Wow. There's a hype for a reason!! First off: I recommend to order online using Toast so that your food is ready as soon as you get there. They make the drink for you when you get there so it doesn't melt or get diluted! Beats waiting 30-45 minutes in line. Onto what I ordered: Breakfast sliders with avocado and bacon AND a matcha espannier with oat milk. sliders: 3/5 Don't get me wrong it was good! But nothing to really write home about. This gives me inspo on what to make at home for breakie ! But the aioli was very much the star of the show. It helped elevate the dish from basic to LA worthy matcha espannier: 5/5 best. espannier. in LA. I've had most other places and USUALLY what happens is the matcha gets lost in the oat milk and/or the cream. However, the matcha shined throughout this drink! I was so surprised to have this live up to my expectations. Like the other reviews mentioned, this place is very small and CRAMPED. There's some street parking but it's not that much. I'm not a big fan of LA-esque things but this is a place I'd love to return to!

Okay, I can safely say that Community Goods does live up to the hype! The space is very small and was packed on Saturday at 11 AM, so be prepared to struggle to get inside. I ordered ahead on Toast and received a text that my order was ready for pick up 10 minutes after I placed the order, so I was a bit worried since I was 30+ minutes away. However, this wasn't something I needed to worry about because they don't actually make the drink until you go inside, go up to the counter and show them your order number. After notifying them that you are here, they will make your drinks - really appreciated this aspect of the online ordering as I was nervous about having foam sit at the top of the drinks for 30+ minutes while we were in traffic. Tried the hojicha spanner and the matcha spanner. I preferred the hojicha spanner since it was more nutty and sweet, but the matcha definitely did not get lost in the oat milk, which happens often with matcha places in LA. Both were quite tasty and if there was no line, I'd come back for another hojicha latte. This style of matcha and hojicha spanners reminded me a lot of DAMO in Ktown, so if you want to skip the lack of parking, long line, and lack of crowd control I recommend visiting DAMO (which can also be crowded but the lines were definitely not this bad since DAMO is like twice the size of Community Goods.)

The breakfast sliders are delicious! I tried the matcha einspanner and it was a little too sweet for my liking. The cream was a bit overpowering and the matcha flavor couldn't really come through. Next time I'll try the einspanner latter instead since I'm sure the cream will balance out a coffee flavor better. Staff was kind and efficient and service is fairly quick. There isn't much space inside the building but I enjoyed the outdoor patio area, though small it's nice and cozy.

Love love loveee the matcha spanner. Probably my favorite matcha that I’ve had to date! Also tried the pistachio toast and it was amazing, would absolutely recommend.

Located in trendy Melrose, Community Goods gives major LA vibes - I was wearing sweats and feeling out of place but I was impressed by how good their drinks were given all the hype. Apparently this is Justin Bieber's favorite coffee in LA and hey I think he's got taste! Breakfast Sliders w/ Bacon (5/5): really delicious egg and bacon on a Hawaiian roll - it's worth it to add bacon bc without it you just have egg and cheese on a roll - we really liked the creamy dill sauce it came with. I wish I ordered my own instead of sharing! Matcha Einspanner (4.5/5): you can taste the quality of the matcha and I really liked how they did not charge extra for oat milk - I'm not sure if it's the "Best Matcha in LA" but it was really yummy and worth a try. Get the Einspanner version to try their cream top!! Einspanner Latte (4.8/5): delicious, tastes like tiramisu and the espresso is really smooth - the cream top is soo creamy and I definitely could feel myself craving it Street parking only, we came early in the day so there were plenty of spaces - you can also find unmetered in neighborhood surrounding. Service was quick and workers were friendly enough, considering how busy they were!

This has been my new obsession for a few months now! The coffee is so good I alternate between the Einspanner Latte and the Vanilla latte. It gets crowded towards the afternoon but mornings are not so bad.The baristas are great as well considering how busy they can get they’re very patient. Love the ceramics and products they sell in store as well. The sliders however, I think are a bit overhyped. The green sauce they come with makes them worth it but I don’t care too much for them. Their coffee is a must try!!

Overhyped. Very long line. Drinks were mediocre. Limited seating. I recommend going elsewhere with better drinks and sweets, shorter line, and more seating. Parking is also difficult to find

I've heard lots of buzz about Community Goods, even claims of it being the best matcha in LA so I had to try it for myself. We tried the matcha spanner and an iced vanilla matcha latte. We waited in line for about 20 minutes, after ordering our drinks took about 5 minutes so it was pretty good. You can definitely taste that the matcha is high quality and ceremonial grade from Japan. The spanner matcha was well balanced, the sweet cream adds a light sweetness and adds a heavier creaminess than just the milk alone to the matcha. Overall, matcha was good but a little overhyped in my opinion. The store was small and cute, but hard to accommodate the long lines that it draws. I would stop by if in the area and try again!

You people are absolutely delulu waiting these wait times for coffee that can be found just as good or better at other coffee shops. Friday afternoon at 1:00pm. From standing in line to getting my coffee it was 35 minutes. I ordered the cafe con leche, and yes it was tasty. It was made right and the touch of cinnamon was great. Service was excellent from the cashier and barista. But the design is also a mess. There's only one door going in and out for customers so it's awkward to stand near the door. The line wraps around the interior so you barely have space to wait for your coffee. The benches inside aren't sturdy and even if you want to sit, you're behind everyones butts in line.

superrrr cute coffee shop. i went on a sunday afternoon & it was insanely crowded! i ordered a vanilla bean latte online so i got to skip the line but it still took about 15 minutes to get my order. coffee tasted good as it wasn't overly sweet, or acidic/bitter. def recommend!

Overcrowded. Lots of people in the way. Food was nothing special and overpriced. Over hyped. Very minimal food choices and most were unavailable. If you're a hipster you'll probably like it.
