Food was good, as usual, but poor customer service this visit. Had finished our breakfast, and still not received our coffee, so asked an employee. When we did get it, and asked the same woman if there had been a problem with our order, her response was "Yeah, it's the morning, and everyone wants coffee," before walking away. After finishing my coffee, I did bring my cup up to the counter, to see if I could get a little drip coffee from the thermos. The same woman looked at my cup and said "No. We don't refill on latte's," and walked away. Joan's has changed :(

This place is has nice and simple food when I just want a soup and sandwich. You can order from either side. Pay first, take a number and find yourself a seat. Servers bring the order out to you. It can be hard to track one of them down if you need a box to go, especially if it's busy. The inside seems overwhelming because other than the ordinary menu choices they have other foods and baked goods as well.

Every time I get a chance to come out to LA, this is my place to get some delicious lunch. The ambiance is so welcoming, it's like coming back home feel. The decor is nice and fully stocked and the place is clean and well kept. Today, Johnny, Christian and Mariellie helped me out and they were super nice and friendly, great customer service!! Mariellie rang me up to dine in. Everything came out perfect and tasty!! My favorites are the short-rib sandwich, Chinese chicken salad, potato sticks and Arnold palmer drink. I ate half and packed half to take home. And I got a coconut cupcake since there was no more crown cake slice, I think that was the name. I missed seeing Ms. Joan McNamara today, but I'll be back another day to run into her. Thanks Joan's on Third Team for an amazing service and delicious lunch!! I give 5 stars for ambiance, 5 stars for service and definitely 5 stars for the delicious food!!

We love this place. It's beautifully decorated and One of the best neighborhood restaurants in studio city. The food is always great. For breakfast I recommend the burrito or New York breakfast sandwich. The pastries and pancakes are also great. For lunch you should get the dish that made Joans famous "the short rib" sandwich. The service for the most part is always fantastic except for every once in a while you'll get a hipster server in a bad mood. Oh and a little secret here is that some of the best ice cream in the city "Mothers Moo" is served here.

What a consistently good choice! We love Joan's on Third and we have never even set foot in the restaurant. All of our experiences have been via DoorDash, yet everything has been stellar. We have tried the breakfast burrito, hashbrowns, New York breakfast sandwich, smoked salmon bagel sandwich, the homemade potato chips, and so much more. The only thing I don't "love" is the Chinese Chicken Salad, but it is indicated as Joan's #1 "Most Liked" item, so I imagine it is just a matter of preference. Joan's tuna and egg salad are good, as are all of the desserts.

They were kind enough to change out my cake slice after I changed my mind. Great food and good vibes. Highly recommend.

Great ficale, smoked salmon bagel, grilled cheese sandwiches. Great baked goods coffee and cheeses. Good prepared foods to take home. I tried their squash lasagna and it was g creative and very tasty. I thought I'll be avoiding pasta eating but there was some pasta between the squash layers.

There is no better Chinese Chicken Salad (with crispy wontons, rice sticks & toasted almonds) than at Joan's on Third in the Fairfax District near The Grove. An iconic LA Landmark of a deli, Joan's has offerings of cheeses, wine & spirits, breads, pastries, and anything else you can think of as a last minute dinner party gift!

This sandwich lives rent free in my head. You know how everyone has that one sandwich they will never forget, this is it. The chicken, bacon, brie sandwich is the best I have ever had and I don't think it will ever be topped. I have dreams about this sandwich and have doordashed it on multiple occasions since I don't live very close to Joan's. Everything they have is great but nothing will top this sandwich, although their chocolate chip cookies come pretty close. If they ever take it off the menu I will personally beg Joan on my hands and knees to bring it back. It is family owned too which I love, please go try this sandwich and let it change your life!

BEEN THERE! DONE THAT! NOW THEN! NEXT STEP! WRITE MY REVIEW. Been stopping in at Joan's on Third for years now. Why I never wrote about it is beyond me! Suffice to say each visit was pleasant and delicious but my most recent visit was fulfilling. I had their lox and bagel sandwich. It cost a mere $13 which was IMHO a steal for the amount of food it came with. Two giant slices of lox with their dill dressing, tomato lettuce and onion sitting on their original bagel. I had a croissant to go with a slice of home made meatloaf for my dinner. This is the place if you want/need pastries or prepared meals to go. It's also a people watcher place. Well, it's West LA what do you expect right? Street parking available or bike parking if you want to bike over
