The staff is very patient, courteous, & helpful. I was with a group that had never been here before and they all enjoyed it, especially the vegan offerings.

Omg the food was so good. The servings are huge if you decide to do the regular size. There was this rice soup I had and it definitely hit the spot. They were so quick to serve us and very friendly staff! Thank you for the wonderful meal. ❤️

Having a meal at this casual , friendly spot is part of every trip I make to lovely Long Beach.I’ve had delicious meatball sandwiches and salads in the past, but on this brisk day, soup was perfect. Today’s hiuse special soup was Tuscan soup, served with a whole loaf of bread.Service is great and the kitchen does a great job. I love the corner location on Ocean Boulevard and Linden. Thanks Modica’s for never disappointing! Happy ❤️ Day!!

In April of 2023, my videographer and I had finished at FormulaDrift where we filmed for a company called Torque Motorsport. After walking for 12+ hours, we wanted to find a quiet place to have dinner to celebrate our success. As we walked by this location, someone asked us to come in. We politely accepted and the rest was history. The owner, son, and staff were incredibly polite. They asked us about our history in motorsport, spent time talking through the menu, and then recommended their favorite dishes (which were delicious). Afterwards, we met a local resident who visited this restaurant frequently and knew the owners who had seen that I was cold and since a trip back to the hotel would end the night early, offered a spare jacked for me. I was blown away. The owners spent the night with us talking a bit about their racing history & support, their family involvement in racing, and laughed as we tried all sorts of different dishes. A larger group came a bit after us who were also very sweet (and new us from youtube) and it became just 1 big happy atmosphere. I promised this staff I would return in 2024 and I am hoping to do so for the Long Beach Grand Prix with Michelin. Either way, this review is 9 months late, but still well deserved!SincerelyAlexMartini

Looking for something easy and quick. Asked the bell person at the Westin, he suggested Monica's. Had a ham and cheese panini, chips and a drink. ?? Great to sit outside in the sunshine.

The chai latte did not taste good, it was too milky and gross. The cappuccino was not very good and not well made. You can tell the cannolis and tiramisu are pre packaged. Mediocre. Disappointed for sure.

After getting the chicken Parmesan with pasta, I got food poisoning. It was not a pleasant experience at all so avoid at all costs.

Nice hot day in Downtown Long Beach and decided to try 3 specials at Modica's all came out to $36. The soup was light, fresh, mostly broth. The spaghetti had just the right amount of sausage. Ham and cheese was the best!

Truly by the name (modicas.com), there is a restaurant inside serving a few Italian pasta dishes, but the locals know it as a deli and there were plenty of people ordering takeout. I came in from a walk on a Wednesday afternoon, and decided to get a couple of sandwiches to go. You order and pay at the front counter, and it took about 10 minutes for both sandwiches to be made and nicely wrapped.Meatball sub with provolone (8" 10.95+0.75) - 4 pork meatballs on a decent Italian roll that holds up well to the sauce. The meatballs were good, coarsely ground with not too much bread crumbs. medium size.Heart Attack Jack (8" 9.95) - very neat, well crafted sandwich. I love how they use romaine lettuce leaf to give it a beautiful crunch. The same italian roll is soft enough not to make it too hard to eat, but did start to disintegrate a bit the next day. It's a beautifully crafted sandwich, and tasted good (amount of meat was OK).
