Was very happy to find this place- I had the beef black pepper noodles (not the soup version) and it was one of the best versions of this dish I’ve ever had. Sizzling hot and they don’t hold back on the spice. The sauce and consistency were great. Spring rolls were average. Very friendly service and decent prices- think I paid $24 plus tip for my meal. And cool decor/furniture too. Will surely be returning

The drinks were meh and the food is dry. It’s a convenient location but I wouldn’t go back again. The owner Andrew was really rude

We have to come back! We were lured in by their sign advertising Wonton soup. Being half-Taiwanese, I have an unexplainable craving for Wonton soup. We went around dinner time and they were out of wontons, so we’ll have to come back earlier. I opted for their Mapo Tofu with noodles and was very satisfied. The ambiance of this place is incredible. Warm red tones and paper lanterns adorn the space, elevating the room and offering a fantastic dining atmosphere. They have a full bar. If I didn’t have a toddler on me I would have been at the bar trying out their Baiju cocktails. I love how they have a rotating selection of craft beers and appetizer specials! We sat outside so our toddler can run around, and I truly appreciate how accommodating the employees were in turning on the heat and making sure we were comfortable.

I was a tourist in LA with no phone or car and I stumbled into this place because it was in walking distance of my hotel. What an unbelievably lucky chance for me. The food here is delicious, and the drinks are awesome, but the people are truly what made me come back over the duration of my trip. Hiro and Nara (I hope I didn't butcher the names) and the ska-fan whose name I did not get - you're all superstars. This is 100% a place to visit if you're looking to have an absolutely awesome time.

The broth of the beef noodle soup was good! I liked that it was citrusy. The beef was good too, but the noodles was a bit too soggy. Good service, and love the lanterns and Chinese decorations

TL;DR THE BUSINESS OWNERS ARE ANTI-BLACK AF the food is good and the staff incredibly friendly. I've come here several times and live in the area. Whenever my boyfriend and I dine here we notice how chatty the owners, both named Andrew, are with other patrons and how dismissive they are of us. There isn't a time of day or day of the week that they aren't here entertaining guests. We come here ALL THE TIME. My boyfriend is black and I can't help but consider there may be a correlation between that and the owner's treatment of us. Tonight we came in to grab dinner and were hollered at from across the dining room "do you have a reservation?" The owner didn't welcome us in nor did he approach us when speaking to us. He then turned, saw a cocktail table in the back of the bar area and motioned that we could sit there. For people who are usually so insistent on getting to know their customers you'd think they would recognize and be a little friendlier to people who come here almost weekly if not bi-weekly. It's especially apparent when you see how quickly the staff recognize and greet my boyfriend. Honestly a shame we'll have to leave this place behind, but we don't go where we very clearly aren't welcome.

Great place for karaoke, small bites and mystical plum wine. The wine came in a smaller than average cup, but provided the courage to sing ANY song.

Stopped in for lunch today and what a hidden gem this place is. Waiter was great. Very attentive and friendly. He was always on top of the customers needs. The food was great and delivered in a very timely matter. Great flavor and perfect portion size. I would definitely recommend to everyone and I will be returning in the future.

I bought out the restaurant for three hours on a Sunday to throw a party and it was amazing. I picked this spot because I wanted to serve dumplings and a full bar in a cool space, and this had all of that. I went for dinner twice to test it out and the food is really good and the drinks are excellent. Even more impressive is that the food is just as good when serving 100 people in chafing dishes - that's tough to do. The party was 100% perfect and the owners went completely above and beyond to make it so. Peking Tavern wasn't on my radar before looking for a spot slot but I'm so glad it is now! Looking forward to lots of karaoke and happy hours!

The beef soup was on point! Soup base was simply delectable! I would have preferred a little cilantro, but that's my preference. Meat was extremely tender. Freshly hand-made Spicy Wontons, "OH my goodness! Ordered a second helping. Should have ordered the 10 piece from the start! Compliments to the chef. It was a Monday night and not too crowded, but the lone front server could have done with some help. (Not his fault) Ambiance is fine. Prices are on the higher end for wontons. Beef soup at $18.00 could have had a little more substance, but I'd definitely go back! The presentation was good, but the plain white bowls and serving trays, blawww! A more authentic looking piece would've made the presentation pop just that more.

Came right after they opened on a Wednesday and the place was empty. We were seated right away and given menus and were told their fryer is broken so none of the fried food was available. The menu is an interesting mix of different types of Chinese cuisine. They have a full bar but on that day they were out of the Pilsner. The service: The drinks and the food come out slowly (the server mentioned there's only one cook in the back). Even though we were the only party there (to eat) the server was snappy with us and kind of rude. When he brought out an extra order of beef noodle soup he insinuated that it was our fault and someone must have said it an extra time. The server also took 30 minutes to bring out extra sauce when requested and by that time we didn't need it anymore. He apologized for the slow service when we were leaving but that doesn't make up for his tone when speaking to us. The food: The portions here are rather small. Green onion pancakes - very thin and served with a side sauce ?? I've never had that before and there was a small piece of what looked like Saran Wrap on the plate.. leftover from taking it out and microwaving ?? Also it somehow manages to taste burnt while not having any burnt marks on it. Beef noodle soup - the soup flavor was fine but the plating was weird as it seemed like they didn't want to give you plenty of soup.. the meat wasn't as tender as I'm used to as well. Mapo tofu noodles - lots of peppercorn oil in this which is fine with me but it is a bit salty after a while. Spicy fish - I liked the fish it was cooked thoroughly and the peppers/paste on top gave it an extra kick of flavor. I ordered it with "add noodles" and they came out as just plain noodles on the side in a small bowl.. also weird. We also ordered beef rolls that finally came out when everyone was done eating.. I didn't have high expectations coming here since it definitely looked like one of those "fake Chinese food" places but it was even more disappointing. I went to P P Pop in Monterey Park the next day so I could get beef noodle soup redemption. I will not be coming back here.
