My meal delivered was shit. Plain, uninspiring strip mall chinese. Panda Express level at boutique prices.

Very cute restaurant I went to after getting my nails done. The woman working the counter on 4/21 around 4pm was extremely kind. The food has amazing portions for the price point (which is also a great price point) and was very tasty as well. She was very mindful of me doing takeout and what food items would be best to take to go. Very excited to come back during my lunch breaks.

This was absolutely unacceptable food, so disgraceful that I tried to talk to the restaurant about compensation, but they said to just post my review. It already was a bad situation where the delivery they use would not accept any of my good credit cards, so I had to pick up my order, and then my four main dishes, which had different descriptions, were exactly the same sauce and the same vegetables. None of it was very tasty, not even as good as the frozen Chinese meals you buy, and there was little meat and fish to go with all the vegetables, but that's beside the main point of it being a cuisine we dine on for the variety we can get. I'll add to this to say so if they give me any compensation.

The best Chinese take out food in West Hollywood. If you need your Chinese food fix, this is the spot. The only thing I wish, the portion a little bit larger but the food is delicious. The spicy items aren't too spicy either which is a good thing. Some other Chinese restaurants over do it with the spiciness.

Pretends that dishes are 12 Dollar and writes “with choice of protein” but then every single option, including veggies and tofu, costs extra and rice costs extra. Not playing that kind of game out of principle, regardless of the actual numbers.

The greatest Chinese food in the area and affordably priced. Unbelievable. Shocked in the best way.

Still the best Chinese food in the area. I've been coming here for over 10 years. Always fresh and tasty. Like I said in my review from 2013...I'm Chinese. I know good Chinese food.

I have been eating at Hunan Cafe since it started, when it was run by an elderly couple whom I always found pleasant and truly excellent at the stove. They have since retired but the man trained and left the restaurant to his son and his son's wife and they do a wonderful job as a two-person team, just like their predecessors. I like this. Most recently they remodeled and upgraded the restaurant interior to look and be spartan clean, modern, and very white. While I miss the framed photos of fellow filmmakers and regular patrons such as myself, I have to admit the place looks great now. Good job, you two!! So, on to the food-- I've eaten many dishes here and almost always return to one, Chicken With Broccoli. I don't know what the secret sauce is here but it's as addictive as crack cocaine. A simple dish of cut broccoli spears with sliced thin white breast meat cooked well, all doused over in the light and clear brownish sauce, you taste the savory flavors of garlic and soy etc. It's really a magical dish created by the father and the tradition and recipe have been carried on by his son here; every time I've opted to do it with the other proteins - shrimp, beef, or pork - I find it to not quite level up to the experience with chicken. I love to ladle the chili oils and hot mustard over it all and mix it in with their excellent, fluffy, white rice. They also make it with a garlic sauce I enjoy too on occasion, just to break up my old habits... Recently some friends and I ventured away from the staple and found one particularly delicious dish: Fried Rice With Twice Cooked Pork. Wow! Very good, especially the chewy seasoned pork ribbons... the rice, while good, felt a tad over cooked perhaps as I like it a bit fluffier, but it too was good. The General Zaos' Chicken we have is a tremendous miss for me and had an odd lingering taste that brought soap to mind. The chicken seemed overly battered some too. Just not my thing, I guess. A new addition to the menu is a Thai Drunken Noodle which we elect to do with shrimp. The shrimp are fine but it's all accompanied by a more spaghetti like noodles and, while pleasant and tasty, it does not knock my socks off. Hey, I live and eat in our version of Thai Town weekly at the very best Thai restaurants in all of California, so I have a particularly high standard set for Pad Thai, Pad See Ew and Drunken Noodle... like it with the flat noodle more than "lo mein style." This new dish here is good, so try that too. By and large I recommend you rush over to Hunan Cafe for their remarkable Chicken Broccoli and wonderful fried rice. Also, the foil wrapped chicken appetizer is superlative, as are most all of the appetizers. Tell them Kevin sent you!

Food was good, staff was very friendly. Inside is very welcoming, got to go but next time I will dine in. Good spot to have in my neighborhood!

I used to love this place but couldn't order a dinner delivery (only available for lunch) and they don't pick up their phones. Whats up with that?

Delicious. It could be a lot spicier for Hunan food, but I understand they need to have less spice for Americans. Great quality.

I really can't say enough about this cute little place. The owner, Anna, was such a delight. She was attentive to my needs, was so lovely to chat with, and really puts love into the restaurant experience. I ordered the drunken lo mein, and oh my gosh it was SO GOOD. The food was tasty, the portion was hefty, and meal was so clean! Not greasy at all, just bursting with flavor. I highly recommend this spot to anyone in the area, especially if you're looking for somewhere nice to eat when you're coming outta the Laugh Factory! I will definitely be coming back, again and again. 12 Stars.

Thank you for your response. My apologies if I erroneously mentioned that your restaurant is under new ownership. The rude and unprofessional middle aged man working the front counter advised me Hunan was under new management, and now being managed by him. Regarding my recent review as well as past reviews, I simply stated facts along with my honest opinion. Were you not educated on constructive criticism being something to learn from? My recent review regarding my experience, and the deterioration of the quality of your restaurant and food was an honest and unbiased opinion. If it offended you, then I cannot help you with working through that. That is something you need to workout amongst yourself. Yes, I have rated you 1 star in the past, and it was justified. You still seem to be triggered by my honest rating and opinion, and again, that is not something I can help you with. You will need to work that out, as a business owner, on your own. That review was in 2010, so I thought you had accepted my feedback, and incorporated your shortcomings in improving your management. I appreciated the offer for a free item from your menu, but I did not accept, because that was not my goal when leaving you the 1 star rating. I hope you are able to, as a business where customers have MANY choices, work out amongst yourself what you continue to lack. Word of advice: Perhaps other customers haven't given you negative ratings, but it is out of sympathy. No one wants to be that person to provide feedback that will not, especially in your case, be taken as a learning experience. However, I am a person who will provide feedback, whether it is accepted or not. It saddens me that you do not know how to take any type of feedback constructively, however that does not speak to my character, it speaks to yours. Attacking your customers will only hurt your business. Again, I hope that you can find the path to work out your shortcomings amongst yourself. Take care.
