This review is for Maria's Italian Kitchen on Pico in West LA. The food is always good or excellent. If Robert is our server, the service is always good or impeccable. This review speaks to the bread service. Maria's used to provide their table bread free of charge, and you could order as many baskets as you wanted. Now the bread is $1 per order which doesn't bother me much, as the economy for restaurants is a bit tight now and they have to cover their spoilage costs if they automatically serve bread and it gets wasted. What does bother me is that the bread is quite often not ready when it's ordered. They often tell me that "the bread is now in the oven." This causes the bread to come with the food. The bread should be ready before the meal, not with the meal. What if I'm ordering a sandwich? Why would I want bread with a sandwich? Come on Maria's - think about that. Thank you for your consideration.

If it was not for Andresia running the front of the house staying on top of orders customers staff and an overall understanding of what it takes to ensure a successful service for the night. She ensures my dinning experience at Maria's is enjoyable every time. Big thank you to Andresia.

This is a well priced homestyle Italian restaurant with comfort food. That is good quality. It's a great place to go with family or friends. The portions are large so there's always leftovers. The service is great I recommend the rosemary bread and chicken piccata.

It’s a nice cozy restaurant that would be good for dates, lunch with coworkers or a solo dinner as well. The waiter was great and food was delicious! The bread basket is only $1

Very and cozy. The food and service was absolutely the nicest. I hate they no longer offer free bread, with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. They have small wine list. They have outside patio warm seating. Very scenic views of West l.a.. I had garlic knots, with shrimp scampi, and a side of spinach.

Perfect for one, two or a family dinner. The staff is super duper friendly and very accommodating. I hope they open up another one on the west side. From the take out specialists to the managers, everyone makes sure your not ignored and is nice. A must try Italian spot.

Yikes. Have eaten here a few times before over the years and was always ok. But now my memory has been jogged and I remember last time I didnt have such a good experience either. I believe I called and they comped me on my dish. So I didnt write them a bad review. This time I'm not bothering with a call. This place now has grown into a mini chain and that is where they clearly cant deal with quality control. Meat lasagna had a few morsels of meat in the most super salty sauce I have ever had. This thing was a soupy mess. Lasagna should be dense. Clearly there is no way this dish should be prepared like this. So either the chef cant follow a recipe or there is no recipe and the chef cant taste salt. pretty much inedible. And the portion size was smaller than I remember and of course prices are higher as is the norm everywhere. I have had multi layer lasagna's that stand tall but this one was literally 1/2 high. Not like the photo on the menu. Get your quality control in order. The spaghetti marina was decent and not overly salty and a larger portion to boot. Sautéed broccoli was also decent and surprisingly not salty. Go figure. And they used to give you a few pieces of home made focaccia. Nope. Nada. Not even any parmesan cheese packets. WTF. Never had an Italian restaurant not include some cheese packs. But... if your "namesake" lasagna is as bad as this... ...Off my list for good. To many WAY better places.

Had dinner here on. Monday night. The service was ok, and the parking is kind of tricky. But the restaurant gets high marks for its food. The tomato sauce, in particular, was very flavorful. I'm routinely disappointed by how bland Italian food can be, but my spaghetti and meatballs was first rate!

Had dinner with my dad two nights ago. The food was excellent! Fettuccini with mushrooms and angel hair pasta with clams. What I really appreciated though was the older gentleman who bussed our table, always cleaning the table and refilling drinks. Our waiter was very good too. It's a nice cosy neighborhood go to!

Oh my gosh, delicious! The head chef Rolando, made a dish called Chioppino, simply delicious, and Kim our server, had a beautiful personality, incredible service! Great food! I'd give it 10 stars if I could!

LOVELY PEOPLE. I've never been to a restaurant that made me feel so welcome. Some of the best slices I've tried in LA. Bringing my friends back here next time.
