I wish I didn't have to write this, because I really want to like Gino's. And one hair in my food I can overlook. But to have it happen twice? Ugh. I really, really, REALLY hate finding hair in my food. First time was the very first time I ate here, and it came up in my Spinach Mozzarella stick. A long, curly thick black hair. Uck. The latest time it was two long thin blond hairs in my cheese pizza.I mean, c'mon! Let's use hairnets, people!***edit after reading response. I checked in another slice of the pizza I still had and found yet a third fiber. I cannot say for sure it is a hair, since you say you don't have any people with blond hair working for you. But it is very thin and fine, and hard to determine the exact color. It could be blond, it could be red, or light brown. Maybe it's not a hair but insulation fiber from an oven glove? I dunno, but it's definitely a fiber about two to three inches in length, and definitely should not be in a pizza. I would photograph it as proof, but it's impossible to photograph such a thin fiber, though I've saved it in a small envelope if you wish to see it. As for why I didn't call, when this happened, your business would have been closed, and if I hadn't posted it when it happened in this review, I would probably have forgotten to do anything about it.

Excellent Chicago Pizza. One of the best. Long waits to get in.

I was born and raised in Chicago. This is as close as you’ll get to authentic on the west cost. Dare I say, it’s legit.

Definitely a must try if you like Chicago style Deep Dish. Flavorful, great options from apps and sandwiches to beer and wine. Their Tavern style thin crust is good too!

Hopping and noisey BUT the service was impeccable! The kale Cesar salad with a spicey dressing and the thin crust Alfredo sauce with spinach and artichoke hearts was absolutely delicious. To management i would suggest tidying up the main entrance - it's cluttered and narrow. Makes it a challenge for two persons to pass one another. Other than that I highly recommend Gino's.

If you’re looking for the authentic Gino’s East in Chicago’s experience, you’ll be greatly disappointed. I was salivating at the thought of a Gino’s Deep Dish Pie, remembering the long lines to get in as people etched their names in the wall up the stairs and in the restaurant as they patiently waited to be seated. One slice, a few beers, and good friends was all you needed for a good time! Tonight, I had the friends and the beer, but sadly the atmosphere lacked. But it was the pizza that disappointed me the most. We ordered the 12” Supreme Deep Dish with extra sausage for the 3 of us who didn’t order a different dish. I came home and scrounged for more food., that’s how unsatisfying it was. The crust wasn’t the same and you couldn’t even taste the veggies. It was almost all sauce. Even the cheese was sparse. Our waiter was great and attentive, but that’s not enough to make me go back. Next time I’ll try Numero Uno.

Great pizza and overall food there. The pizza alone will fill you but they have other items on the menu that my family and I tried that were great; wings, mozzarella sticks, spinach sticks, all on point. The place was nice, my family of 4 sat comfortably in a both. The service was great, even one of the owners was helping out. We made reservations, which I recommend given that the place was packed and people were waiting when we got there. We ordered the cheesy legend deep dish and that was great. I've been to Chicago and at a Gioradanos, but I liked the crust on Genos more. Either way my family and I enjoyed the pizza which was more than enough for a family of four. 1 slice will easily fill you up.

Was driving pass LA and decided to order small deep dish with cheese and sausage patty to go. The guy working in the front was really nice and told me I should keep the pizza level in the car and how to reheat it when I get back home. After trying it, I would say the sauce was a little thick, sausage was good, and crust was the best part.

Gino's was recommended by a friend as the best Chicago style pizza so obviously we had to try!! Found out we're 45 miles away!! We went anyway through miles of traffic uphill both ways!! LOL! We didn't have reservations, which I highly recommend! We were seated right away anyway! Nice place and busy. We ordered the charred Brussel sprouts and a house salad with the house dressing for appetizers. We also ordered the 12" Gino's Supreme and were told the deep dish takes about 40 minutes so plan accordingly. The salad and Brussel sprouts were delicious! So delicious I forgot to get a good picture!! Anyway the pizza looked odd to me but I did read the shirts as we walked in and we've never been to Chicago so took our first bite and it was also delicious! My pictures don't do it justice! Gotta warn you though, we were only able to eat a slice each so looking forward to leftovers tomorrow!!

Grabbed lunch from Gino's today. Had the lunch special- small sausage deep dish, house salad, and drink. All super tasty. The owner rang me up, and he was very nice and seemed to care about his restaurant. I'll be back there-

The deep-dish pizza is excellent. Chicagoans would approve. Our Gino's Supreme was notable for its solid but pliable crust, stringy cheese (a sign of good quality), especially flavorful sausage, and the right amount of well-balanced tomato sauce. I don't know if two people could possibly finish a 12-inch Gino's Supreme in one sitting--we sure couldn't. I can't wait to dig into the leftovers. To top it off, the pie was a fantastic value for the money. They have a good selection of beer on tap, and happy hour prices make it worth showing up a little early. Service was pitch-perfect: helpful, friendly, and very attentive to our needs. It was the best service we've had in a long time. Also, as others have noted, the owners are fun to talk with and they are rightly proud of their restaurant. The awesome food and service give the restaurant good vibes overall. People seemed genuinely happy to be there, as we were. There are TV screens tuned into various games if you want that, but they are not at all obtrusive if you don't. The Chicago memorabilia all along the walls is interesting even if you're not from Chicago. I cannot wait to return to Gino's East of Chicago!

Took the family for the first time. Food was amazing. We started with the buffalo mozzarella sticks, the antipasto salad and the brussels sprouts. Then we ordered a gluten-free cheese and pepperoni pizza which was really good and the show stopper was the Meaty Legend, deep dish. This place has good family vibe and clean bathrooms and service was great.
