We were greeted properly and had our choice of seating upon entering. The restaurant was quietly busy, but we felt attended to throughout our meal. The scone was buttery, moist and delicious. We ordered crab cakes and roast beef hash. Both were excellent choices- seasoned well with crispy edges!

This is one of those restaurants that won't serve you a bad dish. If it's on the menu, it'll be good. Definitely try the stuffed french toast.It's not a huge space, so be prepared to wait a bit, especially for parties over 4! It's worth it though.The only frustrating thing upon return visits (which have been many) is the uncontrolled acoustic energy. There are no acoustic panels on any walls or ceiling, so the music and other voices echo around all the hard surfaces and make conversation difficult. Acoustic treatment on the ceiling (see The Breakfast Bar on 4th Street) or acoustically treated wall art would go a long way in bringing any semblance of intimacy to the place.Parking: Street parking in the neighborhood, usually spots free within a block.

Relaxing place to enjoy delicious breakfast with prompt and friendly service.I tried the breakfast Polenta, I was a bit surprised it came out like a nice dessert, ha ha. I enjoyed it very much.My friends had the twice baked granola and omelettes, they liked their dishes as well.It was a reunion breakfast, and we were there for a while (90+ min), the server came by many times to top our coffee which was very nice.Parking: avoid Thursday morning if possible, no street parking on one side of the street due to street cleaning. Mist of my party had to find spaces pretty far away. I was lucky to get a space right across the street as someone left.

chicken-melt was extremely messy, open-faced, and seemingly on 2 pieces of bread, which should have been CUT; instead it was like one giant piece which had to be torn apart. ingredients however were great. french toast was decadent in the best way. service unfortunately was non-existant. so definitely mixed-reaction. my first and only time there.

What an amazing place. Their service is impeccable. We arrived to a wait... There were two of us... We were seated very quickly, promptly ordered and had our perfectly prepared food within 5 minutes of sitting down. They have their service down like few places I've ever had breakfast. The food is amazing... The prices are great.... I can't love this place any more than I do. You will not be disappointed.

Excellent service and a total welcoming vibe. I've come here on a couple separate occasions always for breakfast or brunch. This time, my friend ordered the Stuffed French Toast with Seasonal Berries, lovely presentation and (he said it was delicious, too!). I opted for The Classic and it was delicious as well. All in all, another lovely experience.

The staff here is amazing! The young lady with the short hair, I think her name was Crystal. Such a bubbly server, she made my visit here outstanding, always serving with a smile! 10/10 recommend. The French toast was heavenly! I suggest getting it if you decide to come to this dinner. The place is very clean and organized, I had no complaints and I’ve came here often!

After being stuck inside for a week with a bad cold we ventured out to treat ourselves to a nice lunch. Upon arriving to our usual breakfast/lunch spot we were kind of rudely told they were closing in 20 minutes and we needed to hurry (this was an hour earlier than the posted closing sign) we definitely felt a little under appreciated as we've been eating here for 20 plus years and were treated so badly. Super hungry we tried the Starlight dinner and will never look back! The interior felt warm, fresh and clean, service was OUTSTANDONG from beginning to end, food was fresh and expertly prepared for a good price. Cant wait to try everything on the well thought out menu. Thanks from your new regular customer!

Wow. I have been coming to Starling diner since 2015. Overall they’ve had about the same staff. Each person is always so welcoming and so attentive to what you need. Your coffee is always full. The food is great and everyone is so friendly.As far as the food, of course my go to is the French toast. I love all of them, but my favorite is the apple brandy. Make sure you get scones AND the salmon crostini while you wait!
