I work about two blocks from the mall where Leon's Kitchen is located. Sometimes (on Thursdays) we will go to the Farmers' Market and return back to the office with a stop at Leon's. Just so you know, there are two credit union cash machines in the mall which can be another reason for being at that location. The two counter clerks are a husband and wife team. This is an excellent place for tuna or chicken salad as well as a nice hot soup. Generally there are two or three soup offerings. I have also gotten meat loaf there and have sometimes just gone for the garden salad. Whatever you opt to get, the portions are large. Prices are reasonable and the kitchen and service area is spotless. I've gone there for years and have never been disappointed with the food, price, or service.

You're always greeted with a smile from everyone at Leon's. Their chicken vegetable soup is sooooooooo good! Baked potatoes are humongous and there's always the frozen yogurt or ice cream for dessert.

This is a mall? This place is a dive, but it has a cvs and that's all I care about...

Solid sandwich shop. Their bread is really great. The staff is really friendly as well.

If you want feel like you're in the Soviet Union in 1983, this is a great place to go. It is dark, dismal, and desolate. The shops/restaurants are laid out in dark corridors that run underground. The only things missing are a pack of wild dogs and a bear smoking a cigarette. I think the only people who come here are desperate civic center/court employees and jurors. I wandered in hungry and left hungry due to all the unappealing options - it's all the most inferior food court options you'd see at any declining mall. Hope they remodel this place entirely. It's hard to imagine making an underground mall feel open and light, so maybe they need to just start over.

This location has been here since 1986 when I use to work Downtown - this restaurant still has one of the best Salads #20. While everyone has left the L.A. Mall - this restaurant has Not! Thank U Mr. Leon.

Excellent and generous salad 's the best I ever had. I love the tuna salad never had such a fresh one like me that! Their shrimp and crab saltos to die for. I thought they would charge more but was shocked on how reasonable even cheaper than our cafeteria at Caltrans!

Ordered their Fettuccini Pasta. Disgusting. Worst pasta I have ever had. The chicken was deli chicken that you put in a sandwich but instead cut in slices and drenched over white cream pickle sauce (wtf) layered over terrible hard pasta. The bread was not garlic bread. It was wheat French bread. Lol. The reason the LA Mall restaurants are existing is because state workers have no other option but to eat this type of crap. Surprised these places have not closed. Restaurants in the Civic District in LA are the worst places to eat. This dish was the worst! Lmao

Roast beef sandwich was good. I'll be back to give my support to this business. It's a little shop in the back NE corner of the LA Mall. Nice group of people running the place. I didn't know about the ice cream until I read some other reviews. So I'm going to have try that next time and get another post in here.

One of my favorite malls, because you meet so many people coming in and through! If you have a long layover come shop or walk the mall! Escalator to the food court is super slow and tight!

This is not a mall this is a little crappy food court/ office buildings in the middle of downtown.... one star for the misleading name!

Why is this place still standing? Why and how is it considered a mall? I unfortunately and dreadfully have to work in this dungeon a few times a week and even at part-time it's a terrible feat to deal with. The only "store" here is a CVS that looks decent. The rest of the restaurants and shops are trashed and run down. The Sbarro is always the busiest restaurant, I have no clue how Quiznos survives at all, and the coffee shop is terrible. All the other restaurants are scary enough from the outside, let alone walking in. Oh and don't expect to have any cell service whatsoever within a 2 block radius. But do expect to smell homeless person pee everywhere you walk. But hey, at least there is decent parking and for $8 all day when you get there before 8am, it's alright.

I parked here to run into CVS. The shop is in the mall associated with this parking garage. I was parked, in and out of the store and back to the payment kiosk in 7 minutes. I spent $8 on parking. CVS does not validate. Nor does anyone in the mall according to the cashier at CVS. $8 to park for 7 minutes. That's more than surgeons and lawyers make. Do not park here. Do not!! Ever.
