I’ve been working in the area (which is very far from my home in LA) and a friend suggested Kitchen Mouse. There’s a huge variety of choices, so I asked Beatrix if she could help me out with keywords “something healthy and filling.”She suggested the Gomasio Brown Rice Cakes which was a bowl that was out of this world. Flavor explosion, kept me full, and was healthy with shishito peppers, mustard greens, and crispy oyster mushrooms with a cilantro and ginger chutney sauce.I’d come back for that dish, and with Beatrix’s amazing service and care. She even checked a binder in case I was allergic to any of the nuts in the dish. Her service was refreshing and so was the food! Come try this place!

As someone whose partner has a variety of dietary conditions, Kitchen Mouse was an oasis and I've been a regular for years, but I'm sad to say what was once an amazing location with delicious, high quality vegetarian food is now a shell of its former self. Wildly inconsistent food quality, prep, and temperature (hot dishes served ice cold!) on every visit. Steep price hikes while absolutely slashing portion sizes. Bugs visibly sitting in their sweets in the bakery location. I'm disheartened, because Kitchen Mouse truly was my favorite location for their amazing original Gluten Free baked goods and non-dairy cheeses. But that's it. I can't keep hoping for improvements when I'm met with new lows on every subsequent visit.

As a non- vegetarian I came to this place because it was close by. Very pleasant ambience, nice service, surprisingly tasty food. I got the morning glory bowl and a single pancake. Everything was good. Service was friendly enough. Not cheap but the ingredients seemed all high quality. Had the awkward experience of having the iPad flipped around asking if I want to tip a minimum of 18% which I find a tad annoying since I order up front and they bring my food to me. Get your own water. Definitely worth checking out for something unique.

Always fresh and tasty items. I won't tell you my favorite cookie bc you will sell them out and I'll be mad. But just know their confections are tasty. Their sandos are delish and the only thing I don't like is the sausage. Not my vibe. Other than that. You are in good hands.

I used to love this place. But when they start charging you $20 for a single breakfast sandwich... of mostly tofu... honestly it feels completely unethical and exploitative. They're expanding all the time... which made me happy for them at first. But it clearly comes at great expense to their customers. As the number of people in this ever gentrifying neighborhood willing and able to pay twenty freaking dollars for a breakfast sandwich increases, it seems like Kitchen Mouse will continue to raise their prices beyond the reach of their other neighbors. It's honestly pretty upsetting and disappointing.

Kitchen Mouse is a vegetarian brunch spot in Highland Park, a palette that's overall very clean and light. It's a popular place, but there's a good amount of searing inside. It's also a very highly-rated spot, and while I definitely appreciate this place and understand the positive reviews, I didn't necessarily have the same experience here -- the Snickerdoodle Pancake was decent, but a bit on the saltier side. The Buffalo Bowl had a lot of starches, probably not the best choice here. The Gomasio Brown Rice Cakes were the best dish we had, though small. Lastly, I heard the matcha was great here but it was pretty watery. Maybe we ordered the wrong dishes, but I thought the meal was just alright.

Food was absolutely delicious and portions are generous. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I ordered the Chilaquiles which were the best I'd had in a long while! Absolutely delicious. We left very full and satisfied.Vegetarian options: Whole menu is vegetarian and I believe all dishes also have a vegan option (ex: tofu scramble in place of eggs).Dietary restrictions: I believe the whole menu is gluten free and vegetarian; there are also options for egg replacements and dairy replacements.

I thought this place was going to be all aesthetics and no quality but I was way wrong. I had the most delicious breakfast tacos I've ever had. Everything is so carefully curated and masterfully executed, it's truly a gem. It's a great place for brunch with friends but it does get crowded on weekends. Prepare to struggle to find parking and brave the crowds, but it is so worth it. Really really delicious food!

I feel like this place has gotten better with their food and service over time. The space is now bigger now that they have the outside area and the two neighboring stores. There’s a little attached boutique with lots of cute goodies as well. The breakfast tacos are the bomb! I love these delicious little things. I ate everything! Such a highland park staple and if you’re vegan it would be a sin not to stop by.

Good vegan food but pricey. They should have one healthy dish or sandwich that is super cheap for those that need a break.

Cute atmosphere, some nice bagel sandwiches if you’re into that kind of thing; or just grab a cuppa’Parking: Go with a friend so one of you can grab and go while the other sits in the car.

So great to eat at a place that’s fully gluten free. I heard that they used to not be fully gluten free, but have made changes to be a gf restaurant which luckily has now made it safe for everyone that gluten intolerant and celiac! Absolutely delicious food. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options. Cute restaurant with indoor and some outdoor seating. Bathrooms for patrons available. Definitely recommend!Vegetarian options: Everything is vegan or vegetarianDietary restrictions: Gluten free restaurant
