Spur of the moment found ourselves here for a late Thursday lunch. Excellent service and extensive menu. We tried the sushi lunch and the seared saba over rice bowl. Both were spectacular. Very delicious. They came with small side dishes that were also tasty. We ordered eggplant and pineapple grilled skewers, too. The sushi selection was fairly diverse with large portions of fish, great rice and well thought out flavor preparations. The saba was particularly marinated with thinly sliced ginger. Wasabi appeared to be chunky and milder than most US Japanese places and possibly the freshest I’ve tasted in a long time.More American Japanese restaurants need to use fresh wasabi, as it is easy to source in California and fairly easy to prepare and serve; and it tastes much better than the pseudo-wasabi horseradish mix usually served.Osen is a great find and should be experienced for an exceptional, traditional, Japanese experience.Highly, highly suggest you dine here.Parking: Small lot with valet. $7 withvalidation.

The food was ok, acceptable. However, knowing the price while I’m eating it really makes the food quite bad. The food is alright, but it is just simply not worth the price. Also, it is supposed to be “fine dining,” but it is more like any other little Japanese spots around LA. Overall, I wouldn’t really come back again.

Came inside of the restaurant on 3/21 at 7:45pm and was not acknowledged or assisted by the person at the front. She sat and watched me wait for an order and continued to serve other people. When I asked her about my order, she snapped at me and pointed at the bag. When I asked her to please get your manager, she ignored me. I don’t know what type of place this is, but it’s unprofessional and I will be telling everybody that I know to never come here. If a manager sees this message, please make sure you’re hiring more professional employees, her attitude was disgusting!!!!

We booked an outside table. When we got there, we were told that outside dining is closed due to weather although many people were still dining outside. It was sprinkling. We were told that we can’t dine at the restaurant since we had a dog but outside seatings are not available. They didn’t even give us an option to dine outside with a light rain. I understand that dogs are not allowed inside but how they handled was not professional. They could have even offered to prepare food for to-go. She literally stood there and waited us to say “ok” and leave.

idek how many times I’ve been here since 2023 September… this restaurant can be top 5 places I love and recommend to people in LA. The pricing might be a lil pricey, but that’s the only one thing u need to consider. Other than that, the vast majority of the dishes r super delectable. I love the tuna uni and Omakase bowls. The beef tongue was bussin. Aki tastes nice as well w caviar. The normal aki version might be a bit plain.

The food is above average amongst the typical sushi restaurants in LA. The toro uni bowl or any other bowls are pretty big in portion and the quality of the tuna was good. Uni could be better though.
