accessibility: There was a cripple at the table next to me?

The last time I was here was during the pandemic and the experience doesn't even compare to my most recent experience. The steak and noodles were great! The bartender made some great Manhattans. He was very attentive and made sure my water and drinks were filled. The place had a medium noise level and was nicely lit. All around a great place to eat!

First thing you'll notice is the place is a bit high end for Chinese food, second thing you'll notice are the prices, and the third thing is how good the food is. If you can get past the price then you'll enjoy some really good food. We like going here because they actually have a GF menu. They tack on a couple of bucks but the GF dishes are just as good as the regular items.

It's been years since I've visited this place. Always pretty decent food. Some items are a hit and miss. Came in for lunch right when they opened. Friendly staff and got seated right away. Cool temp setting and looked the same as I remembered. Once again I forgot to take a photo of everything we ordered..... when will I learn?! Was super hungry so maybe that's why. They have lunch combos that came with a side of hot n sour soup and your choice of steam rice, fried rice or chowmein. Soup was pretty good and you could tell that it was freshly made and. Or sitting or warmed up from a previous day. The side carbs were decent but lacking umami (fried rice and chowmein) The lobster Shumai was somewhat disappointing. Had ok flavor and couldn't taste much of the lobster. Had lots of shrimp in it.... So maybe call it Shrimp and Lobster Shumai? You get 4 pieces some type of broth on the bottom of it. Wasn't great and definitely not worth the price. Mongolian beef and Sole with black bean sauce were decent as well. Id recommend going to a more traditional Chinese restaurant if you want to have a burst of flavor. This place is just ok to me. Of course these are just my opinions. Forget finding a long piece of hair in my friend food while he was taking a bite and pulled it out his mouth...... a tad bit nasty but hey it happens. The server was super nice and we didn't complain really and just wanted to show him the hair. We didn't ask for a comp or anything. This review is solely on the food and not the hair lol otherwise it'd be a lower rating. We're both also shaved heads so yea.... I think a 3 star is pretty fair for ok Chinese food. I'm sure we'll be back with a larger party.

I'm not a foodie, but I am Chinese, and that was a disappointment. I did not enjoy the food. It was overall dry and lacked flavor. We ordered the tea duck and the happy family entree, which tasted like watered-down ketchup.Service was average, but the atmosphere was nice.

My favorite Chinese food restaurant. They also have an extensive wine selection. Not cheap but worth the extra cost. Portions are very big. We'll be back for sure.
