I find myself in a dilemma as I write this review because, in short, the food and tea at this establishment are fantastic, but the service has been among the worst I've ever encountered. Despite giving this place a second chance, it has consistently failed in the service department. The first instance involved an online order for curbside pickup. Upon arrival during normal operating hours, we discovered the store was closed. After waiting for at least five minutes, the man responsible came out and apologized, stating he forgot to turn off online ordering, and promised a refund. We made a trip across town for no reason and waited three days for our money to be refunded.Undeterred, we decided to give it another shot in person, especially after seeing on social media that they acknowledged their service issues and claimed to have hired help to address them. Unfortunately, our optimism was misplaced. Despite calling ahead to place an order and confirming they were open, we arrived 25-30 minutes later only to be informed that our order was not ready and the man, appearing flustered and unprepared to run the business, had to run to the store to get a cucumber for our order. During this time, his daughter was left in charge, and it took an hour for us to receive two tea boxes, despite only seeing one other customer in the store.Upon the man's return, there was no apparent handwashing or cucumber washing, which was concerning. However, once we finally delved into the food, the experience improved. The cinnamon rolls, hyped for a reason, were delicious, and the tea sandwiches and birthday cake tea were also excellent.Unfortunately, the atmosphere wasn't to our liking, with loud children and decor reminiscent of the 90s. I am still confused by previous reviews stating it appeared clean. The disorganized shelves of disarranged boardgames proved otherwise. Despite the great food, the two terrible service experiences have deterred us from returning. It's a shame because, with improved service, we would absolutely frequent this place for its awesome food.

My daughters and I had such a nice time at the One Room Escape, the service was amazing and the atmosphere was so cozy. The owner and employees are so kind and thoughtful. I feel so lucky to have found a place to relax like this!Kid-friendliness: It’s hard to find a family friendly restaurant or coffee shop any more but this is a gem! Everyone’s needs were met and we all wanted to come back again and again. I can’t say enough good things about the One Room Escape.

BAD, BAD? IT'SCHANGED NOW! I've been about five times and have referred friends and eaten with friends at this coffee shop, not anymore. Thier supposed to be Christian base, but yet they give a bad name for Christians. First, over charge their pricing and don't charge the price that's on the menu or the menu price on the wall. I've had to correct the cashier every time. They say their menu prices have changed, just not put up their new prices. Why haven't they posted the new prices and yet they charge you the new price at checkout. Well, the prices are extremely high for the amount served. Sadly to say my last visit, my meal was served raw, who serves raw eggs and when I addressed it to the owner rather then preparing a new dish all he did was warm it up. Again, it was still served returned raw. I left the rest of the meal and the portion I did eat, made me sick to my stomach.

Service a little slow and the server forgot to put my order in out of the 7 other women at our table, so they were half done before I got my meal. Food was delicious though but they were out of some sodas and all their pastries.

Easiest escape room ever. I walked in, ordered an Americano and a sandwich. They handed me my coffee and sandwich, and the door was completely unlocked when I walked out. I'm probably just really smart actually.

Great beverages, breakfast and lunch. My sons and I love to come here for a proper English tea, complete with finger sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and lemon curd and tea served in pots and china tea cups. I often get a lunch to go as well. They have a delicious chicken salad sandwich, tomato soup and grilled cheese. Their iced tea is wonderful too. They have fresh baked treats including big chocolate chunk cookies made with See's chocolate.

Incredible food, soups, and coffee. Cinnamon rolls are amazing. House made bread cannot be beat. Place for kids to play as well. Literally my favorite spot in Lompoc.

Love this place! The food was delicious, it was a great opportunity to spend time with another mama friend while we let our kids play in the kids area. Sometimes orders get messed up or take a while but that's kinda part of the charm! It's a really cute spot!

Had a wonderful first experience! Brought my toddler to play in their playroom while we waited for our coffee and cinnamon roll! We enjoyed fresh food and drinks in a wonderful environment. Kids area had so many toys and activities that my 3 yr old didn't want to leave even after nearly 3 hours there!Kid-friendliness: Highly recommend this to any parent that wants to relax while their kids play

We love this place! The kids area is fabulous for us parents and the food is outstanding. Yes, it can take a while, but that is because they make everything in house and it's delicious. I love the specials and that you never know what new drink specials they might have come up with. The tearoom is great for non kids outings and separate enough from the playroom that the two don't interfere with each other. The bacon, avocado turkey sandwich is my current obsession and the kiddos love it too. Last time, I had to order 2 because my kids all wanted some. Keep up the great work. So happy Lompoc has this gem!
