A hidden gem off the main path. It's a parked food truck with picnic bench style seating. The fish n chips were amazing. Perfectly battered and flaky fish. Thick homemade fries.Fish tacos were excellent. Again perfect fish and sauces were delicious. I could have used a little more cabbage but I always love more.

Pretty tasty - the fish and chips platter is a lot larger than it looks in the photos. My husband and I shared a fish and chips (+$1.50 to make it garlic fries) and a fish taco, and we could barely finish!4 stars because this is one of the few places in the city you can easily get garlic fries thats not at a ball game or some other event.

Heard Catch 56 will be closing its doors soon. Very sad, indeed. Among the finest, if not THE finest fish and chips I've ever had. Excellent fries, unique sauces, and a fabulous salmon burrito. Catch 56 will be sorely missed. Thank you for the consistently amazing food and even better service!

Amazing! We tried just about everything and were truly blown away. The fried fish and shrimp are outstanding. Fish tacos are good with a really nice Baja sauce. Coleslaw is solid. But the best thing was the fries- maybe the best fries I've ever had. Will be back!

Where I come from, fish and chips is a sacred meal. When I order here all it got was overpriced soggy sh!te and undercooked chips. The fish died for no reason. Never again.

Catch 56 looks like a pretty unassuming spot from both the outside and inside - it looks in line with the decor of a fast food restaurant. The food's casual style matches the decor and you get a lot of it like you'd expect at a fast food restaurant, but the quality is very high. It's flavorful seafood comfort food. I called ahead to pickup and ordered the shrimp cooked Hawaiian style, which just means that it's grilled with pineapples, bell peppers, and onions added. I love having the option to get a side of half fries and half salad (which is what I did), because it's the best of both worlds and who wouldn't want that? (Note that splitting the side into two halves is a perk of calling ahead as opposed to ordering through Grubhub, Doordash, etc.) The fries came with Cajun seasoning and were crispy and not overly salty. Salad was great too with mixed greens and some corn and carrots as a garnish on top. They offer a variety of sauces you can choose from, so I got the tartar sauce, chipotle sauce, and of course ketchup. I thought the chipotle sauce was great but I wasn't a huge fan of the strong dill flavor in the tartar sauce, which wasn't a classic tartar sauce. All in all though, I had a large plate of very tasty food that cost a reasonable ~$16. My boyfriend ordered the fried salmon plate and I only had a bite of his, but it's salmon and it's freshly fried and fried well - absolutely nothing wrong with that! They actually poked holes in his styrofoam container to prevent the heat from the freshly fried salmon from being trapped and making the coating soggy, so it stayed crisp. Why more restaurants don't do that I'm not sure, but it was a great move on their end.

I don't eat fish and chips that often but I do have a penchant for fried food in general. Honestly, everything that came with the fish and chips were quite tasty. The fish was crispy and hot. The fries were very decent as well. I got the cocktail and tartar sauces which were well above average. The sauces were more complex than what I'm use to having. The meal came with coleslaw and what I thought was some sort of green pea side dish. They were both wonderful. All of this was also delivered, and it all held up quite well. Really enjoyed the meal! I could defin do this british thing more often. This and a pint and I'm set. Thank you and wishing them the best in their business!

Great place for fish n’ chips! The fish has the right amount of crunch on the outside and flaky fish on the inside.Love the sauce for their fish tacos, which was interestingly served with pickles!

Fish and chips here are good, I wish they would not put so much oil, I understand you have to fry but you do not need this much. Please do try if you like fish and chips and do not mind oil, but very oily.

I know that LA isn't known for their fish and chips, but when I found this place as I was walking down Hollywood boulevard I wanted something different. I'm glad that I went in as this was the best fish and chips that I've had since I was in the Navy in the early 90's and my ship pulled into Portsmouth England and I lived on nothing but pub food and pints for a week. Both the fish and the chips are just that good. If I can sneak off from my vegan/gluten free daughter again I'll be back.

Casual dining, but not fast food - this place is fantastic! High quality half pound fish dishes for under 20 bucks. They come with things like salads and fries. Homemade sauces. Delicious!I tried the classic fried fish and chips, and the salmon. Both were fantastic. In and out for 40 bucks and reall great food. Five stars! Will come back!
