I order the lox bagel to go, when I get home I realized they forgot all the topping what a disappointment.

I can't say much about the food other than it looking amazing. However, we did purchase a seeded sourdough bread from their bakery to try out at home using our own ingredients their service was top-notch given that the employee was a really cool guy. Overall, the ambience was very relaxed and so I loved it

I stopped by today to grab a bunch of pastries at Clark Street in GCM since I was there on a day it was open and had always wanted to try it. I bought a little bit of everything and the cashier recommended I try one of their swedish pastries since it was their specialty. Great- I appreciated her suggestion so I added it to my order. By the time I got back home to try said pastry, I noticed it was missing from my bag. I double checked the receipt and it was definitely charged so I tried calling the number on the website but that was apparently a wrong number, then I contacted the Echo Park location and they kindly said they'd sort it for me. He put me on hold while he phoned up the GCM location and told me that "the cashier said she packed it but would refund it anyway." Seriously?? I'm staring at a bag of baked goods in front of me and counting 5 items when there should be 6. I have better things to do with my time than LIE about trying to shake down a business for a $5 pastry but OK. I would have let the whole thing slide but that snide comment from the cashier truly rubbed me the wrong way and guess what folks, I got time today.I've worked in food service; I've totally made my share of mistakes and forgotten things like any normal human being would but accusing a customer of lying is a pretty bad look. If they had said, "Oh shoot, sorry about that! Here's a $5 credit." I would have gladly returned and spent another $30, easily. But instead of any accountability, they chose to double down on their mistake and be straight up rude about it so I'll just be taking my carb-loving business elsewhere.

How did I just find this place?! Was at Grand Central Market looking for spices when I came across these beautiful looking baguettes. They looked toasty. Very pleasing to the eyes. Really wish I'd taken pictures. The baguette was delicious. There was a hint of something I can't describe. It was fresh, it was a party for my taste buds. I will most definitely be back and will try the pastries too.

This location is so much better than the echo park location. The staff here are kind and helpful. They don’t have the hostile attitude of the echo park location.

I usually go to Clark Street Echo Park but wanted to check out this Central Market location. It's a small stand with a smaller, selected pastry offering, but still has the essential items like croissants and scones.I had a monkey bread and wow I really liked it, especially the fine, crispy layers are surprisingly good. I also had a walnut loaf. The taste is pretty good but the portion is definitely on the smaller side.

I don't know if this is the best bread in LA, but I know it's very very very good bread.

Excellent (sourdough) french-style bread. Would really recommend this to anyone appreciating good bread.

Got a chance to check out Grand Central Market (GCM) in Downtown LA this past weekend (this was 44+ years in the making... you gotta read my GCM review to understand its context LOL). I had 2 hours to check out the joint. What an amazing place... so many options of different restaurants, drinks, desserts, and other vendors... decisions decisions! I barely scratched the surface.Just right next door to Eggslut is Clark Street Bakery. I was curious about their Avocado Toast... basically one avocado seasoned/oiled on a toast bread... I witnessed the making of it LOL. It was really good... avocado was just ripe, spice and oils was on point, and bread was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, but it comes with a hefty price tag $9.00 each LOL. I would have bought 2 if it was 2 for the price of 1. Anyway, I know they are there to make money so hopefully they'll succeed.I also bought two whole sourdough breads... seeded and raisin walnut. Now I was okay with paying $9.00-10.00 for one loaf of bread as they were of good size for that price. The seeded was very good. It has a nice crunch on the outside and very soft on the inside. It may be the same bread that's used for the Avocado Toast. Raisin walnut was okay... tons of raisins and walnuts, but bread was a tad denser than I would have preferred. They also sell sandwiches and other pastries. The gentleman who was working that day was very friendly and pleasant... not sure if he was the owner and/or baker or regular staff. They don't have a kitchen or anything so I'm guessing they make their breads elsewhere and just sells them here. Prices are a tad high on certain items. It looks like they also have individual stores not just at Downtown LA.I had some lobster and eggs on them breads yesterday... pretty tasty I might say myself LOL. Well, if you haven't tried Clark Street Bakery, do yourself a favor, drop on by, and enjoy some delicious avocado+bread and pastries. Just splurge once on the Avocado Toast if your budget doesn't allow it any more. Happy Clark'ing!

The Country bread was great, the Almond pastry was great, but...when I called the number listed by google, I found out when I arrived at the DTLA location that the phone number is for a different location. They didn't mention that when I called, or even ask which location I was calling about, so the DTLA location didn't have the Raisin Walnut bread, or the Banana bread, or the Chibatta bread that I asked about. The prices are a bit expensive, but they're legit for the quality of the products, so don't expect grocery store white bread prices or Dunkin' Donuts processed pastries. The almond pastry costs like $4, but after warming it in my convection oven was worth every penny.

The Country bread and Almond pastry were excellent, but when I called ahead to ask if they had the Raisin Walnut bread, Banana bread, and Ciabatta bread, they didn't mention that I had called the other location...so none of that was available when I arrived at the DTLA location. The prices were a bit high, but I was not disappointed or regretful after tasting the products. I just wish I had known that there isn't a phone number for the DTLA location, or that the employee at least asked me which location I was calling about so I wouldn't be disappointed. I hope my 4 star review motivates the owner/manager/employee to fix that problem for future customers so they don't start to lose business at that location.

Woww, just had the best breakfast sandwich ever!!! Macchiato was accurate and went perfectly with the recommendation of getting a chocolate Macha croissant I will definitely be back. And who ever does not like this place can go back to Starbucks.
