I've had their tamales many times, and they are always very tasty. I really like the mole and chicken with green sauce tamales. Their aguas frescas are really good, especially the guyabano fresco. The last time I was there, I also ordered the Spicy Pineapple.

2/25/24: I had the smoked milk ice cream. I did not like it. The smoked taste didn't work and the ice cream was very icy instead of creamy.

Friendly service Food not so good. The chicken and beef is dry and not seasoned; for this reason the mole, Chile relleno torta and the thin crust tortilla (I can't remember the name) were not good. I simply cannot recommend this place.

We stopped in Mercado La Paloma for a quick lunch - it's a super casual market with plentiful food options and seating indoors & outdoors. They also have a parking lot with overflow to make it an easy destination! I grabbed a Super Green juice and container of fresh fruit from their Oaxacalifornia booth. The juice was delicious & hit the spot - packed with nutrients & flavor from spinach, parsley, green apple, cucumber and pineapple! Such a great price for fresh truice served in a 24 oz cup ($7). The fresh fruit was a huge container for $8 mixed with mango, pineapple, melon, cucumber and strawberry. There was no line and the service was quick!

I’m so glad I ignored the bad reviews on here ( I found this spot from an LA Times food critic after all). It was Mexican food heaven. One of the best tortas I’ve had in LA. Service was kind and quick. Very affordable- two filing sandwiches, a large smoothie, and a large cafe de olla came out to $28. It was pretty crowded but we found seats near the back. Awesome experience!

I ordered a tlayuda and a cake, nothing to do with it, the beans lacked flavor, the tlayuda was a tostada, I know that it is a tlayudas and that it is a tostada, it didn't have (acent—ground pork rinds) look for the original chorizo from Oaxaca, it needs more effort, they are just opinions to improve

Had no idea what I was in for when a friend was back in town and wanted to meet for lunch. Drove all the way there, parked in the lot, and walked through the entrance to what turned out to be the Mercado de Paloma (a slice of what would be like Disneyland to me). She said Holbox was on her wishlist, so we enjoyed their offerings. Truth be told, we were there for four hours, talking. With all that talking, we were parched and got soursop drinks (our first time...and became utter fans) at Gusina Saraba (Belizean Gurifuna cuisine). Wish we had room to try their food! We all also got some of the exotic sorbets at Oaxacalifornia! We got the Jamaica (hibiscus) and mamey! They were so tasty! Even later in the afternoon, they had a constant flow of customers...impressive.

Fast service with plenty of juice options and some other food options. Got the cucumber juice with chia seeds which had a wonderful mix of ingredients and good flavor but is quite sweet and too sweet for my tastes so just a caveat to those who prefer less sweet options. Ended up diluting with water, which helped balance out the flavor.

I love my pineapple passion fruit agua fresca and my watermelon fresca. We finished out large watermelon and loved it so much we ordered the pineapple passion fruit one. So tasty and refreshing.

Holbox restaurant in the market is the best ceviche I ever tried, they cut the tuna fish right in front of you to make your ceviche, the prices are cheap and you can eat in front of the ceviche bar while you see how they prepare the fresh food for you.

I've been coming here for a really long time, I actually don't know how long but I guess since they opened. I always get the passion fruit and lemonade mix and it's always delicious . They also make one hell of a great club sandwich which is my favorite. The people that work here are always really nice and friendly, (as I like to say) very cool, and down to earth. And since it's in the middle of the food court, there's always a really great atmosphere where you feel nice and comfortable. What I like to do is grab a club sandwich from them and then run over to the burger spot and grab some fries, and make a meal of it .... If you haven't been here, you definitely check it out. They have seven different kitchens/foods to choose from... PS . Whatever you do don't go on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. That's when I go and I don't like waiting in line....
