This is the Koreatown Sixth Street outlet of Hong Kong Banjum which does full table service. Other outlets just had counter service only where you pay first and pick up your order yourself. I ate the Jia Jang bap which is black bean sauce with rice. Most of the menu items are pretty good. A lot of local Koreans come here for lunch so it is authentic. Popular items are the jjampong and Jia Jang myun. Main problem with this location is parking since this lot is always packed and pay for valet parking.

well..A few personal thoughtsThe owner may have changed, but the restaurant concept has changed and the taste has gotten better, but I couldn't taste any of the Jjamppong flavor, let alone the fiery taste it had before. I would appreciate it if you would consider my health by reducing the MSG, but there is room for improvement in the taste.

Got the sweet and sour fried pork (탕수육) and the spicy seafood soup / soup (짬뽕밥). The fried pork pieces were good but the sauce can be better - not as sweet and sour. The spicy seafood soup was okay - didn't have the fire flavor (불맛) but it was interesting how they offered a version that had both rice and noodles. Satisfied our korean-chinese fusion food cravings but the food was just average.

One of the best jjampong. Better than any other Paik's place in California. Friendly staffs Serves alcoholic beverages to pair with menu.

Don't bother coming here within 1 hour of closing! Came in on 1/30/24 around 11:20PM When we walked in and said "for two," a male waiter with glasses pointedly looked at his watch before seating us. He told us that last call would be in 10 minutes at 11:30 and that the restaurant closes at 11:50 even though it says their hours are till 12 AM. In the next few minutes he kept clicking his pen and asked us several times if we were ready to order. Exactly at 11:24 he told us that we needed to order because it was now last call! Since we were being rushed, we quickly ordered and told him to just make everything to go. Immediately after placing my order they turned the bright lights on and started cleaning up even though we and other guests were still seated at the tables. Overall the food was ok but nothing special. The tangsuyuk sauce was extremely bland. The service was nearly rock-bottom bad!

Food is delicious, atmosphere is very pleasant, and it was quite difficult to get a place bc these guys are the best!!! Great service and the quality of food just make me happy. furthermore, the major reason that I'm gonna come back here again bc of the attitude which mean's customer service and Plus food!

Came with a group on a Saturday noon and had a pleasant experience! This was my first time trying jajangmyeon, and it definitely didn't disappoint! Most of us got the meat jajangmyeon (one of their bestsellers/favorites, I think) - it was generously sized, reasonably priced, and yummy! The only thing was the black bean sauce was really thick at first, but watered down as you got toward the bottom. I also wish there was a little more meat, considering the $3 up charge from the regular jajangmyeon. Service was okay - nothing notable. The menu also wasn't super extensive - but if I need a big, hearty meal. I'd get the meat jajangmyeon again!

We came on a friday night and the place was moderately empty. Parking here is the worst and you honestly just have to end up valeting. (They've charged me $4 or $10 at times... I hate how there is no price transparency and that they lie) Anyways the service here was great! The servers greeted us immediately and our food came out within minutes. I've had Paik in Korea before and it was seen as a fast food/very affordable place but for two of these items it came out to $40 and the quality to price ratio wasn't that justifiable. This is just your standard place that can satisfy your jajangmyeon cravings but it is not the place that makes you dream about coming back to. 3.5/5

Baek Jong-won Jjajangmyeon House...The food seems to have been made exactly according to the recipe and is almost similar to the taste of Baek's I had in Korea.Sweet and sour pork with glutinous rice is delicious. heThe Jjajangmyeon tastes exactly like Baek’s Jjajangmyeon from the chain restaurant.Sweet salty sweet salty. It's an ordinary taste that can't be said to be very delicious, but it can't be said to be tasteless either....If you are looking for a special taste, this is not the place.But... it tastes exactly like the sweet and salty black bean noodles we imagine.Because the taste is above average, you can eat this restaurant without fail. The price... feels a bit expensive, but...If you think about the prices in the US, you have to take it.

Ok, so I came here a while ago and obviously things didn't go very well. I decided to give this place another go and to my surprise, everything has improved. So I came yet another time to make sure it wasn't a fluke and again everything was delicious. So I'm updating my review. The jjampong is spicy and tasty, I ate the entire thing! I was so satisfied and happy. The service is also improved, and I've ever ordered take out and my soup was still tasty. Anyway, this will now be my to go place for delicious Korean soup.
