Do not expect anything extra- not even a smile from this place. Over priced, lacking in quantity and customer service. After 11 years of working near this place, today I am done. I ordered a sandwich cold and asked for the halves to be wrapped separately. The lady misheard me and began to heat it. The manager comes out and corrects the error. Instead of making me a fresh sandwich, I am served a semi warmed sandwich. When I asked about this, manager rolls his eyes and blows me off. You may think you can treat customers like this because you are in Los Altos, but Sir,you need a lesson in customer service and kindness. The customer is always right. Good bye, Alottas!

Best sandwiches in Los Altos, but sure wish it was open longer (and on Sundays).

Overall would say this is a fair place to go , had driven by for awhile and finally decided to stop and try. They served breakfast 8-10 and lunch 10-3 closed on Sundays. One thing will say very positive as this place is kept exceptionally clean. That is very attractive as a cafe these days. Had the bacon breakfast burrito and it was fair , cooked well with some good hot sauce that seemed to be homemade. Didn't overly excite me as sometimes these mom and pop places do but glad I tried it The service was friendly and reasonable time to make the burrito fresh Little lite on the bacon but reasonable in price Give this place a try and let me know what you think

Had a sandwich from there with tax and requested tip I paid $18 - it was not good the bread tasted doughy although they say made fresh everyday - it was relatively small - and tasted basic - should have gone to Andronico's about 50% of the price or even Subway next door is much better.

I haven't been here in close to a decade. I remember it was good and my husband and I used to walk from our house to get lunch. Stopped by the other day and picked up a few BLT sandwiches. The bacon were generous but the sourdough bread didn't wow me like it used to. Overall still a decent sandwich option around here now that Sandwich Spot closed.

The owner is not the friendliest. I tried to ask him about his top sellers that I could try and he doesn't really make an effort to tell me anything but "try this, it's good cause I made it". I ended up getting just a typical salami/mortadella deli sandwich and it was okay. Very small for the price in which they charge you for and just an average at best sandwich. Bare minimum veggies on top, along with paper thin condiments. Nothing special about any of my experience when eating here. Most likely won't come back. A generous 2 star.

This is my favorite hometown sandwich. The bread is amazing and my go-to order is the meatball sub.

Alotta's is a little out of the way sandwich shop that focuses on freshly prepped each day food and a friendly smile and conversation. The presence of this sandwich shop is strong enough that I was recommended this place while flying into San Jose airport. I drove the 25 mins into the quiet streets of Palo Alto to taste the hype. The hype is real. Along with great food there is a Santa Margherita to Porto Fino mural on the wall (attached for your viewing pleasure). I recommend the meatball sandwich and a bag of spiced nacho cheese Joe chips.

Stopped by here for lunch with some colleagues on our lunch break. The bread on the sandwich was excellent and the meat was very tender. will definitely be coming back to try the other sandwiches at Alotta's! Great local spot.

Used to go to Alotta's frequently over the years. Their mortadella sandwich was delicious and my regular. Picked up a hot corned beef sandwich today for the first time in a couple of years and it was terrible. There were literally 2 pieces of thin corned beef and not even 1 whole piece of provolone! The meat tasted old and dry. My husbands pastrami was the same, barely any meat or cheese and tasted old. The only reason for 1 star is for the bread. After enjoying for years, I won't be going back.

Sandwiches are good. The bread makes them. They are a bit pricey thou! Atmosphere nothing special, service is good but the owner not that friendly that takes your money.
