I came here today with minimal expectations, just aiming for a sandwich, but ended up leaving with not only the sandwich but also a fruit, yogurt, and granola bowl. It exceeded my expectations - the ham and Swiss sandwich was exceptionally well-made, and the bowl was great. The man who took my order was so polite and patient with me. I'll definitely be returning!

Thank you Mari and New York City Deli staff for a delicious and healthy lunch. Our team really appreciated the fresh ingredients and the care and detailed way in which the food was packaged. We really appreciated the excellent customer service and timely delivery of our food that ensured we started our staff meeting on time. We will definitely order from here again.

Had a grilled pesto Chicken sandwich with a side of potato salad. The sandwich was so delicious. They have so much to choose from. I just wish they had better parking. It's not their fault, it's LA. Definitely will be returning . I forgot the name of the sandwich I purchased, but I believe it was the grilled chicken pesto with cheese and tomato with spinach. BOMB!

Solid wraps and sandwiches, quick and easy, friendly staff. I'm writing more words because Yelp requires it.

Very pleasantly surprised!! One of the best chicken salad sandwiches I have ever tasted. I had to stop myself from ordering anyone one. I will definitely come back next time I'm in DTLA garment district.

Don't underestimate this little bodega! Their quality and service is top tier. The man who works in the morning is the sweetest and works quickly! The everything bagels are my favorite and their matcha is perfect!!! Sandwiches are amazing too. Love everything about this place.

Straight to it:5 Stars: Last minute order of Oatmeal Raisin cookie because my bff who loved these cookies would literally raise from the dead if I didn't try every new ORC I crossed paths with. This particular ORC was delectable, fresh, moist, with just the right amount of raisin-to-oat ratio. Superb. Chef's Kiss!5 Stars: NY City Deli sandwich on French baguette (no Mayo due to childhood trauma involving one big brother and one big spoon of the white goo) plus pickles, because.. pickles. And two packets of fancy Boar's Head mustard because I forgot to add mustard. 2 Stars (sadly): I ordered the yogurt bowl touting fresh berries atop a bed of granola. Truly didn't put much thought into the order of things. Granola should most definitely be a "topping," as anything with even the slightest bit of moisture will render the crunchy, delicious crumbles a sad bed of mush. Which was the disappointing case with this bowl. Although it appears to be fresh because strawberries usually have the telltale signs of pre-preparedness but again, sadly, I do not think these are made on-site. The actual yogurt was meh, almost at room-temperature, slightly congealed with a bit of a skin-like texture on top and mixed with the mushy granola, it left this gal missing the tartness of a good and fresh dollop of the creamy goodness. I'm most definitely spoiled by the fruit-n-yogurt (bionico) just over the bridge at La Michoacána in East LA. I'll spend the additional $1 and stay on the other side of the bridge for the freshest of fresh fruit-n-yogurt.Otherwise, I'm glad I tried it! I've had this deli tagged as a must-try since it's fairly close to home. I'm also a s***** for a good sandwich. Sounds like an easy item to serve up but you would be surprised by what some shops sell around here. At any rate. NY Deli in DTLA, come for the sandwiches and Oatmeal Raisin cookies!Last note:It's 2023 when I'm penning this review. I'm sad to report that DTLA is going through an ugly phase. This little deli is not in a particularly attractive or friendly part of the city. Don't drop in expecting WeHo or even the Arts Dist., and! Don't expect to have lots of space to sit and eat. It's a tiny shop with tiny space. I'd file this spot in your "takeaway" file. Still! Go and grab and go!

EXTREMELY Nice guy working there, got in and out super fast (lunch break) even though he was the only one working and there's was at least 5 of us in there. Definitely coming back.

We tried this place for lunch and they had a variety items that were calling my name. Decided to go with the breakfast burrito and the chicken quesadilla. The breakfast burrito came scrambled eggs, cheese, black beans, pico de Gallo, avocado, meat (I chose bacon) and a side of green sauce wrapped in a spinach tortilla. To say that it was hearty and delicious would be an understatement. The chicken quesadilla was full of cheese, juicy chicken, avocado and a chipotle sauce. Both these items were amazing. Can't wait to try more.
