The food is a little expensive for being $10/p to get in, but the food is pretty good (not great, but better than decent). The service is also lackluster. We asked both the ticket taker at the door and the bartender who told us to just sit anywhere and we'd get served, which didn't happen. We waited about 20 minutes before I just went up to the bar and ended up placing the food/drink orders there which WERE brought out to us later. I also had to get up and walk to the bar each time to get any refills. So that was weird (offering table service but then basically getting none). It's a sports bar, so it stinks a bit but it's not UNclean. Probably will skip this place next time and save some money.

Solid bar with friendly staff, pool tables and the live horse racing right outside is an awesome experience!

Grand OpeningFree admission & complimentary appetizersEven though I live locally to Los Alamitos Race Course, I've never actually visited. I've been meaning to check out the annual wiener dog races, but have not done so for various reasons. Recently in the mail, I received an advertisement for the opening night of The Lounge.Touting free admission & complimentary appetizers, the stars aligned and I made sure to be the first one in line at the entrance.Boasting more than 60 large flat screen TVs (w/ NFL Sunday Ticket), a Touchtunes jukebox & 3 pool tables, The Lounge offers entertainment of all sorts. The complimentary appetizers were served buffet-style. The options were sliders w/ French-fried onions, buffalo wings, nachos & platters of cheese, fruit & vegetables..Promo girls informed guests about the various drink specials going on, handing out schwag as they went.Service was okay. None of the waitstaff came by & asked if I wanted to order a drink, as I was stuffing myself with my fourth plate of sliders & wings, watching the Laker game on TV. Hey, I was in a sport coat, so I looked decent, at least. The Lounge seems to be a viable Happy Hour option for those that may frequent the Los Alamitos Race Course. $5 general admission sounds ridiculous to me, if planning to visit only for The Lounge. However, those addicted to betting on the ponies have a new & updated place to watch sports and knock back a few, fantasizing about a trifecta.
