No-frills establishment with utterly obsessional attention to sourcing and preparation. Bite for bite, bite per dollar, the absolute best value for a genuinely gorgeous and considered omakase in Los Angeles. Feels vaguely criminal to eat here.

Do yourself a favor and sit at the bar at Murakami. My fiancée and I stopped by for dinner tonight and had the chance to meet a kind and talented sushi chef named Taro. Taro completely blew our minds by recommending fish we’d never tried before and preparing it in exquisite detail. We’ve never had a sushi experience like this before. The flavors were extraordinary and the service was delightful, with staff who clearly love what they do and made us feel right at home in the restaurant. Thank you Taro and team for an incredible meal. We can’t wait to come back!

Preface: definitely a sushi critic. Found this gem in Weho. We weren’t expecting much as it’s difficult to find amazing sushi at reasonable prices…Boy were we wrong! We were blown away by the Omakase, chef Taro may be one of the best Omakase chefs in LA. And I’m not one to give out credit lightly. If you really enjoy sushi, specifically high quality fish, a place that knows the best fish during each season this is your place! Owner is amazing, she sometimes uses her multi generational family antique dishes. Also the staff is very welcoming, and on top of everything! You can feel the amount and effort and care that goes into this place. Can’t recommend more. Very underrated place.

Quite simply and succinctly - the best Sushi in LA. I'm a Sushi snob, and have tried *many*. The best in the world used to be Yoshi's on Santa Monica and Harper in WeHo, but since he retired about 7 years ago, I've been searching for a replacement. While not as Stellar as Yoshi's was, Murakami is NOW the best there is in LA. Don't waste your time or money anywhere else.

Murakami serves up some fresh sushi and hubby and I enjoyed our date night here on a Saturday night. We came in at 7:00pm and the place was pretty quiet. Service was beyond attentive and they had some unique nigiri specials that I appreciated. Everything we ordered was great; standouts were the toro and salmon belly. I also really enjoyed their green tea ice cream as it wasn't too sweet. Prices are fair for the area and I'd definitely come back again.

The best sushi I’ve had in California. The sashimi was so fresh. Good food, alongside good service and atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone debating on where to go for a good quality meal in the area.

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite local sushi spots. The service is great, staff are friendly, and the vibe is very casual. Sushi is fresh--my fave is the Spicy Trio bowl (make sure to get the extra garlic soy sauce!). Also, the garlic edamame is fire.

The food was authentic Japanese. The fish was fresh and the rice was cooked delicious. The sides were unique. Pickled plums and daikon. The salad dressing was light.

Our new go to local sushi spot in the area. Fresh and flavorful sushi and really attentive friendly service. The Melrose and black cod sushi were our favorite picks and we look forward to trying more of the menu on future visits!
