Service was excellent. But places like these who claim have soulless food. Absolute trash food.

Doesn't get much better. Outstanding food. Mango margarita is a must! Parking sucks..you have to pay $20 to park in the adjacent lot...street parking is tight. Easy walk to the Arena.

Chips and Salsa, 7/10. Food was fantastic and the place is larger than it looks from the street. However I was put on edge and enjoyment was diminished by our dry, sarcastic waiter whom seemed to ethier hate his job or not care. Maybe that's just LA for ya. He lightened up a little over the course of the meal.

Tonight was a bad night. I have been a patron of El Cholo for over 3 decades. It use to be the best Mexican food in the city. Why was the chef off tonight. The food was awful tonight.

Very solid Mexican food. It was cool that they listed the menu with dates of when they added the items to the menu. I ordered the Sonora Enchilda that was on the original menu when it opened in 1923. Highly recommend. Ate at 5:30 pm on a random Tuesday night. No reservations. Not needed. Even though there was a hockey game at crypto. Still not bad.

Old school, ambience, very authentic style, the food was good. The drinks are excellent and the service reliable. Restrooms are always kept clean and quite frankly, the restaurant itself is clean.

Margaritas are not to be missed! Get the Cadillac for extra happiness. I had the carnitas plate; the pork was super tender and was so delicious with the nopales. I wished the tortillas were cooked a little longer but Oscar, our server, was awesome. Don't forget to ask for the habanero salsa if you need more heat on your food. On game days expect a wait but the ambiance is so warm and inviting it's definitely worth it.

Major disappointment ? food was simply bad; lettuce and avocado did look/taste fresh. Crab tacos were horrible. The two stars is for the very good service.

Great ambiance and really yummy Mexican food! Guacamole made in front of you - generous ratio on nachos.
