Went here for Sunday brunch. The bummer is that they only have small trays for the traditional breakfast items that many wanted - but larger trays for lunch items like roast beef and enchiladas. But, what I had was good quality.

We were looking for a place for happy hour in the Long Beach/Seal Beach area. Malainey's seemed like a good choice. My first surprise is there was plenty of free and easy parking. I was expecting to have to pay for parking so that's a big plus. Mulainey's is in a marina area with other shops and restaurants. There's plenty of seating and we were even allowed to sit next to a window with a great view of the marina. The happy hour menu is pretty basic, but you can certainly find something to your liking as far as food goes. We had two tacos, $4 each. They were really good and they don't skimp on the meat or ingredients. We also had the tomato basil pizza. $12 It was a good size for sharing and it had an excellent garlic flavor. Wait, it gets better. When you check in on Yelp you get a coupon for free french fries, and they're good, too! The drink deals aren't great, though. They only have two beers on the HH menu, PBR and Coors Light. $5.75 for a pint. Well drinks are $7 on the hh menu. I ordered a Coke and it was $4.95. Kinda' pricey for a Coke, and no free refill. The service was so-so. It took a long time to get our drinks, but we didn't mind. The atmosphere was nice and it was a nice place to hang out for a chat. Also, they have plenty of screens to watch whatever sports events are going on at the moment. They have live music that starts at 7:00 PM. The band was excellent...so good I got up and danced! I'd go back for hh and some good live music for sure!

We have been going to Malainey's since the change from Malarky's. As Covid began to come to an end, Malainey's re-opened and it was pretty good considering not everything was back to normal. However, St Paddys day has brought an end to our visits. Unbeknown to us, they decided to include a gratuity/service charge of $14.02, 18.92% of our bill for two people. This was not explained, nor was it on their web sight or posted. Everything is self service, this was added to our bill, all the server did was deliver water and a check. Additionally, the food was not as good as it has been. The deviled eggs did not taste good, the shrimp was not de-vained and the horse radish sauce was complete sour creme, no taste of horse radish what-so-ever. Another favorite gone........

We came for the Sunday brunch. I need to start off saying the service was GREAT! The gal that helped our table was attentive, quick and always had a smile. The food was plentiful. There was something for everyone. It was delicious, fresh always full. We never had to wait for an item to be refilled. With that being said....the restrooms were atrocious. Down right dirty, so bad that someone has carved into the door, clean this restroom. The doorhandles are coming off the doors, so much that I got locked into one of the restrooms. The counters are cracked, and the doors have dents and need painting. There's toilet paper on the ground and the walls of the bathroom are dirty. I can't even with how gross it is. Who doesn't judge a bathroom? I believe the whole place needs a little touch up. NOT the food though, it's on point!

We went to eat there because I seen a post on Instagram about the place. We loved the ambiance and thank you so much to the bar tender that accommodated us as we were a large group with no reservations. The food was delicious and the service amazing. It was pretty packed.
