My brother said he forgot all about his back pain while we were eating. I think that's the best endorsement anyone could ever give.

Anwar's Kitchen in LA is a culinary oasis! Impeccable cleanliness, amazing chicken shawarma, and Chef Mahmoud's talent make it a 5-star experience

After a session at the gym, I was fairly hungry and a protein shake wasn't going to do it. So decided to look up a few places and while driving, I saw this at the corner and this place had been on my bookmarks for a while and decided to give this a go instead. Since it's downtown and midday parking is horrendous, but since they're located near an alley, homegirl parked on the red and came in to do a to go order. Walked up to a kiosk and ordered 2 chicken shawarma, one with hummus and the other with mixed greens. ( Summer is coming around the corner, so gotta make sure we're staying within the macros.) I really did enjoy my plate, the wrap was packed with protein which I enjoyed. Usually a lot of places are skimpy with their protein portions, but the chicken was tender and full of flavor. It was also very refreshing as there was tabuleh and pickles. I like the little banana peppers addition to the salad, I just ate them with the shawarma instead. The hot sauce is creamy, pretty mild, but got the job done. PS Would you guys make a halal hot sauce? Just asking because some people like me would like our insides to burn. Lol. Would be coming back just to try their plate .

This place is soo bomb! I always come and the best part is that it's open late! The chicken shawarma plate amazing, their desserts are real good too. I recommend going and get some of the tzatziki sauce

One of the few Halal spot that is open late night in LA. Food quality and portion is very good. Late night go to spot definitely.

This is literally my favorite restaurant in LA. My partner and I eat here like 3+ times a month. Food is absolutely incredible literally never disappoints!! Obsessed with their spicy sauce and hummus

Delicious halal style Mediterranean food, chicken shawarma and tacos were my favorite. The gf got the salmon and it looked excellent. Kibbeh and falafel were tasty, excellent garlic sauce. Very friendly service.

Food used to be good, especially during Ramadan time... right now the service is mediocre, they hired a team that clearly don't want to there nor pick up the phone and it reflects in the quality of food you getting served ... now mind you this type of food cost nowhere what you are being charged but I guess it was acceptable when the food was good but now it's absolutely not. What a fallout!

I don't even know where to start. I received my shawarma wrap, wrapped in naan. Not pita bread, not the traditional shawarma wrap. But naan. And it was cold and soggy. Disappointment is an understatement considering I'm fasting for Ramadan and this is where i chose to break my fast. I also ordered atayef for dessert and it was abhorred. It was soggy, tasteless and COLD. It's literally supposed to be a crunchy sweet dessert. I hate to leave a review like this after 12 hours of fasting but I just couldn't be more disappointed. I really hope this review gives them room to try and improve. The crazy part is I've had Anwar's before and it's never been this bad!

This marks my third order from Anwar's within a single month. The freshness and flavors are beyond description. Were it possible to rate with more hands, I'd award additional stars without hesitation. Concluding my review, dining here feels akin to receiving a warm invitation into someone's home, where the meal is served with genuine love.

I love this DTLA spot for cooked-to-order, supremely fresh-tasting Mediterranean food. The shawarma is excellent, bursting in flavor, but after my most recent visit, I think that I am now partial to the gyro. Hands down, the best gyro that I have tried in L.A. A soft, warm pita generously loaded with well-seasoned, juicy gyro meat, onions and tomatoes, and accompanied by a little cup of stellar garlic sauce. As amazingly good as the gyro was, however, the star of the show may have been the so-called "deli salads," containers of various dips, spreads and miscellaneous items such as dolmas and eggplant salad. Insanely fresh and delicious! The hummus and baba ganoush are both perfect, in my mind. So delicious! And there is labneh in several different variations, and beet salad, garlic sauce and several other items that I cannot recall. And, the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. I can't recommend this place enough!Vegetarian options: Many of the deli salads are vegetarian.
