Food was amazing! Went back and ordered extras because, it was that good. Have strong regrets that we only tried this on our last day in LA but it was absolutely! worth the 20 mins walk we took! Everything we ordered even the basic avocado toast was so delicious!

This place is the bomb! I've been planning to visit for ages and it was so worth it. I was expecting the usual Hawaiian fare, but boy was I wrong. I ordered a Chicken Fritter platter, Spam Musubi, and Bread Pudding. The chicken was spicy but not too much. The breading was perfect and the chicken itself was so moist and tender. The Korean-style purple rice and banchan-style potato macaroni salad were delicious too. The Spam Musubi was amazing. The seaweed wrapping was perfect and the spam melted in my mouth. And the bread pudding? Oh my god, it was the best I've ever had! I'm now a 100% fan. I could come here just for the bread pudding alone! The owners are super friendly and you can tell they put their heart into everything they do.

I had high hopes for Broken Mouth Hawaiian Food after hearing it was the #1 rated restaurant on Yelp, but my experience fell far short of expectations. First off, the long line snaked almost out the door, and the wait for food was even longer, 1 hour & 15 min to be exact on a Saturday. Despite the owner's attempt to appease customers with free drinks, the service was still lacking. As for the food, the shrimp was passable, but the purple rice was disappointingly flavorless. I expected a burst of Hawaiian flavors, but instead, it fell flat. Overall, the hype surrounding this place did not match the reality of my dining experience. Don't trust the Yelp reviews on this one.

Kept seeing how this was the number one rated Yelp spot, so we were definitely curious what all the hype was about. It did not disappoint. This kind of fusion of Hawaiian and Korean was probably the best there ever is. Service is super friendly and helpful, and we even got free drinks! They get pretty busy so wait times can be long at times! We got their chicken Teri and their shrimp and spam musubi and they were all amazing. It also felt very fresh and clean! Cons: parking and location. Keep in mind parking is nearly impossible around here, best bet is to go to one of the flat rate lots around! The court to eat at is alright but not necessarily the most glamorous. All in all it was definitely amazing to try and eat! highly recommended! We will definitely come again!

I ordered a beef lunch even though it was a 20-25 minute wait, it was definitely worth it because the guy who took my order was very polite and always smiled! He even offered me a free drink for the long wait. When it came to the food, it blew me away. Every bite had flavor and tenderness in all the right places. The rice is amazzing. I would definitely come back here and order again! There's a lot of sitting area too

Food is really good and customer service is really good! Was my first time here from Las Vegas and I believe his name is Jeff, he was a really cool guy. Definitely stopping here anytime I'm out here

I was very excited to try broken mouth after seeing the crazy high reviews on Yelp. We came in for Thursday lunch and didn't have to wait in line at all. The owner, Lee, graciously guided us through the menu, offering recommendations and insights since we were visiting from out of town. As per his recommendation my partner and I ordered the beef plate and shrimp plate. We picked up our order from the same counter when it was ready and sat at one of the open tables nearby so we could dig in. The beef plate was one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life. Tender and succulent, the beef melted in my mouth, each bite bursting with flavor that went super well with the accompanying purple rice. The salad underneath the beef was light and refreshing, elevated by a tangy/spicy dressing. The shrimp plate was also really good with the marinade being the highlight of the dish. It was marinated to perfection and I found that the dish had a great texture along with amazing flavor. With every intention of returning, Broken Mouth has firmly secured its place at the top of my list for future visits to Los Angeles!

Excellent customer service and great food. Parking was easy for a DTLA spot. In a mall type area with other restaurants so it's open seating.

I hate to say that I felt disappointed. We ordered the shrimp and beef jun plate lunches, the potato salad and spam musubi. The flavor of the shrimp and the beef were solid. Really good. However, for the price of the plate lunches (~18), the majority of what you got was salad dressed in a Korean sauce. The three stars is for (1) the small protein to salad and a scoop of rice ratio, (2) the location/ambiance - nonexistent and (3) no feeling of aloha. You order by scanning a QR code. The feel good vibes associated with a plate lunch is the friendly folks that are serving the food and here it was so transactional. I will also add that we got there around noon on a Friday and there no crowds but it still took about 30 minutes for our food. Again, the shrimp and beef were tasty but there was not very much of it.

Broken Mouth never disappoints. Everything has so much flavor, highly recommend the shrimp and musubi.

To start off, the service here was a 10/10. The owner is so kind, gave me a free drink while waiting for my order. I waited around 10-15 mins on a Friday at around 4:15pm... and the food came out so fresh! I ordered the kahaku-style garlic butter shrimp, which came with purple rice topped off with furikake & subbed the greens with the mac salad. The shrimp was perfectly crispy & buttery. It paired so well with the soft chewy purple rice & mac salad. The portion is HUGE. I ate some of my food there and I took 75% of it home as leftovers The workers going above & beyond + the delicious food makes me rate this place 5 stars. The only con I would give this place is the parking situation. Luckily, I found parking right in the front. I will be back very soon!

Amazing food. Loved the fusion. It's completely worth going downtown for the food. The owner Timothy is great too.

Timothy is a great guys. This is our first time here. He's super nice, friendly, and straight forward. We found this place because of yelp and we love Hawaiian food. Timothy said he's from Hawaii so his food is a spinoff of Korean and Hawaiian. We're excited to try it. We got an order of the shrimp and Musubi. The shrimp was fire! So good. I will be back for more of the shrimp. Spam musubi was good too but shrimp, Mac salad, and purple rice is very good. Thanks Timothy!

This place is a 10/10 for sure! I can honestly respect the honesty from the owner as he did let us know before hand it would take an hour for the food to be ready. Totally worth the wait!!!! The food was made fresh to order and had so much flavor. I mean the shrimp plate was so delicious, everything we purchased was so delicious. Definitely going back again and trying different items.
