I came here because my friend wanted to try out their army stew. When I arrived, it was kinda confusing because there is no hostess, so I had to ask other people standing in line what to do. I wrote my name on this small whiteboard on the wall, and told someone the next time they came around. They were able to seat my friend and I pretty quickly because it was just us 2, and we got a higher bar top type of seat. We got salad and some pickled radish as sides for our food and only ordered the army stew after seeing how large the portion is. It was nice because they give you a little fire stove burner for the fish to keep it warm, but the portion of the army stew was definitely perfect for 2 people. It included sausages, cabbage, some ttoboki, spam ramen and kimchi. I wish it had more ttoboki in it because it seemed like there was only like 5 pieces in it. The stew was really good but not spicy at all, so I wish it had more flavoring rather than just salty. The vibes of the restaurant is really nice and seems like a great place to pregame before going out in ktown. I really wanted to try their fried chicken skin, and will probably get it next time!

A friend recommended this place to me a while back and I've loved it ever since :) whenever I'm craving Korean fried chicken I immediately think of ordering or stopping by Chef kangs. I brought some friends to try this place and even tho there was a tiny wait the staff were super nice and giving us updates on our table. They were all really sweet and even gave a us complimentary drinks for the wait (which was totally not expected!Thank you guys) Myfriends had a blast for their first time and will be visiting more

Went here on a weekend night and it was pretty packed! We had to wait about 20 mins for a table. The mood is dark and very bar-like. Definitely a fun place to bring friends on the weekend. Servers share tables and there is a call button which they respond to pretty quickly. Food was good! We ordered army stew, chicken drumsticks, king oyster mushroom app, and crack chicken. The drumsticks were kinda dry, i would suggest getting the wings instead. The crack chicken is a gigantic portion, we used our leftovers as croutons in salad the next day. Good vibes, food, and service. I would recommend

Wanted some post-workout gains so some college friends and I visited Kang Sul Box for some major chicken. Atmosphere was cyberpunky with screens everywhere you turn showing basketball or kpop bands. Korean hip hop blare through hidden speakers with some heavy baseline you could feel in your seat... might not be the place for you if you're looking for an intimate dining experience. Waiters were pretty nice! Water, plates, banchan, utensils, menu were all provided in a matter of seconds. I did have to call to have some bins (for chicken bones) replaced a couple times. Banchan was an great palate cleanser. It was sweet/sour radish, chilled potato salad, and a refreshing iceberg lettuce salad with a light lime-based dressing. For a party of six, we ordered two 20pc. drumsticks with an order of 20pc wings. You can choose two sauces per 20pc order so we basically got all 6 except BBQ and original (no sauce). A short summary of each and my thoughts as I was munching if you care to read them all: - Honey Butter - slightly nutty; warm, CRUNCHY, slightly sweet - Korean Gravy - savory and sweet; really good; also crunchy - Spicy Soy Garlic - was sweeter than the above two. Skin was also slightly caramelized on top of being fried so more than a few bites came away with more hard skin than meat. Would be my least favorite of the whole lot. - Fire Spicy Buffalo - ...more like "watered, soggy Buffalo". Don't get your hopes up by expecting some authentic Frank's hot sauce stuff. You could taste the buffalo, then it sort of melts into a weird creamy aftertaste. The soggiest of them all, if I do say so myself. Eat this first if you still want the crunch. - Spicy Galbi - Sweet and spicy; I actually loved this a lot because it was mild and crunchy with some great heat. - Spicy Korean Glaze - Tastes EXACTLY like gochujang sauce from Gogobap!! Sweet, savory, SPICY and will leave you smacking and licking your lips. A fan favorite. Ultimately, the last two kinds were my favorite. I do have a strong, savory palate so I may have missed more mild notes if there were any! If you've read this far down, I sincerely thank you!! Altogether a great experience if you're looking to sate your late-night cravings and let it all out on some chicken after a hard day of work...(or lack thereof).

I used to love this place. Great place to hang out with friends and most dishes on the menu are delicious. But I was let down for the first time. About half of the fried chicken skin pieces had too many feathers on them. I understand that it could happen.. but the appearance made me to lose appetite and end up dumping the rest of the pieces after eating two pieces. I wish they could take care of it from the next time.

Went in for a late night snack. Was not expecting these portions!! We barely made a dent! Crispy chicken skins were delish. Took most of them home and honestly they were even better the next day. Just don't eat too much, all that grease made me a little sick. The spicy rice cake bowl was just ok. I think mostly because My pallet isn't familiar with Korean food. But let me tell you it was SPICY only had a few bites and that's all I could really handle. Didn't love the flavor but again I think I'm just not used to it. Would definitely go back. Their wings look amazing. Also their pickled radish and egg/potato salad was delish.

Checked our vaccination on arrival, workers were nice. I saw the deal for 25$ for 20pc drumsticks which seemed great cuz a whole chicken (16pc) would be like 28$. There were 6 flavors. I chose soy garlic and spicy Korean glaze. Honestly idk if it's me but I coudnt tell the difference. They weren't as spicy like the waiter said, the oyster ramen soup was spicier tbh than the chicken. The banchan was good tho, radish and macaroni salad. Workers were nice and was having a good shift and the food was good. I will come back to try their huge menu of food. I'm old and the music was loud so turn it down a bit I wanna eat at a restaurant not a club :D

We got out of a film and needed to eat a late dinner. Chef Kang Sul Box was open until 1am on a Wednesday night. We had their Chicken Wings, Earl gray drink, Rice cake bowl and our favorite,... sweet potato fries with honey butter sauce. The rice bowl was too spicy for us, but we added honey to it at home. Street parking was easy because it was around 11pm.

Solid place to grab a drink and some bomb fried chicken. The servers were beyond friendly, were really patient in explaining all the flavors of fried chicken, and proactively came to our table to ask if we wanted more drinks, water or food. Usually I only get good service when I'm with my Korean friends (and I totally get it...Chinese restaurants can be the same), but at Chef Kang Sul Box I can tell they put a lot of effort in the customer experience no matter what background. Yay to breaking stereotypes! My friend and I ended up order the Chef Kang Fried Drumstick Special (a whole fried chicken cut up into pieces that comes with two Cass beers...what a value!), French fries, and a couple bottles of soju. All solid choices. Honestly, I'm a French fry snob and these were very legit. My mouth is lowkey watering while thinking about them right now. Also the fried chicken was super crispy and moist. Our waiter warned us that the Spicy Galbi sauce had a bit of a kick (6/10 is what he rated it) and it sure did have a kick! Don't get me wrong...it was still edible and tasty, but I had to pause and collect myself after each piece. We were also able to get the other half of our chicken in the Spicy Soy Garlic flavor which ended up barely spicy at all! Overall, I would definitely come back to this place. Great service, music, ambiance, and food! The only thing preventing me from giving this place 5-stars is that when I went to the bathroom I noticed one of the workers leaving the restroom without washing his hands! I even made eye contact with him and sensed the look of guilt as he rushed out. Maybe there's a separate sink in the kitchen? Maybe he wears gloves when he cooks? I could be jumping to conclusions, but I saw what I saw!

WOw this place is definitely a gem! Great food with great prices and great service. Parking was little harder but we just parked at the cgv/hmart plaza across the street and validated at hmart. Came here for a Friday dinner and we were seated immediately. Food came out in a timely manner which was much appreciated for our starving tummies. We got the kimchi fried rice, fried chicken special (soy garlic and spicy korean glaze) and army stew. Everything was so delicious and flavor on point/authentic. I would say the soy garlic was better than the spicy korean glaze. But there were so many flavor options to choose from, will def try the galbi or honey butter next time. Whenever my friends and I don't know where to eat, we always keep this restaurant as a go-to option. Definitely worth the try, you won't be disappointed.

I've never gotten Korean chicken while in K-town (I usually go out for KBBQ when I visit), so trying this place was a treat! My boyfriend's friend introduced us to Chef Kang Sul Box as the place he's held two birthdays at because it's just "so good." I'm a huge fan of chicken, and I absolutely love Korean chicken, so I was excited to see what he was gassing us up about. We came around 10pm at night on a Wednesday, and it wasn't super packed but still pretty busy. It was like a more chill night club without the dancing and extra bodies. A lot of kpop performance shows were playing on the TVs, and it was loud enough to know that people were there to drink and socialize. I tried the honey butter wings here because that's what my boyfriend's homeboy told us was delicious and unique about the place. It was great! Sweet, but not too sweet, but it also was so crispy on the outside and pretty juicy on the inside. I really enjoyed the meal and look forward to trying more from the place in the future!

I don't know about the other dishes but the wings here are absolutely phenomenal. We got wings and some hot pot thing that tasted like a bunch of ingredients simmering in a ketchup based spicy broth, I didn't enjoy it much but the wings are in my top 5. The ambiance is a cool vibe. It's dim and comfortable with TVs if you're into eating and glancing at the game or whatever they may have playing on one of the many televisions. I'm definitely going back but only for the wings.

I definitely recommend the chicken skin if you're here for alcohol. The portion is big! The korean citron honey lemon slush was really good as well. If you order it, make sure to ask for a ladle or else pouring will be a mess and the soju melts to the bottom too. The chicken spicy flavors are korean spicy, so if you're only a mild spicy person, dont go for those flavors, or order the sauce on the side. Friendly service. Street parking.

Omg the galbi jjim was bomb.. just too spicy for me but my family enjoyed it! The atmosphere was like i was at a club. Will be back to come eat but will make sure that I'll have to order one that's not spicy so i can enjoy it

Visiting from Seattle and I can't tell you how saddened I am to not have a location near me! Everything my friends and I ordered was AMAZING and...it was even take out! I can't imagine the fresh, deliciousness that would roam around our palates if we had it fresh. It's a definite MUST in Cali!
