I've been here before but it's 25 miles away and if traffic is bad, nah, I'll pass. I always prefer supporting the independent mom pop business! This is a tiny mom and pop shop with no interior dining space. There are 4 outdoor round picnic tables with solid sunshades. Frankly the only thing I've tried about 6 times is the chicken. It's pressure cooked/roasted so it's not deep fried. I like to think it's healthier. It's never greasy but the pieces are small. The plate comes with baked sliced potato slices with seasoned salt and a choice of one side. The side comes in a small individual serving size. I get the potato salad which doctored store bought but I like it. The pork and beans are out of a can. But sometimes I like the backyard choices with a bit of this and that. Check their menu out because they offer subs too. The food is prepared to order so if it's lunch time be prepared to wait about 15 minutes. Chicken is not seasoned. Rear parking is limited as is street parking. I wish they'd go to larger pieces and sides. Next door there is a pasties shop aka as dough stuffed with some kind of meat filling. I've only been there once and it was delicious so while you're at the chicken place getting chicken or fish and chips or a sub, you can also try a pastie.

This place is a local gem, been coming to this spot for the best broasted chicken you can ever have! Owners are friendly and service is great! I highly recommend to call your order in first, as it takes time for this tasty treat! The potato salad and Coleslaw are good too! They also have a variety of drinks in the cooler, ice cold! The old school Steelers memorabilia is also pretty cool to see!Parking is plentiful, check it out!

Great broasted chicken! Love the fact that you can buy large catering quantities. Our family also liked their macaroni salad.

The chicken is delicious, moist (even the white meat pieces) and feels like a decent deal compared to most restaurants lately. I ordered an 8 piece meal with macaroni salad and added some biscuits. The food is made to order but wellworth it when it's fresh and hot. Plus it doesn't give me indigestion like KFC does and feels less greasy. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

My husband has been craving broasted chicken and this place was the closest to our house. The chicken was so flavorful. We had a 1/2 hour drive home and it was still pretty warm.

This place was really good. Chicken was seasoned crispy and juicy. Amazing service too they made one small mistake and offered us free soda to make up for it. Definitely try this out.

WOW....I cannot believe the reviews...... I have never been to Pittsburgh or know if this is what or how chicken and fish and chips taste like in Pittsburgh, but if it is, remind me not to order fish & chips or fried chicken if I ever go. To start, the fried chicken nice and crispy, also moist, so they get a star for that. They forgot the taste, at least in my opinion. I could not really find the taste, other than just salt and maybe a little pepper and paprika or seasoning salt. The Fish pieces seemed like something I could buy at a regular supermarket, not fresh, in short frozen. It was mashed fish not filets. Just so you know. The chips, well they were not fries, they were potatoes pieces slices like large thick coins. Not sure if they were fries or cooked on the skillet, but they were dry, some were seasoned with something others were not, the point is they really did not even taste like potatoes. The roll, well, took one bite and maybe I would have eaten it if there was butter, but no flavor either. Personally, I would not comeback or recommend this place over the colonel or other chicken places. I will say, the lady that was the cashier, cook and server was nice. Not sure what the other food is like, but again , do not plan to come back.

Tried this place because of there being so many positive reviews. Maybe it was an off day but the broasted chicken was dry, overcooked and the skin was chewy. The flavor of the skin was quite good but the meat was tasteless. The brasted potatoes were pretty good though. I will be fair and give it one more try though.
