The food was 5.5/10 I’m actually disappointed because they messed up on my order told me to keep the Mac that I didn’t want and made me pay for an extra side that I told them I originally wanted !!

I was a bit hesitant to try Soulo's because of the negative comments, but I was very glad I did. Great food, attitude, and atmosphere. Don't hesitate!Vegetarian options: I asked about the garden burger, was told it has milk in it and was offered a Beyond Beef burger. Heaven! I will return.

I’ll start by saying I went to support another black business! I hope this is not taken as a knock, because they have so much potential and are really nice ppl…But my food was entirely too salty. I ordered the oxtails over rice, with yams and greens. (Anytime you have food premade, if it sits in its juice and kept at a constant heat…It will get salty! Water has to be added to cut the salt.) the meat was super tender, the greens were also, and the yams were really good… they were the only thing to cut the saltiness, but unfortunately not enough. My husband ordered the Shrimp surf and turf burger and we loved it!! The sauce was great and we would’ve loved to add another patty to that burger, but all in all…burger was fire!

Soulo's Kitchen Hits the Soul with Flavor and FlairIf you're craving a taste of soul food done right, look no further than Soulo's Kitchen. This spot in DTLA lives up to the hype, offering classic dishes with a modern twist.First up, the pork chops. Forget dry, overcooked versions – these were melt-in-your-mouth smooth, seasoned to perfection. Paired with the perfectly crisp fried okra, it's a carnivore's dream. For a veggie side, the collard greens were cooked low and slow, bursting with flavor without a hint of bitterness.Seafood lovers won't be disappointed either. The crab fingers were a delightful surprise, offering a satisfying crunch and a burst of fresh crab in every bite.No soul food spread is complete without mac n cheese and candied yams. Soulo's mac and cheese was rich and creamy, a decadent counterpoint to the sweetness of the candied yams.Speaking of decadent, if you're looking for an epic burger experience, you have to check out Soulo's sister venture, Billionaire Burger Boyz. Their Lobster Surf & Turf burger is a force to be reckoned with – a juicy patty topped with succulent lobster and all the fixings. Don't miss their signature jambalaya fries, a flavor explosion in every bite, and the honey butter wings, where the crispy exterior gives way to juicy, flavorful chicken.Whether you're at Soulo's Kitchen or Billionaire Burger Boyz, prepare for a tastebud adventure. Both spots offer a delicious and unique take on comfort food classics.

I found my spot! When I say the food is delicious I mean it with every fiber in my body. Coming from Chicago I’ve had the hardest time finding good food now my search is over. Everything on my place was 5 star down to the kool-aid and service was great too!

I had the pork chops and gravy delivered and I got red beans and rice and the salt was so strong. I’ve never taste anything like it. I will really wanted to eat red beans and rice. It was so gross. I couldn’t even eat it. I called them and said look I think somebody poured a ton of salt, your red beans and rice man. Please check it and everything else was so overwhelming and salt. It was like I ate half of it and the damn thing cost me like 40 bucks, I’ll never ever eat here again. It is such a shame too because soul food is fantastic sometimes but is that what America likes us all that salt Jesus?

I've been wanting to try Soulo's for the longest! A few years back, I was a fan of the Billionaire Burger Boyz Truck and loved the Jambalaya Fries (tho they were a lil salty). My friend wanted to take me to lunch for my birthday and Soulo's is what I chose. I ordered the oxtails, greens, and macncheese. The food was delicious, but a little spicy and still a little too salty for my taste. Otherwise, everything was cooked to perfection, and there was so much food that it literally took me three days to eat it all. When Chef found out that it was my birthday, he also gave me a free slice of Lemon Cake! It was DELICIOUS!! Thank You!

This last visit was my 3rd time dri ing up from San Diego to eat here. The 1st two times the food was delicious and well seasoned. Whoa...this time I don't know what happened! Maybe we caught them on a bad day..but I believe restaurants should be consistent.

The customer service was fantastic, the food was flavorful. The macaroni and cheese had a lil kick to it, I wasn't really feeling that. The catfish was too breaded, not my favorite style in making catfish. My husband had the oxtails. They were cool, I could taste they were smoked flavored. It's was a really cold and rainy day the day we went and The place is so small, the cold air was killing me everytime the door opened. My baby got the chicken and fries. The fries were the bomb! The chicken and fries was nice and hot like i like it. The chicken would have been perfect if it was a little more seasoned. However I would go back and get something different. The place really has some excellent potential. A chill vibe with excellent customer service.

Everything was great, solid 4.5/5. Ordered the oxtail plate w/ Mac n cheese and collared greens + the 6 wings and fries. The food is cooked well and well-seasoned, and I perhaps can see how some folks find it too salty but not me. The oxtails were tender pretty close to fall off the bone, and the chicken and fries were crispy. I liked the batter w the chicken which was tender too. The Cajun seasoning is excellent. I liked the large shells w the Mac and cheese, I think it provides great texture and allows for the cheese to be picked up and adhered to the noodles. Greens had that nice sour bite to them w/ good consistency. I thought these portions were good and enough for two adults. Definitely coming back, they've been here for year and more I hope!

I'm SOOO mad! I spent almost $200 on the food including delivery and tip for 4 meals and two of them were . I ordered the Mac n cheese and not only were the noodles undercooked, but it tasted like someone dropped the ENTIRE jar of Black pepper in there and thought that's okay I'll still serve it. Two of us got the smothered pork chops neither the chop nor the gravy had any salt. For a $30 pork chop dinner, I'm expecting it to be flavorful...it's pork! The a la cart fried lamb chops were good, but that might've been the awesome sauce. The oxtails were good from what I was told. $200 to eat bland food at home. I'll never do that again!

This place has to be the most disappointing rendition of a soul food restaurant. Whoever idea it was to merge Asian and Soul food within the same establishment should definitely reconsider. Our order was $300.00 The Shrimp was made with a lot of oil Dry Lobster claws over fried Mac n cheese which was oily with no flavor. Salmon was dry no seasoning and the peach cobbler was mediocre. The Lemonade however was the best thing. Customer service wasn't the best but I hope they can improve in all aspects in order to be a better Soul Food Kitchen.
