Luck has been with us and we managed both parking in the public lot and a table here on a Friday and a Saturday! The food here is excellent; the sushi and sashimi are fresh, with the hamachi buttery and flavorful. Even the rice maintains a delicate bite yet supports the sushi without falling apart. The salmon is remarkable in its flavor and the uni is fresh with a pleasing texture and no hint of being stored too long. Yellowtail roll, spider roll and unagi/avo roller were all flavorful and delicious. This is a small place and there aren't many tables, so you can expect a line and a significant wait. The staff are all very friendly and service is great! They do validate parking for 2 hours, so don't forget to bring your parking ticket!

Possibly the best value in town, especially DTLA / Little Tokyo. Small space, it gets busy (as any great place does). Arrive early.

Great value! Can't beat the price and quality you are getting here. Yes there are places with better quality such as some omakase styles and it comes with higher prices. But good luck finding a place with this quality of food aim a such reasonable price.

This place is a tiny little gem in the middle of Little Tokyo! And I mean TINY. The quality of the fish was great. Service was very kind and prices were pretty reasonable. Miso soup was not too salty which is good. Each of the pieces of sushi had wasabi under the fish so if you don't like wasabi, take note of that.

Been going to Komasa once a month or so for more than 20 years. Prices are affordable for traditional sushi. Very friendly staff. Small place and usually full with a modest wait line. The servings are not skimpy like other sushi spots.

Hidden Gem in Little Tokyo! We visited little tokyo in LA because we love japanese food. This restaurant, Sushi Komasa, has a good google review already and people dont lie about their review ? The price is very reasonable. It costs you from 10-12 dollars for a sushi portion and 21 to 30 dollars for set menu. But, their quality is Top-Notch! We tried tempura and combination sushi set menu. Unfortunately, my fried ate the tempura too fast befor me taking the picture. Both food taste so good and authentic Japanese (we have been to Japan). They also have generous cut for the sashimi which we find it satisfying! I think this place deserves a michelin star ? Hope to see you again

Yes this place is good. The place was packed. Luckily I was eating alone and found a place at the bar. This place ruins it for all the many other places that have slightly inferior fish.

There is no shortage of great sushi spots in Little Tokyo. Komasa is another solid option. This place, like most Little Tokyo places, is super small so it is best to come with a small group or solo. The staff is attentive and the service is quick. They have you order while you wait so by the time you sit down the food comes relatively quickly. Prices are decent as well. 2 people ordered: 2 large bottles of beer, 2 sakes, 24+ pieces of sushi and a roll for under $200. There are parking garages around Little Tokyo as well as some metered parking so if you choose to drive there are options.

Friday night dinner for 2 This place validated parking for 2 hrs. But you may have to wait a while and if your 2 hrs expire then you need to pay regular price. I would recommend finding street parking if possible. We waited 30-45 mins for a spot as it's a small restaurant. Got a seat at the counter which is my preference. Environment and ambiance is very mom and pop but I think it adds to the charm. Service is very friendly and efficient. They checked up on us often but we're not bothersome to the experience. Sushi is excellent. Rice was nice and warm. It added a hint of sweetness to the buttery chilled sushi. We also got a sashimi platter. Great value there! Overall excellent meal. I couldn't recommend this restaurant enough. The wait is worth it!

Ever since we moved out of Sawtelle, this has been my go-to place. Glad to see they are getting more and more popular now even after the pandemic. Must get salmon belly, yellow tail belly, uni, spicy tuna roll, and fresh water eel. I also always get sashimi tempura dinner too, and it's enough for my dinner and lunch the day after.

Love this place. Big chunks of fresh, juicy fish. Friendly service that always makes us feel welcome.

I went by myself on a Wednesday night right when it opened at 5 PM. This is the type of sushi that takes me back to Tsukiji Market. The portions are generous (pro tip: ask for easy rice if you want to eat less carbs), while the fish is extremely fresh.Simplicity at its finest. My go-to order includes: halibut, jumbo scallops, uni, ama ebi, and spicy tuna roll.

This is my favorite restaurant in Los Angeles. I LOVE their food. I love the prices here also. For $22 USD you get a combo plate of salmon teryaki, sashimi, sushi, tempura and miso soup. The sushi is so great here!! You can have a meal for 2 fir for a king for $100 and other comparable sushi restaurant would cost at least twice as much!!! The only problem with tghis restaurant is that is always busy. If you want to eat on Saturday or Friday make sure you get here at 5:00 or you will wait up to an hour for a table.,All the sushi is fresh and cut correctly and delicious.

A small little restaurant with just one sushi chef, but he works quick! I went right when they opened at 5pm on a Wednesday and was seated right away. The whole restaurant was filled in the next twenty minutes. I sat at the bar area and it was fun watching the sushi chef make everything. Everything was extremely fresh and the cuts of fish were really thick, so I thought everything was very reasonably priced. Servers were attentive and very friendly too!

Great value and delicious food on a budget. They validate parking so remember to bring your ticket (if you forget, they still give you the Metro free 2 hour parking validation). We ordered the Komasa dinner combo set, the tempura+sashimi combo, and a large asahi. . Sashimi (tuna, salmon, yellowtail) was fresh, fatty, and delicious. Tempura was pretty good. Teriyaki chicken was decent, nothing to brag about it.Pretty cool atmosphere. Seats about 30 people and only had to wait 5 minutes for a seat when we came here on a Saturday night at 7. It's my new go-to place if I want to eat quality sushi on a tight budget (or if I want to avoid the lines at Sushi Gen).
