Came on a Saturday evening, wasn’t busy but service was still slow. The young lady that took our order was quiet but rude in her mannerisms. She rolled her eyes when we had to flag her down to give her our order. We ordered the papaya salad, spring rolls, and student noodles. It took a long while before papaya salad came out, then the noodles came out well after we finished the papaya salad then the spring rolls showed up. Asked her about the spring rolls when the noodles came out and her only answer was “yes” and walked away. The papaya salad was good. The flavor of the noodles were good but the meat was sparse, too tough to chew and flavorless. Not worth the price. The servers in general weren’t very attentive. The few tables there including ours needed water but they never bothered to come by and refill our glasses or give water to the group that was seated before us. The seating area seemed well kept and clean but their only bathroom was dirty.Parking: Got lucky and got an open parking spot in the small parking lot

For some odd reason every time I’m in Long Beach, I tend to search for a Cambodian spot. 1. Its very uncommon anywhere else in L.A 2. Always down to try new food from different cultures! Cambodian cuisine offers a melting pot of Thai, Lao, Chinese, Vietnamese and Indian spices clearly, through the agricultural and spice trade. This is probably the fourth Cambodian restaurant I’ve visited in Long Beach. The vibe and décor are very cultural and cute. It’s a small restaurant with 3 booths, 8 top in the middle and 12 top on the other side. The service was very friendly, the walk to the restroom was interesting because I got to see the kitchen which was filled with aunties and uncles, seemed like a family business for sure!Come during lunch because the specials are worth it!Ordered#17 Khmer BBQ Pork with rice 5/5 – BBQ had a nice glaze to it, paired well with pickled veggies and spicy sauce#24 Mint Leaf Chicken with rice 5/5 – Similar to Thai basil chicken but instead they used mint and even topped it with an egg!#27 Student Noodle 5/5 -Enjoyed how these were served with thin noodles, the flavor was delish (similar to pad thai)The parking lot is small, I was lucky to have found a spot! Give them a try!

Straightforward service and dishes came out in a timely manner. They give a lot of rice so you'll be guaranteed to be full. Got the Asian Catfish with Mango sauce, Steamed Chicken, Khmer Vegetable hotpot, and shaken beef. Highly recommend this

The beef skewers are amazing! Soft, flavorful, aromatic! Phnom Penh noodles were great, especially with the chili sauce. And the tofu bites, crispy and bursting.

If i lived near by I would come back. Just for the porridge #33. I can have that all the time. And if its early enough in the day, the Thai ice tea too. Life would be complete.

Soooo good! I had the Khmer noodle (pictured), my partner had the mint leaf chicken. Both were great but the Khmer noodle was stellar! The chicken also came with an amazing bone broth soup. Nice chill vibe (even the background music), cute place, fabulous service. We’ll definitely be back; see you there.

Stopped by for lunch after the Long Beach Half Marathon. There was a table open so we were able to sit down quickly. We were tended too by a young woman that was verrrrrrryyyyy quiet. We were concerned our order would be wrong since she wasn't writing anything down. ? She did miss one thing, but it was rectified right away. The food was all freshly made, so it did take a bit to receive and the table wasn't all served at the same time, which made things a bit awkward. Nonetheless, I'd definitely return as the food was delicious.I recommend to anyone seeking authentic Cambodian cuisine.

This is a great authentic Khmer place in Cambodiatown. They have Cambodian decor decorated and music playing. I noticed many local Cambodians come here as a local spot. The guy waiter took our order and made sure everything was okay. The girl waitress was very quiet and timid. All of the dishes didn't come with a side of rice, which you need to order that separately. My favorite 2 dishes was the beef skewers. It reminded me of the skewers I had on the streets in Cambodia. The beef lok lak was great with the seasoning it came with. We also got the crispy duck which had little meat on it. I think the crispy pork was little bit too hard to eat on the outside. I recommend trying this place out.

Came here on a whim due to a work retreat. I can say that I went on a culinary journey. I don't think I have ever eaten Khmer food before and it was familiar yet different. I recognized some of the flavors, but it was different from my Sino-Vietnamese taste buds. The restaurant was homey, loud, and raucous. It felt very authentic. We had the papaya salad, duck noodles and prahok crème. The server was attentive and was nice. Ingredients were very fresh too!

For dinner a few nights back we wanted to try authentic, Cambodian food. We chose Monorom because it was a family-owned business and we always love to support those. ( Note: You should always try and support family businesses because the food is more likely made with love, and with authentic-traditional receipes. It's better than supporting a large corporation where the food is mystery meat. Trust me! )I ordered their fried dumplings, and the beef loc loc' while my son ordered their boat noodles with spring rolls. It was delicious! The dumplings were crispy and full of flavor, the beef was delicious as well and the rice was soft -- I know lots of places serve hard rice. This place did not. My son said the boat noodles were delicious! He added fish sauce to it and he was even more in love. He said the spring rolls had a good taste and he loved how the portions were -- 50/50 Veggies and shrimp. Not only that, but the service was so amazing! Our waiter was the owner's son I assume. He was really quiet and shy, but he was friendly and was a great listener. He came back to our table a few times making sure we were enjoying our food. You can tell he was tired, but at least he wasn't grumpy! The owner of the resturant was this lovely couple -- They were so polite. The wife was so funny. She knows how to make small talk. The husband was a great listener, just like his son. He also knew how to crack a joke. I am 100% coming back again. Not only was the food delicious and I would love to visit to try more items on their menu, but I would also love to visit to see the owners again. They are such genuine and sweet people! Bless their souls. The only reason this is 4 stars, and not 5 is because of the prices. We ordered 2 main dishes and 2 side dishes yet the bill came out a little pricier than I'd prefer. However, I wasn't too stuck on that because again, it was delicious and to me it was worth the price. It may not be for you if you're on a budget though. But if you want real Cambodian food and don't mind spending a little money, definitely try Monorom. 10/10 experience. Will be back soon!
