The Brooklyn Ave pastrami was amazing with the Russian dressing and coleslaw This sandwich made my mouth smile after the first bite.

The worst place ever ! Teach the workers how to be polite and don't be rude to people ( they just ruined my day)

Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Canter's was once a pretty good place to go. Every time that we've been over the last couple of years, the food has gotten worse and worse. Today they could not get our orders right, missing toast, incorrect sides, etc. But the actual food was horrible. The matzo ball soup tasted like Swanson's broth with a big soggy glob in the middle, no vegetables, and no flavor. The eggs were cold and hard. the bacon was as hard a a brick. The pasrtami was literally dripping grease and still tasted like nothing. and oh yeah, waaaay expensive. Nope, they won't have our business again.

Ordered on Uber eats and they got my order wrong three times in a row. I called them to ask about it and they hung up on me when I told them what happened said one sec and they hung up. Called back told them what happened immediately hung up on. Called by a THIRD TIME AND NEVER PICKED UP THE PHONE. NEVER COMING OR ORDERING AGAIN.

We stumbled upon this iconic LA restaurant when we tried going to a neighboring restaurant that didn't have any reservations available. The 3 stars are for the ambiance and history. 0 stars for the food but I have to admit that I only had grilled cheese. But this is because the place smelled so bad that I couldn't stomach eating anything else. The interior hasn't been touched since the 1960s at least, which is a totally cool retro feel. I really enjoyed the original feel of the place. I know they are known for their deli and pastries, but the deli smells so bad when you come in the door. And it's not one of those smells that you get used to once you sit there awhile. My stomach literally turned and I couldn't eat anything other than a grilled cheese sandwhich. And it was slightly burnt. Their root beer was pretty good, right amount of carbonation. Fun to visit once, but I wouldn't need to come back.

Just remember, they aren't actually 24hours anymore. Tried to get a seat at 11:30pm on a Sunday and they weren't seating anyone.

Canter’s Deli is an LA classic and a must visit for anyone who loves that old school deli feel. All the staples are on the menu and the old timey look of the inside rounds out the experience. Food is very solid if not a bit overpriced. Bakery is by weight for a lot of items so expect to pay more than you think. Parking is free in the lot next to the building if you are eating. Service isn’t the best on most of our visits, but the people watching makes up for it!

Best Banana Milkshake. Deli always friendly and welcoming. Last time I ordered a shake, they gave me extra. One of the best parts - I can get the shake 24 hours.

They run a tight ship! Great food, and bar is top notch! One of my favorite spots! Get an Irish coffee and a grilled pastrami Reuben!

First evening meal in this restaurant in the US and the last time I will set foot there. The smell when you enter the restaurant is abominable, the restaurant really needs to be modernized. I order a main course and a dessert, each worse than the other, cold salmon with 2 slices of tomatoes and onion? A dessert that I couldn't even cut since it was frozen. I didn't eat, $41 went in the trash. I don't recommend.
