I've been using Lodi Wine Labs for many years for my winemaking support. These guys know the business very well. They are especially helpful and go to great effort to give great service. They also carry an extraordinarily large amount of supplies so they are really my go-to spot for gearing up for a new winemaking season. They have a large selection of yeasts and malolactic bacteria, and even some non-H2S choices. They conveniently sell in carboy and barrel-sized packages and their prices are very competitive. Their transportation is great, often hand-delivering from Lodi to Auburn as they routinely come this way to supply placer county wineries. I've alerted my friends from a world-wide wine-making forum about the great service and availability found at Lodi Wine Labs and I know several have started doing mail-orders in place of the high-priced "More Wine" option. Finally, these guys are a "lab", and support all possible wine measurements. My professional winemaking friends use them and so do I. They have great equipment (appliances) and give fast accurate measures. If you call them, they'll gladly send you handy plastic vials for storing your samples and mailing them or bringing them in. It's rare to find such a high-quality company that still greatly values customer service and consistently delivers 5-star results!

I asked what equipment I would need to make wine. The guy said, "I'm not going to teach you how to make wine." I said you sell equipment I'm asking you what I might need. It went down hill from there. Getting any information was painful. In spite of this I was prepared to order over a thousand dollars worth of equipment. He took all my contact information and never heard back. So rude, unhelpful and incompetent are the key words to describe my experience. This might not reflect the rest of the staff, but this was the guy front and center.Hint: if you are going to be in the sales business make your customers feel valued. When the customer indicates he want to buy, close the deal. If you can't do either of these things you get 1 star.
