REPORTING: Restaurant shut down permanently. This place was good but their pricing was way too high. Thinking of how Jerry's Deli used to make their pastrami sandwiches which were 3 stories high and priced at $22 a pop w/ pickles and fries. Brooklyn Deli's sandwiches were like Jerry's kids menu size but yet they charged $16 a sandwich with a pathetically small pickle. Oh well, sorry to see you go.

Carrot cake tasted good. The design not so much, I decided to order a carrot cake to celebrate me and my sister in laws bday when I called I asked the host if they could write happy birthday. They said they didn't do that but they could put flowers on the cake to fit my celebration. And asked me what color flowers I liked, so I imagined that these would be actual flowers. I paid an up charge for this and to my disappointment the cake looked terrible. Like a 12$ Walmart cake, super cheap looking. They did a "flower design" with piping and they flowers were uneven and smeared in some areas. When I confronted the host and asked if they could just take them off she said that they only had one person working and that all they could do is refund me and take the cake.... um what was I supposed to do about the bday party. I also had to come back twice to get the cake because it wasn't done one hour before of the collection time. This was because "they had not put the flowers on" which would have been a great time to tell me it was a design. OVERALL this is not a real bakery it is definitely a deli, would not recommend ordering a celebratory cake. I also gave them a chance to call me and sort this out but I'm writing this review because they refused to call or talk to me the day of the incident.

The Pastrami is amazing on rye. Garlic fries were perfection with ample chunks of minced garlic. And if you’re a fan of cream soda - best I’ve had ever.

This place was not great. The garlic fries were just minced garlic thrown onto unseasoned fries. Maybe the other stuff there is good but I would say completely skip the garlic fries they didn’t have a single ounce of flavor or even salt.

Yum! I am pleasantly surprised. The French bread was actually flaky like I love!!!! I had a ham and swiss. My peeps had pastrami. We had to order the carrot cake too of course. They were sold out of the 18k. We had the regular carrot. The frosting was really good cream cheese! Each sandwich comes with a crispy dill pickle too. We all really liked our sandwiches. We will definitely come back.

Update May 2021: We have continued to come here now and then because the food is usually really good. And we cut restaurants a lot of slack these days because the pandemic has really hit them hard. But when you try to call during regular business hours to place an order...and call and call and call, over and over, for 30 minutes...and the phone either is continuously busy, or there is NO answer at all...My husband went over there today and spoke to the one server on duty. She didn't know anything about the phone issues. She did confirm the number we had been calling is correct. The owners weren't around, don't know if the server will mention the problems to them. This place has had staffing problems since the day they opened, usually the issue is not that the servers are not capable, but there are not enough people on duty. This is years before the pandemic. I think they're trying to run this place without spending money, and unfortunately it doesn't make for a good operation. I think we've about had it.

Bought about $100 dollars of food to go, order a pound of brisket that was over cooked and served cold had a taste of old meat, very disgusting. Also got two pastrami sandwiches and for $17.00 each is not worth it l, there many other places serving a better sandwich, I was very disappointed with this place, never again.

This place is the best, so happy we found it! There aren't a ton of Jewish delis in Long Beach, so I was getting frustrated trying to find the perfect club sandwich. This place is it! The food is obviously fresh, and they always get my order right for delivery. Plus, and this may seem silly but it impressed me, is the beautiful fruit cup I got on the side. Not a honeydew or cantaloupe in sight! It's the little things like that that make it a 5 star review!

Omg... I found the best Ruben sandwich at this joint!!My dad use to make the most tender corn beef Ruben sandwich. I never thought I’d find one like his again but today I did!! Everything delicious and fresh!The potato salad so good had a sweet taste to it which made it off the chain delicious!!I can’t wait to try the desert!!
Original Review on 3/12/2015 I normally do not rate anything 5 stars as there is always room for improvement. However, I would rate this Deli 5 stars without any reservation. I ordered The New Yorker which is pastrami with liverwurst on rye bread. This sandwich is one of best sandwich I ever had. The restaurant is clean and airy. This staff is friendly and the food while simple is great. The Rye bread was very fresh, the bread was soft and the crust was crusty. The Pastrami is lean, tender and not dripping with juice which keeps the bread relatively dry. The Liverwurst is rich and flavorful. My buddy ordered the pastrami sandwich and he was very happy with his choice. I would rate this Deli higher than Rocco's Deli. I am definitely going back for lunch again. Update 03/06/2021: - There is no more parking in the front. I went through the alley behind the deli but did not park in the alley as I did not want to block traffic. I parked on the street next to Atlantic which is not too far. I have been retired for a few years now and have not going out for lunch as much. Yesterday, I revisited this deli and ordered the same New Yorker sandwich. I am sorry to report that this sandwich is no longer like the ones I used to get. The Pastrami appeared to be recooked in a sauce. The sandwich is dripping with a reddish oily sauce which made the bread soggy. On top of that the Pastrami tasted a little salty. The garlic fries are so-so, again appeared to be refried. This used to be my favorite sandwich place; now I am not sure if I would go back again. Maybe, after the pandemic is over, I will give this a try again but for now this deli is a pass for me.

Ordered this on DoorDash the other day. I got the chicken salad sandwich which was very dry, I only ate half the sandwich because it just didn't taste good. It's also ridiculously overpriced at about $15. Be warned if you choose potato salad as your side it comes with a very small side, think of a little salsa container doubled. My son got a grilled ham and cheese which was underwhelming as well especially considering the price. He got fries that were not only burnt but also stale. I did enjoy the almond cake and the strawberry cake. For anyone wondering, the strawberry cake is basically exactly like a box mix cake, no actual strawberries. Giving 2 stars for the fact the cakes were moist. Won't be coming back here for a sandwich again.

Went in today for cake. They picture of German chocolate cake on the sign board was labeled chocolate cake. Ordered that. It wasn't german chocolate as advertised. Asked for the german chocolate. They were out. Asked for carrot cake instead, they were out. Left with the chocolate cake. Drove 5-6 mile back to the beach where i live only to experience the most dried out piece of cake ever. Not a hint of moistness. Even the icing was dry. Wont be back

It was okay. The portions very small for the price. I got half a sandwich and soup for 22$. The matzo ball soup was on it's way out, almost sour tasting. The sandwich was good. I don't think I'll try again. The service was great!
