IMO, the best restaurant in Little Tokyo for general Japanese food: meaning, tempura to sushi. Yes, there are perhaps better sushi restaurants, but they are significantly more expensive and that is all they offer. The tempura and other items are fairly good here; the only detracting point is there is a somewhat limited selection of fish compared to a dedicated sushi restaurant. On the other hand, the sushi chef is quite skilled and professional; selection aside, you will have great sushi here. The staff is friendly. Expect a good wait in the evenings come the weekend.. like up to an hour.Wheelchair accessibility: There is limited accessibility here. Most all of the seating are booths and access throughout the restaurant isn't very open.

Hideen little gem in little Tokio with amazing food and staff, shout out to Claudio for making sure our big order was perfectly executed and tasted fresh and made specially just for us. The prices are fair, and the fish is a super fresh tasting pair that is upheld with a clean and comfortable restaurant feel.I definitely recommend you guys try them out!

My boyfriend and I live in the neighborhood and wanted to try a restaurant that we haven't visited before. We thought it was a good omen that a couple with two very well taken care of Shiba Inus were sitting outside and enjoying the food, so naturally we chose Oomasa. And it didn't disappoint! We both ordered teriyaki combo bento boxes and our food was delicious. Great service and yummy food. We also loved the ambience of the place. We'll be coming back!

Came to this place with my out-of-town guest. It's Super Bowl Sunday and there was no wait. That's so nice because it was pretty cold outside. Parking was easy as it's Sunday and we were able to find street parking. I believe one gets two hours validation from the restaurant if you park in the Japanese Village Plaza parking.We ordered bento box and udons and everybody was happy with the food. The udon was steaming hot and the sushi in the bento box was fresh. The service was good as well.Definitely would love to come back to this place!

Came here because of rating. Atmosphere was nice. On this day, while the staff were very nice, the server was overwhelmed and not attentive after she got our order. Time from first plate to one person to 4th person was 30 min. Not good. Quality of the food was good. “Garlic Edamame was excellent. Prices were average for sushi. We’ll try other place in Little Tokyo before coming back here.

Came on a Monday night (holiday) and we got sat down right away. Service was fast and food was great. We ordered a bento box (chicken teriyaki & tempura) and sushi combination. Their price is very reasonable too. The only thing that we weren’t happy about is that the sushi combination took so long to come, it came after we finished the bento box, it would be nice if we can eat both of our order at the same time. Maybe the sushi chefs were behind and more sushi order than kitchen order that night.

I like oomasa, very consistent Japanese staples. I had the beef udon noodles and my partner had the traditional sushi tempura bento box. Free parking too.
