Absolutely delicious Ethiopian food. The grilled meat was tender, and the lentils and greens were buttery. Huge sharing platters, as well - three people could easily eat off of just one. Highly recommended!

This is a very casual spot with delish Ethiopian food. Nothing fancy, just good food. I would definitely recommend.

Probably the best Ethiopian food in L.A. They cook it fresh to order with high-quality meats, very tender, and good portions. We don't go here often though, because the food advantage is outweighed by the long delays in getting the food. We have never waited less than 40 minutes after ordering. Also the service isn't the greatest and the atmosphere is cramped and not the best. So depends on what you want -- great food, or a more comfortable, all-around dining experience. If you want the former, Awash is your choice. If the latter, there are plenty of other Ethiopian places nearby with really good food that are quicker and more comfortable inside, with better service.

The food is authentic Ethiopian, confirmed by my Ethiopian friend, and it is sooo delicious! I, particularly, love the vegetarian plate, which actually can feed two people

Hope in the wall gem of an Ethiopian restaurant. Love the veggie combo, something so right about eating with your hands ☺️

Excellent plant based options. Love their bread. I usually get takeout. So cannot comment on service. Ambience seems like a fun neighborhood joint. Very nice people. Ty

Last time I had done a review here for Yelp was a decade ago! Wow! I've been coming here since the late 90's for a reason. Incredible food and great prices. The best Ethiopian restaurant I've ever been to! I need to come more often. I was craving it and decided to take the drive. It was well worth it!Family owned and loved!Casual ambiance. Service was great and friendly. I even got an extra injera.

I've had Ethiopian food before at a different restaurant and was left underwhelmed. I'm glad I had a chance to try it again at Awash because now I know how good it can get. It's been a couple days and I'm still thinking of that delicious injera. For three people, we got the veggie combo, awaze tibbs and kitfo. Take note, their portions are huge. We stuffed ourselves and still left with two huge takeout containers. Service was lovely too, and unlike some other reviews I did not find the wait excessive. I can't wait to come back and try more!

The food was delicious! The vegetarian plate is a must. Location is nice in that it is low profile in a nice community. Server was friendly and good size menu. Our 2 dishes had lots of flavor. Can’t wait to go back.

The food (sauce) is good but how we call Ethiopian food without Enjera that is not at least 50% Teff. Awash’s enjera is made of straight self rising flower and it was nasty to eat this enjera with the sauce. Best if they serve what is Ethiopian not what is related to flour tortilla or Burrito. I am extremely disappointed with the route they take to save few cents over being truthful to their customers in serving Ethiopian food. Due to the short cut they use it should not be considered Ethiopian foodThe service is also very slow where there was only ONE waitress serving and we had to wait over 20 mins to even talk to her and 32 mins to order. I do not recommend it to anyoneVegetarian options: Great but the enjera is nasty made of straight out of self rising flower. It is not Ethiopian at all
